"For one, it feels good to take a walk in the mornings. Don't you agree? And two, I thought we might talk a little. I little walk, a little talk, all good." He looked at her and smiled. "We don't have to talk, of course... one thing at a time, I think."

He shrugged. "So... you're happy with Sean, I see." He said the name bitterly.
He didn't answer, instead changing the subject. "Have you noticed Lizzie and Rife?" He asked. "She likes him."
"But you know why she is here. Do you still find it amusing, knowing that she will betray you?"
"It is only my fault that she will have to carry out the orders. I only relayed them to her. The orders were from your parents." He looked at her to see her reaction to this.
"They want you back. They knew they couldn't stop you from coming here, so they sent her here. Me, though... I came because I wanted to." He smiled.

"How can you expect anyone to let you go, Salem? Once someone has met you, you leave an impression. It's even harder for those of us who have known you all your life to let you go. You are so special, so much your own... that everyone wants you to be theirs." He shrugged. "That's how things work."
He shrugged again. "Maybe we shouldn't talk about you and me."
He looked up through the trees at the lightening sky. "Emmy was having problems, I heard."
He smiled. "Sometimes I listen... and sometimes I just have Lizzie tell me. This time I just listened, though."
"Can you hear me now?" he asked.
He smiled. "Sorry... I wouldn't want your boyfriend to hear me snooping, is all."
"Alright, alright." He grinned.
He shrugged again. "You can go back... I'm not stopping you. I'll be waiting for you every morning."
He looked at her strangely for a moment, then smiled. "Alright then. I guess we can just sit and... talk."
He laid along the tree on his back, putting his head in her lap. "They don't have to be gone," he said with a sudden, strange gentleness.
He was silent for a long moment. "I could leave," he finally said. "Without convincing you to go back... I could leave you, and let you live in peace with your friends."

"Didn't you come here thinking that you wouldn't ever see me again?" He asked quietly. "I certainly did."

((That was at the beginning, right? The first time he comes into the roleplay? I haven't read the whole thing...))
He shook his head wordlessly.
He shook his head wordlessly.
((I'll be going soon for dinner.))
He closed his eyes for a moment, then opened them again. "Why do you even care anymore, Salem? All I do is hurt you. Why would you care if I were gone?"

He closed his eyes again for a long moment, savoring the words. "You wouldn't believe me if I said what I want to," he murmured.
((Gtg!))
((Gtg!))

"It all depends on what you want to say," she said, her voice low and her eyes sparkling with unshed tears.
((Back!))
He sighed and raised his hand to her face. "I won't say it."
He sighed and raised his hand to her face. "I won't say it."

"I think I know what you want to say...and thank-you," Shadow said, his touch like a flame to her face. She was cold apparently.
He nodded. "You should go back. I'm sure your friends will be waking soon, and I think you don't want them to know about our walk, do you?" He was tempted to make sure she wouldn't tell them by using his gift, but he decided not to.
He shrugged, sitting up. "Alright, then. I'll see you tomorrow."

((You didn't mind the sudden-ish change in Ellis, did you? I kind of didn't feel like making him all evil today. XD))
He watched her and waved. "I'll be around."
Sean wasn't awake yet, but Elly was. She had woken a while ago and was watching Rife sleep, smiling.
