I got it today! There is a new book out soon with Cat as the main character too. :)

Bianca,
I have read the latest Emily Giffin book. I understood it because my profession as Athletic Training for a while so I worked with coaches and sports information people. I found the coach and young daughter connection a little on the creepy side.

Jency, I'm sorry you're going through a difficult time right nowI Keep us in the loop, and we'll keep you in our thoughts.
Glad to hear everything is going well Kourtney, I know I owe you an email.
I had the stent out on Tuesday and it was not anything near what I had built up in my head. Before going in, they told me the anesthesia they would be giving me is called Twilight Anesthesia and only said it was much easier to wake up from. I, of course, had to Google it and my takeaway from that was that you're not asleep, just super relaxed and still able to follow directions. However, you can't form any new memories. That freaked the hell out of my inner control freak. So, I avoided thinking about it as much as possible. Avoidance worked pretty well, but I was still super nervous going into it.
The nurses had troubles getting the IV to work. Apparently I have the worst veins in the world, you should see my arms where they tried one and failed and had to use the other. Both arms sport matching almost-as-big-as-a-lime sized bruises. Yeah, that was fun. Luckily, that was the worst part. They wheeled me in, put a breathing tube in my nose and shot me up with the anesthesia (which felt like fire going through my vein for the first few seconds). I'm laying there getting super sleepy, staring at the ceiling tiles trying to stay awake. Then I think, what the hell am I doing? If I can sleep through this, then go to sleep! So I close my eyes and the next thing I know, there are voices - male and female. I'm not paying that close attention because I'm tired and want to go back to sleep. I can tell they're talking about me but don't pay a whole lot of attention until I hear the nurse say they can discharge me after I wake up. That was the prod I needed. My eyes shot open and I said, "I'm awake!" I was out of there within half an hour.
Before I had the stent out, I kept feeling this discomfort in my side and I had a lot of back pain. I never said anything to the doctor other than in the beginning. He had said at that time that it may be my body not liking the foreign object. So I've chalked it up to that. I'd experience the pain or discomfort (not too bad, but bad enough to be really, really annoying) on an almost daily basis, and I was really sick of it. But, since Tuesday, I haven't had any issues with back pain or discomfort in my side, so it really must have been the stent. I'm so happy to finally feel completely good. :) Just in time for my NKOTB/Nelly/TLC concert at the end of the month. :)

With that being said...THE BABY HAS DROPPED! According to everything I've read this means the baby could be coming in 2-4 weeks. I AM FREAKING OUT! Not sure if I'm ready for this!

Tara, I heard that too. :( I'm sad Alyssa Milano won't be in it anymore. Something about how they're moving the set to Canada due to budgets, and Milano can't relocate her family right now. Which is understandable, but still!!!
Oh and yes, I love that Holly Marie Combs is on Pretty Little Liars. :) I've never seen her in anything before PLL, and after I started Charmed I freaked out haha. Love her!

Julie, I feel the same way. I also keep getting distracted by The Office, which I started watching all over again.

Jencey, are you okay?! Have you heard anything? That's so scary--keeping you in my thoughts!!!
And yeah, I thought their connection was creepy too. But I couldn't help but loving Coach Carr!!

AHHH KOURTNEY!! So exciting!!!! I want to know your baby's name as soon as you can tell us. :)
Stacy, I'm glad you're feeling better finally. That's so stressful and frustrating you had to deal with all of that. :( But at least you're doing better just in time for Memorial Weekend!
Sorry for all the posts--I haven't been on in a while, and I thought it was easier for me to respond to all comments separately as I read them. :)

Kourt - it is super scary, but you'll be fine! Don't hesitate to ask the nurses any questions or for any help with anything while you're in the hospital. That's what they're there for! I asked them to show me how to give Morgan a bath because I was terrified I would break her!

Oh my gosh, Jencey. Keep us in the loop and let us know if there's anything we can do, seriously. We'll definitely keep you in our thoughts and hope and pray everything comes through ok. Shows to get lost in? Have you watched Game of Thrones? It's totally not something I would've watched on my own if it wasn't for Greg, but I am so hooked now. Unfortunately, it's not on Netflix, but if you have a device that you can get HBO GO - or is it HBO NOW, I can't remember - I believe you can watch all the seasons. It's something like $15/month, a little pricey, but you have access to all HBO shows. There are a few on there that we've been meaning to check out.
Another show that's great is Burn Notice - there are seven seasons of it and it's on Netflix. It has just the right combo of spy/romance/comedy/blow shit up DIY to keep pretty much anyone interested.

