Which LIST book did you just start?
Billiards at Half-Past NineLooking forward to this one as I enjoyed Boll's "Group Portrait with Lady".

Thanks, Bucket. It is so reassuring to know that a helping hand is nearby. Your finishing the series tells me that this is well worth reading.
The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. For some reason I've been avoiding it for a while (this is my second copy - I sold the first unread) but now that I'm into it I'm loving it.
I just started The Island of Dr. Moreau by H.G. Wells. I have a feeling I will be entertained as well as grossed out.
The Labyrinth of Solitude and Other Writings by PazThis one is nonfiction and a thorough discussion of Mexican history. Very interesting.
Just started The Master of Petersburg by J.M. Coetzee. This is my first novel by him. I ordered the book and had to read the first chapter and now I am hooked!

Thank you for the encouragement; I guess while I'm still on summer break I will go back to reading them We can do this!
Hey Deborah... you do know what Camus was really writing about, right? If you don't, the book won't be as special.
Arukiyomi wrote: "Hey Deborah... you do know what Camus was really writing about, right? If you don't, the book won't be as special."I read the reviews and I understand it is ultimately about appreciation for life. Is that what you mean?
By "eeek", I was referring to the rats, the disease, the bodies, etc. before actually getting to the moral of the story. :)
I have recently started Delta of Venus, & Claudine's House....very different genres, they play off each other well....
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Time for something light! I'm re-reading Huckleberry Finn by Twain and expect to be at least as amused as I was when I read it as a young adult.
Just started Moon Palace-Paul Auster, as well as the 2 others....almost done with Claudine's House already, should finish that sometime this morning, very easy read...
Sunny in Wonderland wrote: "Pray for me. Starting Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace."Good luck! I started it once but didn't get there in the end, it was too big to read from. Will have to get it for kindle when I get round to reading it again so that the weight doesn't become an issue.
Decided that since Heart of Darkness is only a 72 page tale, that I'd read that one today & knock it out.....I have read mixed reviews of it...so I'm being open minded....
I just started Vernon God Little last night. I've been waiting to read it for a while.. hopefully it lives up to my expectations.
Just started Life of Pi - can't believe it's taken me this long to get round to reading it! Loving it so far!
Finished both Claudine's House & Heart of Darkness...one is a light, happy read, the other is a pretty dark tale, even though it's short...halfway through Moon palace...easy read as well, his writing is very fluid...
I started Moll Flanders last week but have lost Interest. I cannot get Past the excessive, nonsensical Capitalization.
Cane Cane by Jean Toomer
My first exposure to this author's writing. Very creative, lyrical and sensual.
Reading (and not fully comprehending) Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon. I can't wait to finish this book... it gives me nightmares.
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. This is my third story by him (The Pearl, East of Eden) and I feel like everyone has read this but me so I will get this one done and over with!

*sigh* STILL reading
Stick with it! It is so worth it. I have traveled the IJ path twice and each time brought wonders.Sunny in Wonderland wrote: "Katrina wrote: "Sunny in Wonderland wrote: "Pray for me. Starting Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace."

War and Peace. Wish me luck! I loved Anna Karenina, hopefully I will feel the same about this second Tolstoy tome I am attempting.

I'm enjoying it, but it's actually longer than it looks. I fell asleep last night after being referred to end note 39, which referred me to end note 304, which during the 6 pages of THAT referred me to two other end notes. Which is kind of hysterical when you're in the thick of it. I ran out of page markers! LOL!
Started Aesop's Fables last night as my book to read before bed. Going by very quickly. I put down the The Arabian Nights: Tales from a Thousand and One Nights since I can't get into it.
Also, I started reading Cranford byElizabeth Gaskell this morning. This is my first novel from her so I hope I enjoy it!
Started The Hunchback of Notre-Dame after a long while away from list books. I'm even enjoying the long descriptions of Paris.
