I never acquire a book just for the cover so I am going to either pick a book in a series I am reading where I love the covers or a stand alone book I got from the library because the cover initially caught my eye.

http://fictfact.com is great for series tracking. Bad on the wallet with the lists of "next in series" and "coming soon for your series" displays ...
It's not another book site with a social scene, reviews, groups, etc. Just tracks your series (you can do a star rating and you can "follow" other people but all the "follow" does is show you what series they are tracking).

Does this get you the extra grande size :D

Also, does it have to the MC or just any character? I have books that are shelved as 'witches' but I can't tell from the descriptions if the MC is the witch or just supporting characters.
Ah sorry...I just noticed that it also says "any form of magic." So all the books I'm thinking should work.

Shelf is comin' up shortly.
In the meantime - I've been wondering ... How's everyone making out with the longer game? Still hanging in there and enjoying it or not so much?

I'm on the fence about the winning patterns. On the one hand, every call is potentially in line for a win; on the other hand it's not exciting yet like when a shelf call gives you three or four in a winning pattern. Just not there yet with our 6 of 9 needed stamps.
It's less exciting that a shelf call is in a winning pattern -- because they all are. That's likely going to change the closer to winning call we get.
It's less exciting that a shelf call is in a single winning pattern compared to a shelf call that could mean a win in multiple directions. Particularly those corner ones that could win vertically, horizontally or diagonally.
I'm pretty sure once multiple teams have eight shelves in a winning pattern, that the possible winner will pretty much be decided which could steal away from the excitement. Not as likely there will be a race to the finish between multiple teams for which final shelf call is a win in a variety of patterns ... I don't think any of the cards have the exact same shelves in any of the winning patterns see a race to finish.

love your new name with 3 shelf call

As to winning shelves, check out Judithe's speadsheet, she's got a couple of teams needing the same shelves to win already. Look at the bottom.

Glad ya'll are enjoying this round. It's in the running for longest. 10-12 has been common, while 14 is the longest, I think. This is our 13th and no winning shelf as yet.
ETA: And I guess I was more curious about how everyone is enjoying this style (multiple/new patterns) vs this length of game.

Oh crap I didn't realize today could have been a potential win for anyone yet. Wasn't even stressing it yet because still thinking most had 5-6 at most in winning patterns ( possibly a 7th for Team 5, 9, 12 & 14 once all stamped) and the spreadsheet was showing non-winning shelf names. Oh well, misreading the spreadsheet saved myself some stress and if today's call was the win for anyone someone would have said so already.
What shelf call would have made two teams potentially win today or get 8 in a pattern at least? Which teams already have more than six in a pattern stamped? (I'm not sure I'm reading the spreadsheet correctly or I wouldn't ask.)

There are a couple of teams with 7, this shelf gives Team #2 8 shelves, but I don't think they've read them all yet.
