I'm at 24%. Put it aside for a few days to get some other things read but now I'm itching to read about Tyrion and Sansa's wedding.

I found the Davos chapter interesting. The part that it takes a king's blood to raise a dragon. I was thinking there must be something to that in Danny's story where the eggs hatched in Drogo's funeral Pyre. Also the bit about the leeches into the brazier! Foreshadowing? I've heard some spoilers about this book and now I'm really interested in pushing through.

I haven't gotten to the leeches other than when the guy in the beginning talks about becoming the Lord of Leeches with 12 leeches (just like the 12 for a penny when he was a child) on a pink background (skin). I sincerely hope that does not come to pass, but I will have to read to see!

Tonight I watched the season 4 finale. Oh my goodness! It was great! I was on pins and needles the entire time.

I'm not sure exactly where I'm at since I'm reading my kindle version that has all five books in one. One there is says I'm at 47% but that's the entire first book, the entire second book, and I'm thinking close to half the book of A Storm of Swords.

I have to say we are catching up quickly to the HBO series. I see why people are saying the HBO series get to the ending of the fifth book before he finishes and releases the sixth and seventh books.

So we have a name for Jon Snow's mother. I'm thinking there is more to this little story about him.

Now that Sansa and Tyrion's wedding happened a lot of stuff is going to happen. A lot!

I felt so bad for Tyrion on his wedding night. He was really trying to be kind. I know his is suppose to be ugly and even more so with the scar and his nose but this poor little man, that is intelligent and has much more sense than the other Lannisters.

The Tyrion and Sansa wedding is good but there is so much more that's going to happen.

well, they changed the character of Shae from the book. She wasn't that way in the book as in the series. She was more like Tyrion's first wife.

There is a lot of changed in the HBO series from the book. I'm kind of happy to watch the show first then read the book.

First of all the poor girl getting married and about the bedding ritual. I thought it was funny about Catelyn thinking back to her wedding night about Jory Cassell and Lord Dustin. When Lord Dustin remarking to Ned about her breast how when he rode off with Ned to the South and never returned. Oh goodness. Ned has the last word with him, lol.

Okay, the Red Wedding, please if you haven't read it don't read this.

(view spoiler)[Rob's death. Honestly, I didn't see it coming in the series. It was one of the most intense parts. Just shocking! Then to read about it. Wow! Now there is some changes in the HBO series and the book. Jinglebell's dead is for sure different, that was a twist for me in reading this.

Poor Catelyn, could you imagine thinking most of your kids are dead. That was an interesting read, totally kept me going going going. To watch it on the series is great. (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

Joffrey's an ass. He is so evil. How he wants Robb's head for his wedding to make Sansa kiss it. He's just horrible.

I love Tyrion's remark, "Kings are dying like flies." lol. That's so good. I love that little man. He's totally one of my favorites.

About Dany, wow, that's is totally different from the HBO series. She is betrayed not by one but two. Ser Jorah and Ser Barristan, both banished. Ouch. Poor Dany. I see wonderful things happening from her.

Okay, so how morbid is sewing on the direwolf's head on Robb's body? That's so wrong.

Oh my! I'm so happy, major happy dance. He is the perfect villain. At the age of 13, imagine what it would be like if he lived. I'm happy Sansa has gotten away but you know they will be after her.

Chapter 63 Davos VI page 857-868.

I loved how Davos let Edric Storm go. That was great character of him to do that.

We also find out that Joffrey was crazy from day one. It's sad that when he was really young he learned about the cat going to have kittens that he is curious and cuts out the kittens then shows it to his father. The king ends up hitting him for it. He is just horrible. I'm so happy he was killed off. This was the biggest victory in the book, ever.

I didn't realize Queen (lady) Margaey is only 16 years old. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 66, Tyrion IX page 894-912

(view spoiler)[ When on trial this is totally different from the HBO series. It's important that Ser Kevan is the one that gives the message to Tyrion about pleading guilty and end up to go on the wall. Also it's important about Prince Oberyn (Red Vipor) about Cersei trying to buy his vote in the judgment and mentioning marriage to her. The Vipor talks more about his family and Tyrion helps clarifying some things. This is where he says he will fight for him.

I do like how loyal Tyrion is to Sansa saying she wasn't guilty either. He really is a good guy. Well, a kinder Lannister than any of them.

