Crud, I can't believe I didn't see this comment :P sorry

I like to write pretty much anything from paranormal, to dystopic, and fantasy. YA genre mainly, and my writing is usually a blend of the above three I already mentioned.
And I guess I shall post something in a few...where is the place for that?

message 263: by Kat (new)

Kat Desi (katdesiwrites) | 61 comments I'm Kat! I write funny romance... I tried my hand at drama, but anything I come up with turns out funny. So... hi!

message 264: by Riley (new)

Riley Bryant (scarivace) | 84 comments Hello new people. I can't remember when last I said hi, so I just have to be all inclusive.

Ok, so I think I know, but what is 'dystopic'?

And nothing wrong with funny Kat. "I love to laugh, Loud and long and clear" (2 points if you can tell me where I'm quoting from)

message 265: by Kat (new)

Kat Desi (katdesiwrites) | 61 comments Scarivace, where else but Mary Poppins? x

message 266: by Marissa (new)

Marissa Honeycutt (marissahoneycutt) | 64 comments Welcome Kat.

I'm the opposite. I want to write happy novels and end up dramatic and dark and depressing. (and the funny thing is, I hate drama)

message 267: by Marissa (new)

Marissa Honeycutt (marissahoneycutt) | 64 comments Thanks Scarivace...now I have that song in my head.

message 268: by sᴏᴘʜ|☂ (new)

sᴏᴘʜ|☂ (nowoffish) MARY POPPINS!!!
oh. I was too late. To prove my authenticity it was that scene where they all started floating up to the ceiling. I think.
Dystopia is the opposite of utopia. Generally it is set in an unideal future.
dys·to·pi·a
[dis-toh-pee-uh] Show IPA
noun
a society characterized by human misery, as squalor, oppression, disease, and overcrowding.
Compare utopia.

Origin:
1865–70; dys- + (u)topia

Related forms
dys·to·pi·an, adjective
dys·to·pi·an·ism, noun

HAHA! i was right.

message 269: by Riley (new)

Riley Bryant (scarivace) | 84 comments Yeah, thought it was something like that. I always think of those type as "post apocalyptic" but I see how it could encompass more than just that type of future.

Correct, Mary Poppins it is, and you are correct it was where they floated up to the cieling (because of the laughing).

Its....... supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

message 274: by ♠ TABI⁷ ♠ (new)

♠ TABI⁷ ♠ (tabi_card) I don't know if anyone else is have this problem, but I've been told to spread the word so people know what's going on.

Attention Good Reads Users:

Good reads is currently have a problem with inserting comments. If you have that same issue switch to the mobile version located at the bottom of the page. If not, disregard this message.

The mobile version works, it looks a little funky (for those of us with desktop versions) but you can comment in it ;)

Riley Bryant (scarivace) | 84 comments I was having that problem, but I came back and it was resolved.

Spell what Sophia? Apocalyptic or supercalifragilisticexpialidocious?

Of course, you can say it backwards wich is dociousaliexpiisticfragicalirupes, but that's going a bit too far, don't you think :D.

message 276: by ♠ TABI⁷ ♠ (new)

♠ TABI⁷ ♠ (tabi_card) Yeah it seems to have been worked out, which I'm happy for.

I'm Melek, 17, writing mostly paranormal or dark stories, never tried combining them yet :D I have one ongoing paranormal story that 43k words long and a few fanfictions. I guess I was 14 when I first tried writing a fanfiction about Prison break and I didn't know it was that widespread back then. Now I keep reading and writing. Guess that's enough for now :D
