Scott (ttownscott) Busy weekend. Haven't had time to read past the first chapter!

message 303: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Me neither, but its ok. I think I'm gonna take it slow this time.

Scott (ttownscott) I'm just 5% in. There is an interesting think with Aeron Greyjoy drowning people and they are still alive. I could not tell if they resuscitated them with cpr or if they are like living dead.

I did not do a spoiler for this one since it is right at the beginning of the book.

message 305: by Scott (new) - rated it 5 stars

Scott (ttownscott) I'm not very true to my word. I'm flying through this book. At 15% now. I think Arya's story is going to be interesting.

Addy | 1944 comments Cool! I just got the audio book for joining kindle unlimited. I thought it wud be neat to listen to it, so I picked it. Hopefully I'll start soon.

message 307: by Scott (new) - rated it 5 stars

Scott (ttownscott) I may consider kindle unlimited. Starting a new job in August where instead of an hour bus commute I can walk to work. May need to switch from reading to listening now.

message 308: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments Yeah, it wud be a good investment. Lots of titles come with audio:)

I haven't started this yet. I've got quite a lot to get through this year, another 80+ books by my calculations to get all my challenges completed.
I'll try and start next week.

message 310: by Scott (new) - rated it 5 stars

Scott (ttownscott) Yeah, these long books really cut into completing a certain number of challenge books. I'm behind in my goal and it's entirely because most of what I have read this year have been long books.

Addy | 1944 comments Any guesses for who the alchemist is?

message 312: by Scott (new) - rated it 5 stars

Scott (ttownscott) How far are you? I don't remember the alchemist. I'm 39%

message 313: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments It was in the very beginning. I've just started.

message 314: by Scott (last edited Aug 04, 2014 10:50AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Scott (ttownscott) I'm at 60%. A lot of coverage of Brienne and Csersi/Jamie with a little Sam and Arya thrown in. Oh, and the Kracken's are scrabbling for control up north.

My loan ran out, so I'll wait to pick up either another library loan on kindle or just read the paperback until others start catching up.

message 315: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I'm finding it hard to listen and not be able to follow along with a book. I might have to hold off until I can get the book.

I might have to delay starting on this. I haven't caught up with my reads for this year. :(

message 317: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I finally bought the book, pb version. Only on pg30 so way behind. As long as I finish this b4 the new season, I'll think I'll be ok.

message 318: by Scott (new) - rated it 5 stars

Scott (ttownscott) Ha, I'm 75%. I start a new job in September so wanted to finish it while I still have the long commute. I won't spoil anything, but will say that I'm a little worried for Arya, and I am seeing some foreshadowing for probably the book after Dance with Dragons.

message 319: by Addy (new)

Addy | 1944 comments I feel like the battle between the iron lands, Victorian, damphair, euron, and Asha has been ignored in the series. I wonder if it will be touched on at all. Not complaining as the series right now has been amazing, but just wondering.

I think they are casting Euron for season 6. I'm disappointed that the Greyjoys have been ignored on the show(so far). I really liked their parts in the books.

Addy | 1944 comments Yes, I agree:)
