I've finished four picks:
Holiday Games (Play by Play, #6.5) by Jaci Burton Own the Wind (Chaos, #1) by Kristen Ashley The Ugly Duchess (Fairy Tales, #4) by Eloisa James The Seduction of Elliot McBride (Highland Pleasures, #5) by Jennifer Ashley
I enjoyed all of them, especially The Ugly Duchess. Thanks for the suggestion, I'm glad I've read it and thanks for the push to read the other three books:)

Christina (christinaovallsbooks) | 384 comments I finished one book this month, but I added a few others to my shelves. Nobody's Baby But Mine (Chicago Stars, #3) by Susan Elizabeth Phillips . It was good, but I don't think I liked the beginning very much. Still glad I read it though.

I just finished my first PIFM book this month, Season for Temptation and really liked it. Thanks for the great pick. I've had trouble getting books from the library quickly this month, so got it later and actually read the second book in the series first (and also liked that one). I'm starting on Colters' Woman (yowsa!) and am enjoying it so far. I have some other of your recommendations on order; thanks again for the great picks.

message 356: by Jaime (new)

Jaime Mccurley (jaimemccrl4) | 76 comments I finished my second and third PIFM books. I read A Christmas to Remember (Lucky Harbor, #8.5; Chaos, #2.5; Last Chance, #6.5; Everson, Texas, #0.5; Tallgrass, #1.5) by Jill Shalvis which was a great holiday read. I also read Strange Neighbors (Strange Neighbors, #1) by Ashlyn Chase which was cute but I got bored with the other story lines.. So I did skim some of the book.

UnusualChild{beppy} | 1282 comments hey, daffodil!
i'm glad that you liked Twelve Days. i read it last year and really enjoyed it. (tears rolling down my face pretty much the entire book, though.) i think i liked "edge of heaven" better than "twelve days", but that's just me. sorry that the other read wasn't as enjoyable.

UnusualChild{beppy} | 1282 comments hi, sandy

i just wanted to let you know that i have read several of the books that you chose for me this month.
i've read
Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake (Love By Numbers, #1) by Sarah MacLean - enjoyed it; i really liked that nobody in her family really looked down on callie for being "plain"
Firelight (Darkest London, #1) by Kristen Callihan - it was all right for me.
Menage by Emma Holly - this was all right for me as well...i didn't like the fact that neither kate or joe seemed to be in love with sean
Moon and Stars by Zahra Owens - i enjoyed this one
Muscling Through by J.L. Merrow - this one was really hard for me to get through...thank goodness it wasn't that long.

thank you very much for my picks, sandy. i plan to read at least 1 more, but maybe i'll end up reading 5 if i have time.
Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs (the one i will read for sure)
Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs (Jane Jameson, #1) by Molly Harper The Best Man (Blue Heron #1) by Kristan Higgins The Sweet Spot (Sweet on a Cowboy, #1) by Laura Drake Out of Bounds (Love of Sports, #1) by T.A. Chase - my possibles

Thanks, Fran. Phil was a good friend. I miss him. His memorial was last night and I was unable to attend, so he is on my mind of late, as is his life partner, Doug. Reading Christmas on Mimosa Lane made me think of both of them quite a bit.

MountainKat | 31777 comments Hi Brandilyn! I finished my second pick yesterday. I listened to Armed & Dangerous and loved it! Thanks for the push to get back to Ty and Zane! I hope to get to a couple more picks, but the next few days are crazy so I am not sure it is going to happen. Thanks for the picks this month, I added several to my wish list!

message 366: by Erin (new)

Erin (erin-b) Hi Alicia! I finally managed to get to my first pick. I finished Something in the Way He Needs (Family #1) by Cardeno C. last night and quite enjoyed it. Not sure if I'll have time to read another before the month is out, but there are still several I want to try. Thanks for the great picks.

Elizabeth (elizabeth_greece) | 1918 comments Elke,
i've finished another pick Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews . I 'd started listening to the audio a couple of years ago but never finished it. This time though I enjoyed it and definately I'm going to read the next to the series.
Thanks for the pick:)

Hi Fran! I've read Quinn's Hart and I thought it was adorable! That's for that rec.

I also read Already Freakn' Mated which I thought was classic Eve Langlais.

I'm hoping to maybe get to a couple of more books over the holiday.

Thanks for the great picks so far!!!