Varys is very snaky in this one. His testimony is strong. He is a crafty one. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 68 Sansa VI page 927-946

Poor Sansa. I feel so bad for her. He is in the clitches of Littlefinger. I use to loathe her but now I can't help to feel really bad for her. Her aunt is bonkers. Interesting to learn that the Queen of Thorns poisoned Joffrey when she took one of the amethysts from Sansa's hair net. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 70 Tyrion X page 960-977

(view spoiler)[Talk about betryal. Poor Tyrion. Shae really screwed him over. She really throws Tyrion and Sansa under the bus. I can't believe she claims she was a girl good and innocent before he came along and abused her then made her a whore. Then the lies about "Giant of Lannister", wow. That had to have stung. Everyone was laughing." It's so sad that he loved her.

I love the fight with Oberyn and Gregor. That's really good. I didn't see that happening. I was really shocked about that one. Wow! (hide spoiler)]


Chapter 71 Daenerys VI pages 977-996

That sucks she has to get Ser Jorah and Ser Barristan back. But she needs them to fight. It's nice that Barristan is on her side and with fight for her. Jorah is banished. I think she should have had him killed too, or locked up or something because I think he will come back to mess up her plans. I think it's wise of her to learn to be a Queen. Very smart. Chapter 72 Jaime IX pages 996-1011

(view spoiler)[ Wow! I can't believe he said to Brienne that Joffrey meant nothing to him. That he was just seed in Cersei. He didn't like Joffrey and that he is happy for the death. That he wants to be redeemed in that act of trying to have the Stark girls. Jaime is really turning around. I'm beginning to like him. Oathkeeper. I think this is a major turning point. That he has the fate of kings. Very interesting. He makes and takes away kings.

I hope that Cersei goes to Casterly Rock.

They both had a hand in trying to kill Bran Stark. Jaime for tossing out the window and Cersei for the assassination but it wasn't Cersei it was Joffrey. I love that she tries to get in his pants and he rejects her. (hide spoiler)]

1. It was the Mountain at Harrenhal who wud pick out prisoners to kill, but was it in the book?
2. It was Tywin who shows up at Harrenhal and takes Arya as his servant, but wasn't it some grotesque cook who took her in?
3. Wildfire was Cersei's idea in the show but wasn't it Tyrion's in the book?

I finished it two hours ago. Amazing book! So much happens. I really can't wait to read the second book but I have a bunch of others to read, so I will wait. But Yes, I'm finally ahead of the HBO series. I know what will happen in season 5, amazing stuff!

Chapter 74 Arya XIII page 1027-1042 (87%)

(view spoiler)[Arya, really is becoming a warrior. The way she killed, heck they had to pull her off while she stabbing. Of course she just learned about the death of her mother, brother Robb, the marriage of Sansa and Tyrion, and death of Joffrey. That’s a lot to deal with.

The coin she got from Jaqen H'ghar really came into play. I wonder what it means. Ternesio Terys, the captain of the Titan’s Daughter, was pretty adamant about not going to the night’s watch. He gave her a cabin and free passage on the ship to Braavos. He said, “valar dohaeris.” What does that mean? Urgh this book! All these cliffhangers!

So, this might be bad of me. I didn’t remember or know what Valar morghulis means. Did they even say what it means? I looked it up and perhaps I shouldn’t have

I can’t believe Stannis offers Jon to be Lord of Winterfell. Val to be his wife. Jon is smart to refuse that wedding. I wonder if Jon will take him up on his offer for Lord of Winterfell. The boys are still alive, what will happen when that truth comes forward?

Chapter 77 Tyrion XI pages 1062- 1074 (91%)

I love that Jaime comes to save his brother and tells him the truth of his first wife. It’s so sad. Tywin is a jerk, major jerk. I’m so happy Tyrion is going to get them back for this. He also lied about killing Joffrey. I’m sure just to pain Jaime.

Wow, he sees Shae in his father’s bed (his old bed). The Hand’s chain of office around her throat. Bad mistake.

I honestly think Tyrion lost it. Learning about his first wife and Shae’s betrayal a reminder of my giant Lannister.

Tywin deserved it, especially on his throne, lol. Lord Tywin didn’t shit gold. I can’t stop laughing that’s so funny. Now that’s another major villain dead. Hmm, who will now come into the role villain? (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 78 Samwell V pages 1074- 1087 (92%)

This is very deadly secrets for Sansa to hear and I hope Petyr doesn’t take it out on her later on.

What an epic death. Amazing. Only one woman he has ever loved then it’s her sister and he shoves her. Oh man, down down down that epic Moon Door. (hide spoiler)]

Re: the red wedding. I had a friend say that's when he stopped reading it. It's painful to read, but I like the book too much to stop. Lots of great story lines goin on still.
