⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) Well, after finishing One for the Money earlier tonight, I forced myself to slog through Claimed to finish it tonight as well. Thank you for picking it for me, April, because it got it out of my To Be Read Pile, where it has been languishing since July of 2012. However, I was so disgusted with it that I wanted to give it negative stars! I rated it a one star read, and was pretty harsh with it, but I just didn't care for the book at all. I have one other book by the author, so I'm not giving up on her just yet, but I know I won't continue the Brides of the Kindred series. Now, to try to finish Scandal Wears Satin before getting to another of my Meet and Greet reads that I know I enjoy!

Skandia (sfgirl) | 972 comments Finished my first pick On the Island (On the Island, #1) by Tracey Garvis-Graves . Loved it! Very sweet romance and the age difference didn't make it weird in any way at all. Clad I finally read this book after so many recommendations.

Ty | 1943 comments Finished my first PIFM this month: Tempting the Beast (Breeds, #1) by Lora Leigh . 3 stars. It was... interesting. I applaud the attempt at some sort of plot, ah hem, but I feel like that's just the icing on what really is just a smexytimes-fest. Thanks for the push, Amy! glad to have that off my tbr... haha.

Fran | 12285 comments Hi Sallie(shuga)!

I finished Convincing Quinn yesterday and I really liked it. It was short but well-written, sexy and emotional. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series. Thanks for the pick!

I want to get to a few more on your list this month but I'm not sure if I can. Going away with the kids next week and that will seriously curb my reading time. I will try though!

Joyce (eternity21) | 739 comments Hi Grace,
I finished Cinder today and really loved it. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not sure which I'm going to read next but I'm leaning towards Her Mad Hatter

Ali (haicila) | 7 comments Hey Larissa,

So far it's been a busy December but I finished Seduction and Snacks! I highly recommend it to you, or anyone who hasn't read it. It was hard for me to not laugh out loud or wear a huge grin the entire time.

And now begins the dilemma of which to read next.

Finished College Boys tonight. Sweet little GFY story. thanks :)

I will probably get to a few more, but I don't know for sure.

Finished my 3rd pick! Liked it a lot!! Thanks again for the great picks!!!

I finished Twelve Days by Teresa Hill early this morning and really enjoyed it. This story was special to me because I have a friend who became a foster mother. She truly believes in the program and providing a loving home for needy children. She went through many heartbreaks before receiving a little baby girl she eventually adopted.

Thank you for the suggestion. I've already requested Emma's book from the library.

I have finished 2 picks so far:

A Little Christmas Romance very cute Christmas story. Finished 12/3 I gave it ****

Blind Wolf I enjoyed this one even though I am not really into shifter books. I think I will continue this series. Finished 12/8 I gave it ***

I have just started my third pick. I will post when I finish it.

message 311: by ⚜️XAR (new)

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) Just finished The Perfect Play and loved it! Was a really great book to read, though I'm wishing I had read it at the start of Football season! Will continue with the series and would recommend it to others!

Jaime Mccurley (jaimemccrl4) | 76 comments Miss Butterfly, finished my first pick Rocky Mountain Freedom (Six Pack Ranch, #6) by Vivian Arend and I absolutely loved it.. Thanks for the pick.. I think I am going to start A Christmas to Remember (Chaos, #2.5; Lucky Harbor, #8.5; Last Chance, #5.5) by Jill Shalvis so I can get my KA and Jill Shalvis fix...

Gea (gea89) | 545 comments MountainKat, I finished Breathing Room by Susan Elizabeth Phillips and really liked it. It was nice reading a new SEP book after so many years and thanks for bringing it to my notice :)

I actually forgot Seduce Me at Sunrise (The Hathaways, #2) by Lisa Kleypas was also one of your picks - I finished it a few days ago and liked it as well

~KarenH~ | 11373 comments Ezinwanyi, I finished my first pick, Uncharted this evening. I liked it, but not as much as the first book. I've been trying to get to it for quite a while, so thanks for the push! I'm hoping to get to at least one more or your picks, but it's a busy month so I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to. Several of them are on my short list though, even if I can't fit them in this month. Thanks for the recommendations!

I am glad you liked it. I didn't like it as much either, but I enjoyed it. It was nice to see they were still together and happy with each other

message 321: by Grace (new)

Grace | 1732 comments Hi Jaime. I've read three picks so far and working on the fourth. I didn't like one, but the other two I have really liked.

Running with the Devil- I wasn't a big fan. I enjoy her westerns a lot more.

Dare to Believe-I thought it was a cute novella. It was nice to finally connect events from the second book to the first.

Motorcycle Man-I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book, but I really did. I love the humor in it. I hated Tack in some places, but his sweet moments ended up winning.

I'm reading Summer at Mustang Ridge right now and am loving it so far. I'm a hundred pages in and have already started crying at several scenes.

MountainKat | 31777 comments Hi Brandilyn! I finally got to read my first pick today. I read Holiday Games by Jaci Burton - it was a lot of fun! I loved getting to see all the couples together again! Thanks for the picks - I hope to get to at least one more if the holiday season allows me to!

I finished Wave the other day and enjoyed it. It was a very honest and frank look at the author's experience of a tsunami that hit where she and her family lived and how she coped in the aftermath knowing that all of her family apart from her were killed. It broke my heart in spots. I'd recommend it.

message 324: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 961 comments Finished another pick! Magic Bleeds is another great book in the Kate Daniels series. Loved it!

message 325: by Breann (last edited Dec 15, 2013 02:07PM) (new)

Breann | 398 comments Kitten, I finished two more books!

I read Thick as Thieves and meh. I was really bored through most of it, which was really disappointing to me since I was sure I was going to love it.

I also read Christmas Goes Analog and OMG! Nerd love at Christmas? It doesn't get much better than that! I loved it.

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Victoria, the best part about the PIFM challenge is when I find a book that wouldn't have caught my eye otherwise. I just finished Kissing Under the Mistletoe and thoroughly enjoyed it. The title and cover had me thinking it would be a "cookie cutter" read but it was far from it. I'll be sure to pass it on :-)
Thanks for the rec and the loan!
Kissing Under the Mistletoe (St. Helena Vineyard, #1) by Marina Adair

message 332: by Becca (new)

Becca (becca16) | 293 comments Yay! I've already finished 2 books this month! (Pretty sure that's a record for me in this challenge :)) Finished It Had to Be You last week and gave it 4*. I really liked it and I'm excited to keep reading the series! It was definitely not what I was expecting but it was great regardless! I also finished Pleasure Unbound the other day and also gave it 4*. It was another great read and now I have to find the rest of the books in the series! Thanks for the great picks so far!

I finished Legally Hot by Lora Leigh last night. I'm a fan of Leigh's books, but I had a really hard time getting into this one. It has been a while since I read Cooper's story, but I still felt like I was missing the big picture in this one. Since it's part of a bigger arc, I didn't expect to learn a lot about the baddie pulling the strings. But nothing was explained about the motivations of the secondary bad guy. I did enjoy McCray's short story, enough that I'm more inclined to pick up the next book in the Night Tracker series.

I also want to let you know that the signups will be closing early this month due to the holidays, on December 22nd. You will have longer to make your picks though. We are making these changes to accommodate everyone's busy schedule this time of year. I hope to see you there!

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) I just finished Christmas on Mimosa Lane. Was a very emotional book, dealing with holidays and grief. Cried a lot during this one, and was very moved. Gave it 5 stars, but need a much lighter read now!
