We could start soon, like Monday? I'm not picky. I actually was able to get a copy that I can keep. I read the prologue and the writing is superb. I think I'm gonna like this!
If your copy is one that you can keep, are you OK to start this one next weekend? I'm reading Summer of Night right now and it is a long one and I need to focus on finishing it before it's due.
I am willing to start anytime. So many books, so little time. Its always possible to start 2-3 more books in the meantime.
Sure. Next weekend is fine. I'll get a jumpstart on the shining and finish up a couple more reads I'm working on.
I may actually start Sunday night or Monday. I'm 85% done with Summer of night which is really great at that point.
I'm not very far, 3%, but this is really interesting. Alot of characters to keep track of. I'm kinda writing notes as I go along.
I've previously read the first 50 pages twice and gave up both times when the character list started getting big. I'm gonna concentrate on the Shining for a few days, but will keep up with the 25% per week.
No. I have crappy cable, but I really haven't had an interest in it til recently. Do u have the kindle version? I'm still writing notes but in my version every character name is underlined and if I tap on it, it takes me to a page and tells me who they are.
I'm not as far as I hoped, so still don't know what's going on. I'm 3% into it. It seems like their world has seven (or nine) year summers and winters. The kid that watched the beheading was 7 and was born two years into summer. I'm not going to make a big effort to remember names. My friend at work told me that people get killed off a lot.
Yes, I haven't got back to it yet as I'm trying to finish The Passage, another epic read. I left at 7%, and to my surprise I love it! The queens brother, the dwarf is an interesting character and I like the bastard child. I think he could be the rebellious type.
I am also liking Jon the bastard child and the dwarf. I have the feeling they will fly under the radar yet be very instrumental in the story. I'm 12% now.
Ok. Finished The Passage which was an awesome book if anyone hasn't already read it. Now I can focus on this one. Prob wont get to 25%, but that's ok. Will be resuming tomorrow so I may be blowing up this thread...lol.
I'm 17%. It's the only thing I'm reading, but I've been having some interruptions to my reading time.
I'm about 10%. Joffrey is a little shit...lol. I don't see him or Robb getting along....ever. I dont like the Lannisters either. They seem like a crude bunch.
Wow, what did u think of what they did to the boy mycah and poor Lady, though I'm glad it was Ned and not Lannister's ppl. Ned was smart in that aspect. I really hope the Queen gets it at some point. They are soo evil!
Unfortunately, skips away from the Lannisters for a while. I'm about 28% now. Bran is making a very interesting recovery and Jon is adapting to the wall. I have the feeling there will be supernatural elements to this book but other than the intro chapter I haven't seen anything.
I see what you mean about Tyrion...could it really have been his idea to rid of the boy? Somehow I feel there is more to it.
I've only read the first two books of the series, but Tyrion Lannister is my favourite character. That was a great moment when he slapped Joffrey. ;)
Gonna try to read to 40% tonight. I feel bad because its all I want to read...lol. I'm glad I didn't join any group reads. I've watched some clips of the show thru YouTube and it looks amazing.
