By the way, do you have the correct ISBN to hand, as you've added the ISBN-13 into the ISBN-10 slot? If it's not corrected people will not be able to search for or find the book easily.

I've just started correcting and refining some of the information on my books. The edited George MacDonald books in particular have tangled histories - let's start with a fairly easy one.These two listings are actually the same book, and I assume you would prefer to have them combined -

So, both books merged. I could use the cover from Amazon, but it's just the same cover but larger. If you are able to upload a scan of your own personal copy and it's better, we can use that instead.

... except that I am not now noted as the editor / co-author of this edition, and it therefore no longer appears in my list of books. (And of course I can't edit it to add the correct cover.)
Once that's fixed, I will cheerfully upload the new cover myself if you wish, or will send it to an address of your choosing for review. (I was able to add the missing covers for 7 of my books overnight.)

Ah, that's because you were noted on the one book, but not on the other (I kept the one with the ISBN). We do not usually note editors for single-author works, but if you were in fact primarily co-author, then that's fine. I've added you back based on this.
If you are unable to add the cover yourself (which I don't think you will be able to, as you're not the primary author), then please add it to your photos section and we can take it from there. :)
Susie - thanks again on #238 and #242. I was actually able to add the better cover image directly, although my first attempt bounced because the file was "too large." It appears your system likes cover images that aren't much bigger than 400 x 600 pixels.There are two sequels to this book (plus two "package" sets) that are not correctly identified in the Goodreads database. I'll list them here for corrections because they're all related, but if you want them submitted individually (or in another thread) please let me know. I'm still feeling my way around this place ...

Thank you for your patience in getting all this straightened out. There is a lot of misinformation "out there" about the various MacDonald editions and abridgements, but it's to our mutual advantage to weed out the errors that have crept in.
There are 5 more MacDonald books to be corrected, but I will submit them individually as they are not connected to each other.
Ah right, it makes sense now - old books re-edited for re-release. Should have looked at the date! :)It might be easier to start a new thread if there are still a lot of corrections. But I have done the ones here.

Susie - you work quickly! (#244) We're * almost * there.I have added artwork for books 2 and 3 and supplied a corrected description for "Seaboard Parish" straight from the back of the book.
Now ... the plot thickens (again). The hardbound edition of "Parish Papers" actually was issued without my involvement or knowledge - as a Book Club edition or gift book of some sort. Chariot-Victor was apparently the printer, but may not have been the actual publisher and distributor; I was (eventually) told that CV had sold "some" sets of unbound pages to another entity who had bound the pages and sold them or given them away as a promotion. I bought one years after the fact when (to my astonishment) I spotted a hardbound listed on eBay. (I have only seen 3 copies so far in the hardback version.)
That particular ISBN is a bit of a mystery. The imprint page lists an ISBN of 1-56476-618-7, which is exactly the same as the original paperback edition. (Didn't think they were supposed to do that.) Furthermore, there is a bar code on the back cover that has the numbers 6-12608-76618-1, and a box further over with "15582" inside. There are no further clues on the dust jacket, which simply reproduces the paperback front cover and spine art but omits the description on the back.
I have no idea how you would like to handle the listing for that one ... but thanks for trying.
I was online at the time! :)OK, well it sounds like it'll be easier to leave the hardcover as it is, then. There is a UPC/UCC database, but that holds no clues, either. In instances of books being reissued with the same ISBN, we usually add a librarian's note, but I don't think that it's necessary in this case. The book record isn't a new one (was created in 2009), so I don't think there'll be any problems with it.
If there's any more issues, just let us know! :)
