Not bad. I was pleasantly surprised. I thought this could have been more sex than plot, but it wasn't. I always get anoyed with book that have overly dominant men. This is not exception, 'cause see they *know* what is best. I liked Holly and how she eventually embraced her strength.

New 2 You Series Personal Shelf

Primal Law (Alpha Pack #1) by J.D. Tyler by J.D. Tyler

Date Read:13/11/13
Rating:5 stars

Review:
I Loved this Book! and seriously what is not to love about a book filled with hot alpha males! Although the story line wasn't overly original form what is already out there for shifter books, the characters and the creatures written about totally make up for the lack of originality.

Jax and Kira's story was explosive and I'm not just talking about what took place in the bedroom(fan's one self) there was always plenty of action taking place and I loved the banter between the main charaters and the other team members and characters in the book.

This was a great way to start the series and it left just enough room at the end to keep me on the edge of my seat as to what is going to happen in later installments, Over all a really fun and fast read.

Shelf #3 ~ 10/11/13: *Romance Genre

An excellent job by the narrator, the talented Emily Gray, as usual. I enjoyed the audiobook immensely!

The atmosphere of this last book in the series is as refreshing as in the previous ones and so is the story itself. Alexia and Conall are great together and I had fun reading this last part of their story together. This time their new adventure takes them to Egypt where they uncover secrets, solve mysteries and cause an uproar, as it usually happens wherever they go.

I will definitely read, or most likely listen to, more of the author's books, starting with the spin-off prequel series Finishing School and its first book Etiquette & Espionage, and the sequel series The Parasol Protectorate Abroad, starring the adorable Prudence, that comes out sometime in 2015.

Romance Shelf(Paranormal)

The Dark One (Wild Wulfs of London, #1) by Ronda Thompson by Ronda Thompson

Finished:16/11/13
Rating: 5 stars

Review:
The Dark One by Ronda Thompson is the first book in her Wild Wulfs of London series and is totally engrossing from page 1 to page 341, and is a wonderfull addition to the paranormal genre, especially if your looking for some hot werewolf action.

First we met Armond one of the so called wild wulfs, a titled englishman with a family curse that has him howling at the moon when he finds his one true love and then there is Rosalind the country flower who is thrust into the spotlight of the Ton for her first season in london with the sole purpose of finding a husband and getting a high bride price so her step brother can pay off his debts. Yet when these two unlikely people met sparks start flying and bodies start hitting the ground. Will Armond and Rosalind live Happily Ever After or will she met a untimely end!

Ronda Thompson has this uncanny way of pulling you in with her writing and keeping a good grip right up until the end. Her characters are likeable and well rounded with complex issues that anyone will relate to. The mystery element to this novel was great and made the story that much more interesting along with all the historical facts and passion between the main characters. OverallThis was a very satisfactory read and I will be continuing on with with series until it end!

Book: Ender's Game
Finished 11/17/13
Rating: 5 stars
Review:

I see why everyone loves this series. I couldn't put the book down once I started reading. Ender is the third child in his family. Usually a family is limited to just 2 children but Ender's family was allowed to have a third because the leaders know that he will be the one to save Earth.

Ender's game follows Ender through his life as a child being trained as a commander. The trials, and tasks that he is put through at the young age of 6 is just reprehensible. He has an older brother and sister, Peter and Valentine.

I loved the whole story and will be looking for the next book.

While I find some parts of this series great, there are things within the books of this series that I just can't get over being annoyed by.

One of which is the ridiculous romance. And why oh why does the main character who is 17 years old, who barely knows the boy, keep obsessing over whether or not his pack would ever let her marry him? Also, how dependent the main character seems to be on boys. She has two guys totally pining for her. One is a jerk, one is a total sweetheart. Yet, she can't seem to function without a boy around half the time. I hope over time our main character can learn to stand on her own two feet without a boy holding her up.

Essentially Shadow Falls Camp seems to be full of insanely horny teenagers. Then the two adults that are apparently the only people there to be in charge of all the horny teenagers are also super horny for each other. Then the adults discuss their want of each other with the teenagers.

So really what I got from something that could have been a fairly awesome story was a bunch about horny kids and some side story.

At least Kylie wasn't AS whiny and AS horny as she was in the last book.

I'm sorry, this is a young adult book. If it wanted to read about someones epic hornyness, I would have picked a book from the adult romance/erotica section to read.

Shelf #4 ~ 10/11/13: *New2You Series

A very interesting concept and a dark and gritty world with an unusual heroine.

Some parts of it were better than others, but, unfortunately, there were a lot of inconsistencies that detracted from the story. There were some confusing and vague transitions in the timeline and sometimes the characters felt less than well-defined, especially Poe. Some of those problems wouldn't have been there, had the story been better edited.

Although it was enjoyable and bloody enough, I'm not sure if I'll continue with the series. Either way, the next book is Dead Surround.

I liked this one more than book 1. I liked Larena and Fallon together (and I liked them individually as well). The one thing that knocked this down for me (1/2 star) was Fallon's feelings of betrayal after finding out Lorena's secret. So what? He would have done the SAME thing!
This series stands out in that while each book is about a couple, there is an underlying backstory that threads through each book. So. the big question becomes, how may books will it take to defect Deirdre? (I'd compare it to Gena Showalter's LOTU, so best read in order for that backstory!).

Wow!! I borrowed the audio version from my library on Overdrive and I loved this book!! I am glad that I listened to this book. I enjoyed hearing the music for the songs that were written in the book. I really loved that part of the book.

