Hi I'm Nathan! I actually was part of this group for a while back in 2012 but a bunch of circumstances caused me to stop checking Goodreads and stop reading as much as I had been for a loooooonnnnggggg time. Too long. But I'm back now and have a fresh start and am ready to go full speed ahead in 2014! I read Science Fiction, Mystery (Agatha Christie is my fave), and occasionally I'll read some YA. :) Can't wait to get back into the swing of things and start reading with ya'll. :D
Welcome, Rachel and Nathan!Rachel: that's great that you make time for yourself to read with a little girl.
Nathan: It's great to have you back! We're going to start our 2014 planning soon, so you're just in time.
Hi Nathan,Welcome back. I have been dying to read an Agatha Christie book for a while now. I am thinking 2014 is going to be it for me. I have just started getting into some Science Fiction books too. Maybe we can do a buddy read some time.
Hello Rachel and Nathan. You are now in a great group with people who are respectable and fun. Look forward to sharing with you.
thanks everyone reading is important for me and my daughter loves to read too following in mummys footsteps :) I'd love to pair up with someone wanting to read the same book I noticed it in a message I received. how do I find someone. I'm new to goodreads xx
Rachel wrote: "thanks everyone reading is important for me and my daughter loves to read too following in mummys footsteps :) I'd love to pair up with someone wanting to read the same book I noticed it in a messa..."Each month people can also sign up in the TBR twin where you answer questions about your interests and Kara matches you with a twin buddy and you read and discuss a book together.
Hi I'm Jacqueline! I was part of goodreads for a long time but a had to stop because of time management issues but I can't wait to start again! Love YA and mystery and I am currently reading
How can I post my personal reading challenge?
Jacqueline, I had the same problem at the end of last year. As long as you find your way back to us and you're alright, we're happy :). As for your question, if you go here, you can follow the instructions in the top post.
Hi
I'm Gary Morris (Gary A.M.Morris to avoid confusion with the other author Gary Morris). I am the author of two recently released books on Kindle: 'The Journals of The Guardian' Book1 'Dawn of a Hero' . and 'Miao Shan' 'The Awakening'.
Both books are the first of a series. Both are YA, paranormal fantasy, and the Guardian is also sci fi.
I am currently trying to organise a massive give way of both books, via Amazon. So if you would like a free Kindle copy, please contact me so I can organise a way of letting you know when to download the books .

Hi, I am Deepthy from mumbai. I love to travel and recently visited Italy and fell in love with Venice. I love to read fantasy and literary books and on rainy evenings, curl up with a Jane Austen. This seems fun :) Cheers.
Welcome to the group Deepthy. There are lots of fun ways to discuss books with people from this group. There are buddy reads, the monthly group read and so many fun challenges.
Welcome to the group, Deepthy and Mariana. So nice to share thoughts with people from around the world.
Hello everyone, I'm Stephan from the Netherlands. My favorite genres are mostly realistic fiction, sic-fi and horror. But I tend to read any book that seems interesting to me, regardless of genre. Im looking forward to participate in some challenges to keep my reading pace up. :)
Hi Stephan,Welcome to the group. If you have any questions, just ask. There are so many people here to help you out. Check out the challenges and feel free to join any buddy read. This is a fun group.
Welcome, Stephan. Joining this group has revived my interest in reading/listening to books of every genre, old and new. I am now sharing books and discussions with other members of my family besides the great group of people in this group. Looking forward to sharing with you.
Hi, I'm Antoinella. I've been a member for a little while now and thought it was time to introduce myself properly..I love books but lately I'm reading less than I normally do. I'm realy excited to join this group and hope it will inspire me to read more! I love the classics and historic-ficion but I also read from different genres.
Hi, I'm Claire. I've been on GR for just over a year now and I'm managing to challenge myself to read more and more varied books since I joined. I've just started a job where I work shifts which is giving me a bit more time to indulge in reading as much as I can! I also received a Kindle a few birthdays ago which has given me hundreds of books to read my way through. :)
Hi, I my name is Kathy. I live in Wisconsin and I love to read. I read a variety of books genres and have a vast collection of books.
Hi Kathy! Take a look around the group. There are all sorts of fun challenges and buddy reads going on. Feel free to join in any of them. There are lots of people around to ask questions to if you have any.
I loved the Steig Larson books and just finished one shot by lee child but love to read classics, history, memoirs and autobiographys too.

Welcome, all newcomers from the past few weeks!
I'm Teresa, 40-something bookworm who lives in Texas. I'm married and have a 12-year-old son, plus 3 black cats. My favorites to read are mystery/thrillers and contemporary young adult, though I enjoy reading most anything else, in general. I've been in this group since the end of 2012, though I'm not always very vocal. Hoping to participate more often!
Hi to all! My name is Kandi and I've been using Goodreads for a while now but have yet to join a reading Group. Recently, I've finished a few books that members here have read also so joining this Group seemed like a good fit. I love contemporary fiction, chick-lit, historical fiction and more - just not enough time in the day to get to everything I'd love to read! Looking forward to getting to know other members here.
Hi! I'm Robyn…new to the group. Mostly interested in historical fiction, but I have quite a few others on my TBR list.
Welcome to all the new members. I am looking forward to discussing books with you. Have fun with buddy reads and challenges.
Hey! I am Kris. I just joined the group. I love to read almost everything (not a big romance lover). I am always l looking of new things to read.
Welcome Kris. Ask away if you have any questions. You will find lots of friendly helpful people in this group and always lots of good discussions going on.
I am Julie and just love Lee Child books at the moment just can't get enough of them. Any suggestions what else I could go through
Hi I am Ashlee, I am about to turn 23 have always loved reading and wouldn't mind setting a challenge to read a certain number of books next year :)So thought this would be a good place to start
Hi Julie and Ashlee, have a lot of fun with this group! :) Ashlee, good planning, if you're already looking forward to what you're reading next year :). (I should have planned a bit more this year as well.)
Hi All my name is Dawn and I'm new to this group. I like to read many different types of books but I tend to latch on to one type or author until I read all of their books or burn myself out and switch to a new genre. Right now I'm on a YA kick. I am currently reading The Book Thief. Last books include the Divergence Trilogy, The Fault inOur Stars, and City of Bones. I like to read books before they are movies but won't read a book that I saw the movie first. For reasons I can't explain I hate when they change the cover of a book to the movie cover. Finally, if I have nothing I'm really interested in reading at the time, my fall back is cowboy or paranormal romances. I have horrible grammar and spelling. I love reading other peoples reviews, I wish I could put my feelings about a book in words as poetically as many others can. I'm excited about joining this group and my first task will be setting a goal for 2014.
Dawn, I do what you do, I get hooked on genres or authors. It's good to know I'm not alone in this :). The bad (or good) thing is that strong obsessions tend to come back to me, so I'm slowly finding that I have more things that I would need to read than I possibly could :). Happy reading, and have fun here :).
SilverRaindrops you are definitely not alone...My teenage daughter also has this tendency, she will get so down when reading the last book of an author or series, she will take twice as long to finish it. This makes me crazy when I am wanting to talk about the book with her!!!
I have been doing this too I love the Steig Larson books and got so depressed when I finish a series. I am now reading the jack reacher books by Lee child and just love these books
Dawn wrote: "SilverRaindrops you are definitely not alone...My teenage daughter also has this tendency, she will get so down when reading the last book of an author or series, she will take twice as long to fi..."Oh, she starts it? That's progress as far as I am concerned ;). I have been known to whine about a book being the last one for a solid four months before making myself read it.
