I'm currently reading and almost done with The Man without a face
., The movie is one of my favorites of all time, and this book is great, but short, so far. After that I'll finally continue the Darren Shan Cirque Du Freak series since my order came in.
I'm just starting the fifth and final book in the Cazalet Chronicles series All Change. I've really loved this family saga; the characters and their relationships feel authentic and I think that's what prevents it from being soap-opera-ish.If anyone feels like trying it I'd recommend starting with the first book in the series.
Have three on the go at the moment:
The Shining Girls
The Blind Assassin &
Death Comes for the Archbishop

I gave up Trieste by Daša Drndić, since I couldn't get into her style.I'm reading now Frog Music by Emma Donoghue
I'm going to start reading The Gallery of Vanished Husbands today. Surprisingly it's not by Katie Price but Natasha Solomons.
Reading Nemesis by Agatha Christie and A Street Cat Named Bob: How One Man and His Cat Found Hope on the Streets
Charging through Gironimo!: Riding the Very Terrible 1914 Tour of Italy at the moment. Really funny, and has parts that had made me chuckle today. Tim Moore is a great travel author, and this is in the same vein as his hilarious French Revolutions
Jackie. I enjoyed that though I can confess that the deeper stuff around all the Proust was quite intense and I skimmed some sections. Don't think it spoilt it overall. I think I gave it four stars.
Ooo-the shining girls has been on my list for a wee while-love to hear what you think of it! I finished wool a few days ago-was quite a slow paced book I thought but very interesting and will definitely be reading the others in the trilogy. Almost finished the Rosie project which I've really enjoyed.
4 stars - must be pretty good! I hope it doesn't get too deep and complicated, I'm a simple soul. I'll be skimming too if it does I read for pleasure not pain lol.Jennifer I really liked Wool. I've read the second one, Shift, in the trilogy but have yet to read the last one, Dust. Read Shining Girls too, can't remember how many stars I gave it, think it was alright though!

Precisely. Life is too short but overall the book is good.

I just finished the eleventh book of the older YA Darren Shan series, in love with it as always. I have the 12th and final book waiting for me to start and finish tomorrow. :(
I finished "Norwegian Wood" by Haruki Murakami. Not that bad, enjoyable, but also not extremely excellent.
Jackie wrote: "Going to start reading The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield today."
It is beautifully written Jackie, but I was not so sure on the plot.
Have read most of The Day of the Triffids today. Not bad at all so far.

Currently reading The S.C.U.M. Manifesto by Valerie Solanas, as well as Mansfield Park by Jane Austen. I like a good variety :)
Thanks Joy. I'm about halfway through and really enjoying it. I hope the second half is as good'Like to know what you think of that one Sandra, when you've finished.
Starting Night Film by Marisha Pessl. Been looking forward to this as have heard it's a good psychological thriller.
Reading The Martian at the moment. It is a thriller set on Mars. The main character has been left for dead, but it turns out he isn't and you are following his survival and way of trying to get off the planet.
I'm reading Mrs Robinson's Disgrace by Kate Summerscale in bed and The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood on my Kindle. I'm enjoying both so far.
I'm currently only reading Mansfield Park by Jane Austen. I'm actually enjoying it more now! It was good to break it up a bit by reading The S.C.U.M. Manifesto, even though that's a heavyish read too, at least its only short!
Restarting Ecko Rising. Had begun it earlier in the years and got a tad overwhelmed by the amount I had to read. Started as SF and has dropped into fantasy. Surreal.
Currently reading the multi award winning book Ancillary Justice. It is Ok so far. Not completely sure why it won the Hugo and the Clarks awards though
I'm reading Game of Thrones just now. I'm really enjoying it, but it's not as easy to get into as other books since I've seen the show and know a lot of the story already.
Just started A Spy Among Friends: Kim Philby and the Great Betrayal about the worst traitor Britain had. Fascinating so far.
Going to start reading The Dynamite Room by Jason Hewitt today. It sounds as if it should be good. The blurb on the back sold it to me anyway - well that & the fact it was only £2 in Tesco. Hopefully it won't disappoint.
Going to start The Telling Error by Sophie Hannah later today. She writes psychological thrillers which are my favourite in the thriller genre. Usually enjoy hers so looking forward to it.
Sandra wrote: "I started yesterday Lord of the Flies."
Haven't read that in years! A terrifying story.
Current on these three at the moment:
The Golem and the Jinni which is taking a while to get going
Building a History: Lego Group interesting, but a bit dry
Inconvenient People: Lunacy, Liberty and the Mad-Doctors in Victorian England THBV non fiction read. Fascinating stuff so far

I have only read Cloud Atlas by him. I am going to listen to The Bone Clocks next week as it is on the radio at the moment

I heard bone clocks was on the radio too!! Sounds really good. I just finished the fifth instalment of the emperors edge series an just started the ocean at the end of the lane......Classic Neil Gaimen an loving it so far :)
I've put my slightly more weighty reads to one side and am embarking on some fluff in the form of One Plus One whilst fending off a heavy cold and a fuzzy head. Even though I want something quick and easy to read, I am only 40 pages in and am PRAYING that this is not going to be as predictable as it looks like it might and that the next 500 pages are actually worth reading.... fingers crossed I am wrong!
Oh, and am on audiobook of The Various Haunts of Men as well, I was struggling with Wolf Hall on audio through the mists of the lurgy. Loving it so far, about a quarter of the way in.