Jencey--I am sending you healing thoughts & saying a prayer for you. Know that you are not alone.....all of us in the group are here for you if you need to escape, vent, talk, etc.
Kourtney--HOW EXCITING! I actually watched my grandson for a few hours tonight. He is the cutest thing ever!
Stacy--NKOTB? I bet you'll have fun. My soon to be daughter-in-law won tickets to Madonna a few weeks ago. Her & my son will be going to her concert in October!
And one last thing--is anyone else still on track for weight loss this year? I know we had a separate discussion thread, but I was too lazy to go look for it (sorry). Personally, I have been kicking butt! I am down a little over 41 pounds since the first of the year!
Take care Ladies.....although I'm not online very much lately, know that I think of you all often & I really enjoy the cyber-friendships we have forged!
:)
I would LOVE to go see Madonna! I hope she has a blast!!
You're doing awesome with your weight loss Julie! I haven't found the motivation to start yet myself. :( I was waiting to get the all clear for regular activity, and I did, but then it was coming up on Morgan's birthday and I had to practice making "sorting cupcakes" for her Harry Potter party. And my boyfriend's son's birthday is just a few days before Morgan's so I had to practice making D20 dice cakes (or brownies in his case). Needles to say, we had a lot of sweets around the house. Now, I can finally start something. I still plan to use your plan Julie, I just have to go back through the message and find it. :)

Kourtney I hope the events leading up to birth have gone well.
Stacy: Have fun with Birthdays!

Thank you Julie! Just taking it a day at a time.
Continuing to send healing thoughts your way Jencey! Everything sounds pretty overwhelming for you right now, let us know if there's anything we can do. And remember, just take it one day at a time.

Thankfully he thinks she is in a head down position already, so we don't have to worry about that - and given all my kicks are now in the ribs I tend to agree. He is estimating that we will go past our due date, which means one more week and then we will be scheduling me to be induced.
I am scared out of my mind! I'm going to be focusing on reading as much as I can for fun to keep my mind off of things. Skimming through one book now and then I will be reading The Status of All Things by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke!
She'll be here before you know it Kourt! I went past my due date by fourish days. And let me tell you, when your water breaks, it's not always like it is in the movies and on TV. Sometimes, it's a slow trickle that you don't notice because it seems at the end, there's always something going on down there anyway that you have to wear pantyliners for. (At least I did.) So I didn't know it had broken, but I did notice there was more going on than there had been. So when I had my next doctor's appointment, they were going to just send me on my way until I asked bout it. They did a quick ultrasound and found out that yes, my water had indeed broken and the fluid level was really low. I was told to get to the hospital NOW. It scares me to think what might've happened had I not said anything.
Moral of the story: Pay super close attention to what's going on with your body, and don't be afraid to ask questions.
I'm so excited for you guys!!

With both of my boys my water never broke.....the doctor had to break it after I was already in labor.
Moral of the story: everyone is different & she'll come when she's ready! :)
Not a random thought, but I just wanted to let everyone know that Kourtney had her baby this morning! Congrats Mommy!!
So I know I've talked about this show in this/other (?) threads, but does anyone watch Game of Thrones? Tomorrow night is the last episode and it's already killing me that I'm going to have to wait another year for the next season. This is a show that I missed the first two or three seasons because it just didn't look like something I'd be interested in watching. Holy crap I was wrong. Way wrong. I introduced my brother to it a month or so ago and he and my sister-in-law got so hooked, they practically binged watched it and are all caught up to season five. That's 40 episodes!

Julie wrote: "That's so funny Stacy.....my bf watched the first few episodes a few weeks ago & got hooked. He watched it every night & on the weekends & got all caught up as well. He loves it!"
It's such an awesome show because, while there are some nasty things taking place, it completely breaks all the "rules" of normal TV shows. You really just don't know what is going to happen next. Unless, you've read the books. But even then, HBO has gone off the rails a bit and doesn't follow the books to a T.

After all that "baby hasn't dropped you have a couple of weeks" hoo-hah she came! Scott had just left for work not even 10 minutes prior and POOF water water everywhere and not a drop to drink :)
Katherine was born on 6/11 at 4:02am - 5 lbs 15 oz and 19 1/4 inches long. Only 2 hours of pushing as the contractions made me vomit throughout delivery which in turn helped me push her out. As I threw up at one point, the heaving popped her right out! Everyone in the delivery room couldn't stop laughing!
We got home late Saturday and have been adjusting to our new life. Naturally my neighbor picked up a package for us while we were at the hospital - Meg Cabot's new one (Royal Wedding) and Sophie Kinsella's new one (Finding Audrey) both taunting me!!! :)

I have some exciting news, too! I got engaged last week! My boyfriend (now fiance!) and I were on vacation in California and he proposed on a cliff overlooking the ocean. It was beautiful and absolutely perfect! We haven't set a date yet, but it will be sometime next year.

Congrats, Suzanne!

I'm so happy for you guys! Happy Father's Day to Scott! And I'm glad that labor didn't last very long for you, because I can't imagine that the vomiting made it any easier. Other than pushing her out. :) And Katherine is a beautiful name, what a way to honor both of your mothers! She's such a beautiful little girl!