This book also has an interview with the authors. I love being able to hear the authors talk about how they decide to choose an idea.

It is not very often that you have a story written from a boys point of view. Ethan is delightful to listen to. He is from a small town down south that doesn't like people who are different. Lena is one that everyone is does not like.

I am going to look about watching this movie.

A very interesting introduction to an intricate new world full of magic.

Alex is a feisty heroine who I would have liked a lot more if she didn't have one of the flaws that annoy me most - avoiding and running from her problems or pretending they don't exist altogether. She leads a difficult, stressful life, but during this story things seem to take a turn for the worse. Even so, she does her best to deal with the situation and I really enjoyed listening to her adventures.

I liked the interactions between Alex and detective Falin from the beginning, (view spoiler) but once again I find myself wondering about, and maybe even rooting for, the "other guy" (view spoiler).

I'm looking forward to reading more about Alex in future books in the series, starting with Grave Dance next.

Kimberly Frost's first book is a utter delight. With spicy humor, and a ton of supernatural creatures to satisfy all your cravings. This book was a nice light read that your could sink your teeth in to and end up wanting more. It's all about a young woman who descends from a long line of witches but has no real powers of her own but when she robbed of a priceless family heirloom she will do just about anything to get it back and that includes going to the one man she is forbidden to see. With the help of her family's enemy, her ex on again off again husband and a spunky wild cat Tammy-Jo Trask is on her way to being a Would-Be Witch!

Well. This book was interesting. The beginning was a bit slow, but eventually I found myself wanting to know what was going to happen and caring about the characters. Then the ending part of the book happened. It felt a bit awkward. A bit thrown out there. I kind of saw some of it in a way, but the rest of it just seemed like the author was like "oh hey I forgot to explain this, I might want to do that." There were also some points near the end I had to reread to make sure I understood them correctly. It just didn't really flow right.

Review:
I found The Inn at Rose Harbor interesting. Jo Marie is a widow and with her husbands inheritance from the military she decides to purchase a Bed & Breakfast. The B&B is in Cedar Cove. The people in Cedar Cove welcome her with open arms.

Jo Marie's first customers are a woman name Abby and a man named Josh. They are both visiting for different reasons and have heavy hearts when they arrive. The story follows Jo Marie, Abby and Josh as they all start to heal from their different tragedies.

I found the story slow at first until you start meeting the people in Cedar Cove and Abby and Josh. I enjoyed the story but I don't feel that it is romance compared to some that I have read. I may continue with this series.

Rating: 4.5 stars

Review:
False Memory by Dan Krokos is the first book in his new teen sci-fi action adventure series about 4 teens grown by the government to be weapons. I really enjoyed this book, it had non stop action form beginning to end and so many twists and turns you had no idea who was who or who to believe. The story ends at a natural stopping point, so for anyone wanting to read this there is no cliff hanger ending to worry about. On top of all the sci-fi stuff that is going on the characters are very well developed and complicated as each one is trying to figure out their part in the story. The next book comes out in August of this year and I can't wait to read it, I think this series will only get better as each additional book comes out and I'll be eager for each one!

This picks up where Green-Eyed Demon left off. Sabina and Adam have difficulty in their relationship. I've continued to really enjoy this series and I really like not just Sabina, but the whole ensemble. In this book, there are twists and turns and the body count is high (with some sad deaths, but not necessarily unexpected).

And of course only Giguhl could come up with "Hell on Wheels Roller Derby."

Shelf #6 ~ 17/11/13: *Rewind

It's been quite a while since I read the first book of the series and I'd forgotten how interesting and complex Charlie's world is: creatures from three different worlds with their own factions, characteristics and agendas, all living in one city that's immersed in constant darkness since the events of the previous book.

Charlie is in over her head, trying to cope with the changes in her life and deal with her latest case at the same time, but she is tough and determined and always does her best. I really enjoyed revisiting her world and I'm curious to see how things proceed from here on.

I think it would be best to read the next book soon, since this second book is just a continuation of the story that started in the previous one with few repetitions and reminders of what happened so far and it's pretty safe to assume that it will be the same for the rest of the series as well.

Looking forward to The Hour of Dust and Ashes next.

An enjoyable story featuring a couple with interesting paranormal abilities, a secretive organization and a mystery concerning a secret formula. It contains some original ideas, like the main heroine's occupation as a photographer, which is innovative for that time, and the various psychic powers.

While I enjoyed Venetia and Gabriel's story, most of the characters and the mystery, my feelings about it are very mild. I'm not sure if I'll continue with the series, which contains both historical and contemporary books, with White Lies being the next one and the first contemporary.

Review:
I have had this book sitting on my TBR stack for awhile now. I finally decided to read this book for a challenge. I am glad I read the book.

Minding Ben is a story about a young girl named Grace from Trinidad. She decides to go to America to help her cousin raise her child. When she finally goes to New York her cousin never picks her up at the airport.

Grace meets many different people in New York and finally becomes a nanny to a little boy named Ben. The parents are Sol and Miriam. I really didn't care for Miriam or Sol. Miriam because I just felt that she was very mean to Grace. Plus I felt that Miriam had a chip on her shoulder. Sol I would get annoyed with because he was nice to Grace but then would be different when his wife was around.

I enjoyed reading the book even though some of the book was written in a broken dialect. That gave the story more truth to it. Giving you the feeling of actually listening to ladies from the Islands talking.
Not sure if the author Victoria Brown will be continuing Grace's story but it would be interesting to see where she goes.
