Hi everyone,My name's Melissa. I've been staring at this page for five minutes trying to get up the courage to say hi...and writing and rewriting this post for another ten minutes. *blush*
I've written a couple of stories, which tend to be rather dark (but with a HEA). I recently finished my 'masterpiece' which I have a hard time sticking into a genre. I'd say a paranormal, political conspiracy, erotic romance? (sans vampires). The erotic part is not just erotica for erotica's sake, but has a key place in the story.
I guess I'm rambling...sorry. I want to share my story, not really for the faint-of-heart.

You can share your story, of course, but you have to put a warning before any mature-themed scenes. I look forward to reading your story :)
There are a lot of great activities you can join in this group - we're in the middle of a writing contest, have a group story going and another one coming up soon.

I have a feeling my stories aren't your 'cup of tea' but I have a lot of Germans in my story. Could I use you as a resource just for the German stuff? You don't have to read the story (if you don't want to) but having an actual German to ask questions of would be awesome!

LOL. Me too. My characters certainly take a beating sometimes. I've tried, but I just can't write 'happy' stories. They end up ok, but...well, I guess I'm just twisted. :)
True dat. I got scolded by my editor everytime I send her a draft.

Yep, that's why I wrote crime novels. Because killing real person is illegal.

It all turns out alright. That's the main thing, right?
I won't say 'drama' since that's probably out of my writing genre, together with romance, I prefer 'shocking element'. I mean, sure killing characters is fun, but you gotta be specific about it, not just randomly killing people so you can create more tragic melodrama.
By drama, I meant probably more in the line of plot device. Something has to happen that is interesting, or else there is no story. :)
That's why I wrote crime so I only have to think about one major problem. Mwahahahaha it's unexpectedly really easy.
