* need to tell us why you are suggesting this book

M.L. | 309 comments Nominate And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. A classic and one of the most well-known mysteries written.

message 3: by Pip (new)

Pip I'd like to nominate The Daughter of Time by Josephine Tey.
It is a 1951 detective novel concerning a modern police officer's investigation into the alleged crimes of King Richard III of England. It was the last book Tey published in her lifetime, shortly before her death.
I'm nominating it because:

- it was voted number one in The Top 100 Crime Novels of All Time list by the UK Crime Writers' Association in 1990.
- In 2012, Peter Hitchens wrote that The Daughter of Time was "one of the most important books ever written".
- I've had it on my "to read" shelf for ages and it would be great to read along with others :-)

Karen Roman How about A Study in Scarlet? It's the first book in the Sherlock Holmes series.

We have three books now, need at least 4 more choices. Come on people

message 6: by Franky (new)

Franky I'd like to nominate another of Christie's well known mysteries, Murder at the Vicarage, another in the Miss Marple series. I've had it on my to-read list for awhile.

I'm going to nominate Motherless Brooklyn; a homage to the classic detective novel about a PI who suffers from Tourettes

message 9: by Janet (new)

Janet (goodreadscomjanetj) | 86 comments How about The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. The story of an autistic child would give us lots to discuss.
