EDIT:
Week 1: Spot No. 7
Book: This Is Who I Am by Cherise Sinclair.
Date Finished: 2/13/14
Rating: ★★★★
Review:
This is who I am by Cheese Sinclair. 7th In the series and it is about H/h who prefer the extreme of BEAM which was a first for me to read, i thought it would b uncomfortable to read but it was very well written. it shows how the heroine just wants to be normal to be accepted but the hero and the other characters show her and help her accept herself and the bad guys or guy from the last several books are still at it.

Hi Elishia,
I updated Message 53, with hopefully the correct format. This is a really good series, this one was not my favorite, but I loved how they brought out the old characters and what's going on there. I am actually more interested reading the next one in the series.

Yes that's fine.
I've read up to book 4 but the next one didn't sound as exciting so I took a break, but this one was recommended to me so might have to pick them back up soon.

This is a 1st in series...

Review:
This book is the first in series
Fourteen-year-old Sophronia is the bane of her mother's existence. Sophronia is more interested in dismantling clocks and climbing trees than proper etiquette at tea--and god forbid anyone see her atrocious curtsy. Mrs. Temminnick is desperate for her daughter to become a proper lady. She enrolls Sophronia in Mademoiselle Geraldine's Finishing Academy for Young Ladies of Quality.
But little do Sophronia or her mother know that this is a school where ingenious young girls learn to finish, all right--but it's a different kind of finishing. Mademoiselle Geraldine's certainly trains young ladies in the finer arts of dance, dress, and etiquette, but also in the other kinds of finishing: the fine arts of death, diversion, deceit, espionage, and the modern weaponries. Sophronia and her friends are going to have a rousing first year at school.
I really didn't hate the book but this is not the genre I normally read, so I didn't care for it much either. I most likely will not be finishing series.

Book: Wild Cards by Simone Elkeles
Series: Wild Cards #1 (and Author last name starts with the letter E).
Date finished: February 15, 2014
Rating: ★★★
Review: This is the first book in a new series by Simone Elekeles and it follows pretty much the same format as her other books: bad boy falls in love with good girl, life throws them some obstacles, and in the end true love conquers all. It was a fairly well-written book (and I'll probably read the other books in the series) but it was clear from the start that the bad boy wasn't really that bad, and the obstacles the young couple faced could have been a little more challenging.

Book: The Fiery Heart

Review:
There was a lot going on in this one it seems like its leading up to something major. I wasn't happy when these new people turned up at the end of the last book but I like Neil now. I don't like Zoey she's way to sneaky, i'm still hoping its because of the tattoo but is probably her dads influence (he's an awful parent), Sydney :'-( I need the next book NOW .
I'm wondering whats going to happen with Jill considering there's still two more books.

Sue, I had a similar reaction to that book. I thought it felt like more of a middle grade book and just a bit too juvenile for me. I wasn't crazy about Soulless, but I thought books 2 and 3 were much better. I still haven't decided if I want to read on in the Etiquette series or not.

Series: Vampire Academy #1
Finished: 2/19/14
Rating: ★★★★
Review: Not your average vampire novel. I appreciated the effort to build in the living vs. undead vampire clans and Rose's role as a guardian. The entire system was pretty cool, though I'm not sure I got all of the specifics down on how they mate and function as a society. Still, I liked Rose and Lissa's bond, and the star crossed lover aspect to Rose's feelings for Dimitri. I'm curious to see where the series goes from here!

Review:
1st in the series and it is a new to me author, so I was hesitant about this book, but it turned out wonderfully well. Gideon is on the run from his destiny as the next alpha and the responsibility it entails in protecting the stone of destiny, and now that he is finally ready to accept it, he is attacked and ends up at Carly's doorstep where thinking he is just a very large dog, takes care of him and turns out to be his mate. Neither are willing to give in to the attraction for their own reasons. The story is a bit different than the usual shifter story, it has a somewhat complicated background on stone of destiny and the enemy is an ancient evil which gets a bit confusing. But the characters in the book really did not let you dwell on it for long, I loved Gideon and Carly, although Gideon wasn't portrayed like an alpha. There is good humor, some good secondary characters and it is a great start to the series, and I can't wait to read the next one.

Book:Until I DiebyAmy Plum 2nd in series
Date Read: 2/22/14
Rating: ★★★★
Review:
Kate and Vincent have overcome the odds and at last they are together in Paris, the city of lights and love.
As their romance deepens there’s one question they can’t ignore: How are they supposed to be together if Vincent can’t resist sacrificing himself to save others? Although Vincent promises that he’ll do whatever it takes to lead a normal life with Kate, will that mean letting innocent people die? When a new and surprising enemy reveals itself, Kate realizes that even more may be at stake—and that Vincent’s immortality is in jeopardy.
In Die for Me, Amy Plum created a captivating paranormal mythology with immortal revenants and a lush Paris setting. Until I Die is poised to thrill readers with more heart-pounding suspense, spellbinding romance, and a cliff-hanger ending that will leave them desperate for the third and final novel in the series.
I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to ending the story in the next...

Book: Life Support by Tess Gerritsen
Series: Medical Thrillers #2
Date finished: February 23, 2014
Rating: ★★★
Review: The second book in the Medical Thrillers series focuses on Dr Toby Harper. One night, a patient goes missing on Dr Harper's watch, and this is the beginning of a complicated mystery with lots of unexpected twists and turns. I liked this book, but it wasn't nearly as good as the first book in the series, or those from her other series.

I really enjoyed this one it was nice seeing Ty and Zane on different territory and free to actually be a couple. Loved all the family times on both sides minus Zanes mum Ty handled her well, glad she doesn't have any power over Zane as well, maybe she'll actually keep quiet from now on. Ty and the tiger was hilarious that whole story line was new for me which was nice.

Book: Time's Twisted Arrow
Rating: ★★★★
Finished: 2/25/14
Review: This was an exciting time travel story about a girl who must travel to 1890s Chicago to correct the timeline that led to the disappearance of her parents and grandmother. In the different time threads there are different love interests and it all got a little confusing at times, but that's the nature of the beast with time travel books. The big baddie's plot to change history to create his own uber religion was pretty cool, and the action bits were fun to read. The book got a little bogged down in the middle and lost momentum, meaning our heroine didn't travel back in time until the last quarter of the book, which was a bit of a disappointment. I didn't need the day-to-day interactions with her boyfriend and his school projects - I wanted to get to the time travel! Still, it was a very fun book and I'd like to find out if Kate and company can stop the Cyrists, so I will probably read on in the series.

Book: Operation: Tempt Me by Christina James.
Read: 2/27/14
Rating: 3 Stars
Review:
This is the second in the series and a re-read for me. One of my pet peeves is reading books out of order in a series, and somehow I read this before book 1, so now that I had gone back last month to read book 1, I just wanted to read this again, and I originally gave it 4 stars, which now I think I am changing to 3. It is a good book, but overall not 4 star material, I tried to think as to why I gave it such a higher rating, but really couldn't come with it since I read it two years ago. Cambrie and Miller become penpals while Miller is away on a military mission and they both have an instant connection, and they finally meet and there was a lot of sex, cute story but nothing that jumps out of the page to wow you. There was something off for me, I think the heroine for one annoyed me at time. I loved Miller on the other hand.
