The price you pay for books is more than money.

Amazing!
Amazing!

Who knew reading is a form of keep fit?! Great buy but kindle books are much lighter 😄

Scott, you just need some new furniture ;-)

Last as in latest or last as in he's not writing any more? I'm just reading The Hanging Tree so am a bit behind, but really enjoy the series :-)

I found The Lie Tree in a charity shop for £1 and a couple of local archaeology 'magazines' from a couple of years ago (actually bound and about 200+ pages) for £2 each
Great haul Audrey :)
I recently bought a few, non-fiction as well as SF/Fantasy:
Pandemic 1918
Chernobyl
How to be a Tudor
Vox
Beren and Luthien

I read a book on Chernobyl last year and it was fascinating.
Birthday book haul:
The Left Hand of Darkness
The Rithmatist
Just One Damned Thing After Another
Dragon Bones
Dragon Blood
The sci-fi/fantasy ones anyway. ;)

was my last book purchase, though I'm not enjoying it as much as

It feels like a clone of the original novel.
Last night Erin Hunter (one of them) came to a local bookstore, so I got my daughter Into the Wild and Broken Pride. Since I was there, I ended up buying for myself Spinning Silver, Promise of Blood, and a pretty edition of The Princess Bride.
Picked up Mythos by Stephen Fry, Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman, and Life on Earth by David Attenborough at the supermarket today - no more book buying buy me this month as I also had a wee Amazon order a week or so ago..!

Artificial Condition (loved the first one)
Ball Lightning Sneak Peek
Sorcery & Cecelia: or The Enchanted Chocolate Pot

I can't really claim on how many books I bought since I've pre-ordered a few throughout the year :P. The most recent one that came was Middlegame. It's pretty good so far!
I picked up a few (history) books this weekend and got them all signed by the authors :)
Jambusters - Julie Summers
Brave Faces - Mary Arden
Histories of the Unexpected - Sam Willis & James Daybell

2 second hand, 2 new - total of £6. A good morning's rummaging :)

How are you getting on with A Brief History of Time? I'd like to read it (and indeed have a copy on my Kindle) but am also a little bit intimidated by it...

I have only read the foreword and first chapter but so far it feels easy to read but hasn't got to the "sciencey stuff" yet...I don't think.
I have put it aside a little till I finish Heroes or Ready Player One as I don't like to be the headspace of more than two books at a time. I can update once I get into it more if you want?

I have just finished chapter 4 and it is very readable but does bring many concepts and theories in quickly: relativity, quantum mechanics, theories of everything, gravity and more.
It explains mostly everything but it demands your whole attention to wrap your head around everything.
Good so far, have a go with it, it is super interesting.
I just splurged on an autographed hardback copy of The Sword of Summer. It’s in pristine condition, so I think I’ll put it on the shelf and never touch it again.
I THINK I read A Brief History of Time (I know I saw the documentary), and if I remember correctly, it was quite accessible; not all technical stuff.
