Seriously I think in a lot of my progress thoughts I'm like omg Riley stfu ya know? But I still enjoy the books and give them a 4 star rating. Cause they are really good and I definitely don't know where it's going or who is the suspect. That part is nice, but the romance part she is so obtuse.

I do that all the time!! It's really bad when you have to work the next day. But when a book is really good, it's so hard to stop. One more chapter turns into 2 more hours!!

Speaking of PNR have you ever noticed a lot of the werewolf books regarding getting a mate are usually like minimal plot, and lots of sex? It seems like an overwhelming majority which is why I absolutely love the Phoenix pack and the Mangus pack, now those are some good pnrs with plots. There was another one too....uh......not the breeds, these guys were special forces but a werewolf shifter division, they got a lot of drama going on there. Something with labs for sure. I really enjoyed those ones too. I'm sure it's in my shifter shelf if I looked lol. But have you checked out that series? Or noticed this trend? Like most of these books are like 200 pages which are a like a sneeze to me lol.

Belkis (bminaya) | 8313 comments So I finished The Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycle, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater and loved it as much as the first one, if not more. Such an intricate story. What an imagination. Can't wait for the next book. Then I moved onto Ceaseless (Existence Trilogy, #3) by Abbi Glines and I enjoyed it too. Next up Castle Hill (On Dublin Street, #2.5) by Samantha Young so I can bring this series up to date to. Still feeling the afterglow from Before Jamaica Lane which was really really good.

Laura (llbasaldua) | 790 comments I liked it,but was a bit weird I flt like it was to centered on one character, not that I dont like Ronan but IF shs going to give them all a story then it would be nice to have the full story instead of more mystery. I like the series so far but the more mystery at the end of each book is annoying me!

I really liked Blood Red Road, and being a southerner and living in the mountains of NC, the dialogue felt like talking to a neighbor, so it was no problem for me..haha, I hear this dialogue everyday. However, the second book was a disappointment for me. I just thought the story kind of fell apart in book two and the things that made book 1 interesting were missing in the second one, maybe it will improve for the ending, but it fell flat in the middle.. IMO

I'm from Tennessee and you would think I could have related better than most but nah. We really don't talk that way but in books and movies they portray us like that. I felt the same frustration Laura. And it's really hard to follow at times with so much mystery being heaped on top of mystery. Another 4 star read just like the first one. But the writing is SO beautiful. It's like reading a painting.

Danielle (Danniegurl) (danniesreads) | 1326 comments Finished The Darkest Kiss (Riley Jenson Guardian, #6) by Keri Arthur onto Deadly Desire (Riley Jenson Guardian, #7) by Keri Arthur though I may have to take a break. I read the synopsis of the coming books and got a lot of vital info that probably gives away the next book and that irritates me why do books put what happened in previous books in their synopsis they could have been a bit more ominous rather that out right saying what happens ugh. So I may need a break I might not we shall see. If I do I'll go to one of my fillers.

Yes Laura I totally agree. Loved the audios of both. But book 2 was somehow even more layered, more intense, more, MORE. That's why I took my time listening to it and only listened to it once I was relaxed and in bed so I could focus and savor it. Honestly there is so much happening as far as different threads of the story being woven and twisted that you find yourself straining to not miss anything. Not a single second. I thoroughly enjoyed it. That narrator is brilliant. He adds the perfect voice, intonation, and emotion to the story's atmosphere.