Kitten ~♥️ MM series ~ (wineandbookme) | 164 comments Hi Dee Dee,

Finished Exotic Indulgence (Bandicoot Cove, #1) by Vivian Arend . it was okay. Half the book was promos for other books the author is working on.

message 373: by ⚜️XAR (last edited Dec 25, 2013 05:20PM) (new)

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) Heya, April, I just finished Promise Me Heaven, which I substituted for No Place for a Dame after learning that it was the third book in a trilogy. I gave it 2 stars, as it was very difficult to read, but didn't completely suck.

I've also started Sugar Rush, but I don't think I'll be able to get to the rest of the picks that you gave me this month. I usually try to read everything picked for me, but with having to finish up holiday crafting/preparations, I don't think I'll be able to make it.

So, here's where I stand on your list:
Planning on Reading Books: Finished 8/8
1. Christmas on Mimosa Lane by Anna DeStefano-12/19/13
2. Christmas at Pebble Creek by Vanetta Chapman-12/3/13
3. Home to Pebble Creek by Vanetta Chapman-12/14/13
4. ClaimedClaimed by Evangeline Anderson-12/6/13
5. No Place for a Dame by Connie Brockway, substituting Promise Me Heaven-12/24/13
6. The Perfect Play by Jaci Burton-12/11/13
7. The Naughty List by Jodi Redford-12/5/13
8. One Night with a Cowboy by Cat Johnson-12/18/13

Will attempt to get to in December: Will finish 2/7
1. One for the Money by Janet Evanovich-12/6/13
2. Cinderella Unmasked by Bonnie Dee (unable to get to, relisted)
3. Strange Neighbors by Ashlyn Chase (unable to get to, relisted)
4. Sugar Rush by Rachel Astor-12/25/13
5. Tiger Eye by Marjorie M. Liu (unable to get to, relisted)
6. Always the Baker, Never the Bride by Sandra D. Brinker (unable to get to, relisted and using for a different challenge)
7. Ruby by Lauraine Snelling (unable to get to, relisted)

I just read 10 Ways To Steal Your Lover, and it was adorable!!!

message 376: by ⚜️XAR (new)

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) I did get to finish Sugar Rush, just now completed it, and had mixed feelings about it. Parts of the book were awesome, others had me wanting to scream in frustration with the characters. Its a 2.5 star read for me, but not bad enough to give a 2 star rating, so will round up to 3 stars.

Thanks so much for all the picks, April!

I just finished my second PIFM book this month, Colters' Woman Colters' Woman (Colters' Legacy, #1) by Maya Banks . It was a different read for me (I hadn't read a menage book before) but it was an interesting read. Thanks again for the great picks.

message 379: by ❆ Crystal ❆ (new)

❆ Crystal ❆ (crystal_wright) Gea,

Well, I had such a busy month and I didn't get all the books read that I wanted to this month. I didn't sign up for Jan PIFM because I still want to read the amazing picks you made for me in December... so I hope to get them read in January.

I did read The Christmas Knight by Michele Sinclair (I gave it 2 stars. I normally LOVE HR, but this one wasn't doing it for me... no biggie though)

I just finished Flat-Out Sexy (Fast Track, #1) by Erin McCarthy and gave it 3.5 stars. It was definitely hot.

I hope to read The Duke and I before January and if I do, I'll come back and let you know. I also plan to still read Just Like Heaven, Wait For You, Texas Destiny and Dragon Bound.

Thanks for the picks.

Hey, Crystal, if The Duke and I you mentioned is the book by Eloisa James, you could use it for January's FAC. She's the featured author for next month. It might give you more motivation to read it!

❆ Crystal ❆ (crystal_wright) Thanks Victoria.. but it is the Duke and I by Julia Quinn.

I'll check out Eloisa James as I've never read anything by her before. Thanks.

If I remember correctly, Julia Quinn and Eloisa James have characters that are interchanged in one of each author's books. I think it was mentioned on Eloisa James' website...might be something to check out!

MountainKat | 31777 comments Hi Brandilyn, I managed to squeeze in one last pick this evening! I read Try Me and really enjoyed it! Thanks for the push!

I decided to put off a couple of your picks - the ones in His For The Holidays since I rolled a Large Straight in the Yahtzee Challenge. So I will be getting to them, just a month late.

message 389: by Shelby (new)

Shelby (stang_lee) | 1971 comments Runell - Ok so with the insanity of trying to finish up the Scavenger Hunt I didn't get to have as much diversity in my reading as I would have liked. I only managed to get in one book this time around, but it was a brilliant one!

Dance With Me was absolutely wonderful! I really loved it! Thank you so much for your pick! I will keep attempting to get to the rest of them as well. :D
