The cover is fantastic. And many of my friends enjoyed it. But it's SO slow and there's just too much focus on the romance. It is ruining the story.

And it's not even good romance, to boot. It's just kind of over the top. I will finish it, but it won't get high ratings from me.

That's what attracted me to YA, the lack of heavy romance. However when there's a lot AND it's not good....bummer.

Nicole D. (thereadingrebel) | 969 comments finished Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer which I loved and thought was a perfect end the series.

Also listened to The Chimes by Charles Dickens and really loved it. Not as great as the Christmas Carol.

currently listening to The Spanish Bride by Georgette Heyer . I restarted it after not getting into a few months ago. Currently really loving it. You can tell the author did soooooo much research. Hope to finish it before the end of the year and maybe read another short story.

Almost done with Sword and Verse (Sword and Verse, #1) by Kathy MacMillan . Thank goodness. 92% in so I will finish today. I will start The Isle (The Ward, #2) by Jordana Frankel when I get home b/c I only have it in print. And I will just read Chasing Impossible by Katie McGarry for the rest of the day since I'm about 30% into that. I also want to start Oblivion (Lux, #1.5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout because what could possibly be BAD about Daemon's POV?????

Thanks, Tracy. I got my very first library card yesterday. My whole state has only 40,000 e-books (which means NF, Fiction, all genres). So this is what I could find that was a whole series!

Tracy, you should definitely give this a go. I loved it! It's been a while since I've read a book in a day let alone hours. I love the Fantasy genre and I haven't read a good one since The False Prince. 2015 has not been a good book year for me:(

I'm so sad to be on the last book The Immortal Heights (The Elemental Trilogy, #3) by Sherry Thomas . I love that I don't have to wait as the series is complete since I'm totally addicted to it! Thank you to whoever it was on this thread that mentioned it.

Finished Chasing Impossible by Katie McGarry and it was really great. McGarry gets me every time. Although I am not as enamored with her Thunder Road series as this one. I really need to read Breaking the Rules (Pushing the Limits, #1.5) by Katie McGarry but Noah and Echo weren't ever my favorite characters.

Blaze of Memory (Psy-Changeling #7) by Nalini Singh 3 star

Finally got The Winner's Curse (The Winner's Trilogy, #1) by Marie Rutkoski 3 1/2 stars

Now I just started The Young Elites (The Young Elites, #1) by Marie Lu which will probably be my last book of 2015!

Thanks Ash, I've read all except the last one. I think I got tired of waiting and lost interest for some reason. I welcome any awesome fantasy recommendations. Before anyone says The Fallen Kingdom series, because I know everyone here has raved about it. I did read book 1 and wasn't impressed enough to continue. Too many POV's amongst other reasons but it just wasn't for me.

Yeah I'm about 3/4 through now - enjoying it but definitely not as good as FK which is one of my fave series. I was really annoyed that the ebook was $13.90AU on Amazon - I thought that was just getting ridiculous...ended up getting the audio which is a pretty good narration

That's a shame Tiana but I guess each to their own! Was it the multiple POVs or the alternating POV chapters you didn't like? I know it can be a little frustrating at times being left hanging after a chapter and not being able to return to that POV for another two or three chapters - or in the case of A Song of Ice and Fire another two books!!!

I like seeing different POVs in fantasy though, particularly if there's a really complicated world being explored it can be hard for one character to carry the story on their own - the only one I can think of off the top of my head that's done one POV successfully is the Grisha trilogy.

Some others you might be interested in that don't have too many POVs are Stolen Songbird (The Malediction Trilogy, #1) by Danielle L. Jensen (2 alternating 1st person POVs), An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1) by Sabaa Tahir (2 alternating 1st person POVs) and The Wrath and the Dawn (The Wrath and the Dawn, #1) by Renee Ahdieh (multiple 3rd person but mainly follows the MC with bits from other characters)
