Title: Magic Strikes by Ilona Andrews
Rating: ★★★★★
Read: 10/11/15
Review:
Ok - I take back everything remotely negative that I may have said about this series. I am so glad that I continued on with the series after reading that the story takes off after this book....and it definitely seems like it will. (A huge thank you to my teammates for telling me to stick with it).
Magic Strikes has lots of fighting, blood and gore. But the connection developing between Kate and Curran...HOT!!! You cannot help but fall in love with the characters in the story (Derek, Julie, etc.)
I cannot wait to find out what's in store for them in the next book.

I'm trying to finish up with

I'm trying :) It's not a bad book, really. It's just not easy trying to sit and read an actual book when my 12 yr old keeps talking and with all the company coming over for birthday wishes, they're taking up my time I need for reading. Don't people know that I have reading to do. LOL.

Also excited for the Reader's Choice as I just stopped at the library and picked up

Title: Naked in Death by J.D. Robb
Rating: ★★★★★
Read: 10/14/15
Review:
Excellent! I hate that I waited so long to start the series. Great world building and character development.
Eve is a very likable character - strong, determined and smart. Roarke, oh God what can I say...charming, seductive and mysterious. I love their chemistry.
Surprisingly I enjoyed the futuristic quality of the world they live in. It was detailed and believable.
I have read several of Nora Roberts' romance novels in the past that I really liked. To be able to have the same quality of writing across different genres shows what a talented author she is. I am very much looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I have the front page updated to this point; so if everyone could take a quick look HERE and see if it agrees with what you know you are doing. I thought I had posted my review for What a Wicked Earl Wants but didn't see it and discovered my the new2you shelf requirement of it being a first book (I picked a second book in a series). So off to sort that out.
I have about an hour left in my itcy witch selection so I'm going to go finish that one.

For Reader's Choice I'm going to continue my imaginary love affair with Roarke and read

Title: Proven Guilty by Jim Butcher
Rating: ★★★★★
Read: 10/14/15
Review:
This was my favorite of the current of all the books in this series. There was so much that went on in this book. Harry had so many things going on for him. I couldn't believe the way this went and the people that you thought were a certain way weren't. There were a few surprises that's for sure. This series is getting better and better as is goes. I'm going to have to control myself from reading ahead. It's going to be hard by I have to try.

Title: Murder of Crows by Anne Bishop
Rating: ★★★★
Read: 10/16
# pages: 369 pages
Review: I’m really liking this series. I have heard mixed things about it but I’m enjoying the development of the terra indigene and human relationships in the Lakeside courtyard. In this novel, the trouble between the humans and terra indigene is escalating and Meg’s visions are become more disturbing. The Lakeside terra indigene become involved due to Meg and we get a quick peak at how they differ from other terra indigene when the Midwest group is introduced. Is it due to their interactions with the humans in Lakeside or Meg herself? Also, Simone and Meg’s relationship has a few bumps; but overall I like the slow development of their feelings towards each other. I’m happy with them being friends but wonder if a terra indigene/human relationship is even a possibility with the cultures involved.

Title: What a Wicked Earl Wants by Vicky Dreiling
Rating: ★★★
Read: 11/4/15
# pages: 408 pages
Review: I was a big fan of Vicky Dreiling’s debut historical romance, but this one was just OK for me. The whole premise of Laura and Andrew’s relationship felt forced and a bit unbelievable; as was Andrew’s willingness to play along with the deception (even for a shot at sleeping with Laura). There was just a lot of stuff going on with this one and the potential story that could have evolved just never did. Overall, the story just did not work for me, although I do still love the cover.

Way to go Ladies!!

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
Finished: 10/16/15
Rating: ♥♥♥♥
Thoroughly enjoyed this although I would say that I wasn't completely engaged until 100 or so pages in. This is a creative and well written story that is engrossing. The world the author has created is compelling and the characters are appealing and fairly complex. The adventure and journey aspect of the story are also well done. And the romance is maybe the best part. The dystopian sci-fi aspects are probably the least believable part to me...somehow, I felt the science didn't seem plausible and as if the writer could have maybe done more research or something. Still, what does work far outweighs this. Very enjoyable!

I'll be reading

Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews
Date: 10/18
Rated: 3.75 stars
Review:
I was having a tough time trying to get passed the first few chapters until things started to get interesting as she started digging into Greg's murder and also when Curran came into the picture. He's a strong character but with a protective side. I can't wait to see how these two characters develop though the series. I'm hoping to get the chance to get to the next book soon so I don't lose interest in the series.

Title: Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews
Rating: ★★★★★
Read: 10/20/15
Review:
I am so glad I struggled through the first two books - it is so worth it. Magic Bleeds is the best one yet.
After a very entertaining "mating dance”, Kate has finally accepted her status of "mate" to Curran. We continue to learn about Kate's family as well as how Curran became the Beast Lord. This book has it all - lots of action and some tender moments between Kate and Curran. As Curran's mate, Kate is now also Alpha of the Pack and some of the members do not like it. It is definitely causing some friction between important characters. I'm glad I have the next book already. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Requested our Meow stamp.
I just finished up

Good Job!! :D

...I dialed the guardroom. Barabas picked up the phone, his slightly ironic tenor amused before I even had a chance to say anything. "Yes, Consort?"
"Why is everyone calling me Consort?"
"Jim designated you as Consort in official papers. You don't want to be called Mate, calling you Alpha is confusing, and 'Beast Lady' makes people laugh."
"Why is it necessary to attach a title to me at all?"
"Because you are attached to the Beast Lord."
Behind me Curran chuckled to himself. Apparently I amused everyone this evening."....
Kate Daniels, the Beast Lady....too funny!
