And Time Stood Still
The Highwayman

Coralie Clune is an incredible author who writes very much like Danielle Steel.

message 10: by Kevis (last edited Jan 12, 2014 08:48PM) (new)

Kevis Hendrickson (kevishendrickson) | 47 comments Sweet Romance/Cozy Mysteries/Science Fiction Romance: I've loved everything I've read from Maureen A. Miller. I can't recommend her work enough.

High Tide by Maureen A. Miller

Horror: Anything, and I do mean, anything written by Allison M. Dickson. I'd recommend starting with Taste. Totally blew my mind when I read it.

Taste (Consumption Trilogy, #1) by Allison M. Dickson

Lit-fic: If Uke Jackson wrote it, it's worth reading. I'm especially fond of this one.

The Moon of Innocence by Uke Jackson

If you love Regency Romance, then Jaimey Grant is your author. My favorite book of hers.

Heartless by Jaimey Grant

Erotic Romance/Erotica: Never was a fan of erotica until I read the books of Kathryn Morgan Parry. Her books are smart, dark, and steamy. One of the best from her.

Enslaved In the Snow by Kathryn Morgan Parry

Other authors you don't want to miss:

Cecilia Robert (YA Romance/Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance)

K.J. Colt (Fantasy)

Chrystalla Thoma (Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance)

Melanie Nowak (Paranormal Romance)

Colin Taber (Epic Fantasy)

YA you could try The Dreamweaver's Journey or The Mage's Tomb

I liked Lisa Shea although I am not sure if she is a SPA.

Sci-fi I'll recommend Marlowe and the Spacewoman and Shadow of the Wraith

message 17: by Shaun (new)

Shaun Horton | 248 comments I can suggest my sci-fi/horror novel Class 5

message 19: by B.B. (new)

B.B. Shepherd (bbshepherd) | 27 comments Hi Jen, my book The Glister Journals Bronze by B.B. Shepherd is contemporary YA but more on the Lit side than most of the genre. The main character is a little different as she is on the Autism spectrum but is otherwise just a normal girl. In the first book she is quite young, just fourteen and starting high school, but the series grows up with her. :)

Sam Quentin | 3 comments You could try my thriller Solid Rock The links are below. It's an action thriller. Like Lee Child v Michael Crichton.

amzn.to/1eBaWwN UK- http://amzn.to/1j6uFm6

What's it about?
Jeff Draid is a geek genius. He's made a piece of hardware that will leave America's enemies nowhere left to hide.

It should make him rich but from the edge of triumph he is thrown into a nightmare of violence and fear.

Hunted by killers, and wanted by the Government Draid has to answer just one question.

When there is no place left to hide, where do you run?

What are Amazon reviewers saying already:
"The story grabs you from the start, a well thought out plot that moves along at breakneck speed. Plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing,"

"It has an original plot, great characters and, just when you think you have worked it out, the story moves on and throws up more twists..."

message 29: by L.L. (new)

L.L. Watkin (LLWatkin) | 20 comments Hi Jen

I've just published the second book in my Handmaiden series. If you're quick it's currently free on Kindle!#

The series is a mix of paranormal horror and science fiction elements, blending ghosts and witches with a futuristic setting. It might be a bit on the violent side for young adult, but there's no explicit material.

message 36: by Ron (new)

Ron Albury | 56 comments Enemy Combatant

I'll go ahead and post a little self-promotion. This book is based on the award winning (1st Place, Terror Film Festival) movie script I wrote. It is actually an action thriller, but was embraced by the horror genre because of the unfiltered telling of the story.

It currently has 8 ratings on Goodreads for an average score of 4.5. These are real ratings, not friends, family, or sock puppets. Hopefully it will get additional reviews soon.

Karen GoatKeeper (goodreadscomkaren_goatkeeper) | 21 comments Perhaps I will get in on this list. I have two middle grade novels out: Broken Promises and Old Promises.

And I just met Ross Malone, a self published author who writes on Missouri history, odd things. He has Tales From Missouri and the Heartland; This Day in Missouri History; Mysterious Missouri; The Intrepid; and Tobias and the Governor. They will be joining my To Read list as they sound very interesting.

Tamie Dearen (tamied) | 25 comments I have several clean romantic comedies, Her Best Match and Best Dating Rules, and a young adult fantasy, Alora, that should be out next month. Check my website, where you can read samples. If you are interested, I'll send a free copy. You don't even have to write a review. I mostly want your feedback.
Thanks!

message 42: by Dee (last edited Jan 22, 2014 04:00PM) (new)

Dee Waite (deeannwaite) Hi Jen, I have a little something different... an action adventure thriller. This book plays to the full range of emotions; the characters and storyline are so real you feel as if you're reading non-fiction. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll become angry, and you'll become enlightened. Danielle Montgomery proves that women not only survive but emerge as victors from the battles of life. A strong, moving, and emotional ride on a fast paced, action packed, thrill ride from the streets of Boston to the jungles of the Congo. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... Check out the strong Goodreads reviews, as well as the more than dozen 5* reviews on Amazon. amzn.to/17qT2an

message 43: by Riley (new)

Riley Graham (rileygraham) | 3 comments Hi Jen,

Thanks for posting this topic. I'm assuming we're allowed to post our own works here, so I'll do that as well as another self-published title I'm reading.

Here are the links to my recently published book, a contemporary young adult romance:

Goodreads: http://bit.ly/1cSgAZt
Amazon: http://amzn.to/181jhTz

And I'm also recommending Wrecked by Elle Casey:

Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Wrecked-Elle-Ca...

I am hoping to read and review more self-published titles this year (especially by lesser-known authors) so I'll check in when I can to add and pull from your list.

Thank you so much!
