I finished

and really liked Gena Showalter's story, Maggie Shayne's was just ok, and really didn't like Susan Krinard's. I'm now reading
[image error]
and loving it!!

I had to stop when I found out there was a prequel which I've now read, Iron Hunt is making more sense now but I'm still finding it difficult to read.

Well I finished this one and have to say that I was disappointed. For me it did not live up to the synopsis on the back. Too bad because there was great potential. At this point I don't know that I will check out other books by this same author.
I had heard Martinez compared to Christopher Moore, and I didn't care for him. I think this is just the kind of book that isn't for me, but it doesn't mean that others won't love him.
Sometimes I like to talk to people who have a totatlly opposite opinion of mine on a book. I love hearing how what made me "buy" into the book is the same thing that made them hate it. It doesn't matter whatever it is, I just think it is interesting.
I finished
[image error]
, which I really liked except for the cliffhanger. I felt like almost nothing was explained. Now reading
. I'm only about 80 pages in, but it has REALLY sucked me in!
Shannon,I read Martinez's Gil's All Fright Diner and had a similar reaction: it wasn't for me.
Same with the Xanth books and horror of horrors --- The Hitchiker's Guide...But I love Spider Robinson's Callahan boks...
Whatever. I'm reading and liking Greywalker, the first in Richardson's series about Harper Blaine, a P.I. who can see ghosts. (There was quite a good novella about this character in Mean Streets.) I got books #2 & #3 from the library, but I don't feel in hurry to read them, right now...
I write "Kiss of Shadows" from Laurell K. Hamilton and was very surprised how good this book is. I love the Anita Blake series, but the Meredith series seems to be very good, too :-)

Count me in as another one who couldnt' get into the Greywalker books. I liked the guy who she called that seemed to do everything more than the main character.I just picked up
and will be starting that tonight.

~♡Katie♡~ wrote: "i started Masquerade today and am going to also start One Foot in the Grave"Love! that series! One of the best when it come to keeping you hooked
I am reading
. I am so glad that this was chosen as the BOM as I don't know that I would have tried it on my own. I am about half way through right now and loving it.

That it definitely part of it. But I also found the whole plot bland, and I couldn't stand Denise's whinning.
Currently reading the latest Kim Harrison book,
. So far so good, but I'm worried that she's falling into Laurell K. Hamilton's trap of the "super character" whose abilities just grow and grow and too many men who are secretly (or not so secretly) in love with her.
I have been reading series on and off for a year. I have let a pile of other books pile up on my table for a while, so I am starting of those. I am reading the Queen's Dollmaker now.
I just finished
and im going to read
next. I really just want to finish the series before all the new books for 2010 come out :)
Darcy wrote: "I will be starting [image error] tomorrow."Its pretty good. I liked his others better though.
I just finished Kim Harrison Black Magic Sanction...wow I loved it! Now I have to wait another year for aonther book!
~♡Katie♡~ wrote: "i have started Beautiful Creatures today but i have only read a few pages so i dont know what i think just yet although it does sound interesting."I bought that today, I love the cover.

I was going to start Beautiful Creatures but my 13yo grabbed it. :)Adam, Eve of Destruction is on my dropped shelf. Awful.
I just finished Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. Really enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of the True Blood series so I thought it was about time I read the books! I'm now reading
by Judi Fennell
Finished Soulless which I loved. Read Cheryl St. John's Her Colorado Man which was very sweet. That's two from my piles, but I received Fantasy in Death by J.D. Robb. I am starting that tonight. I can resist anything but temptation.
I'm reading the 2nd book in Jeri Smith-Ready's WVMP series, Bad to the Bone. Great playlists, neat take on vampires and much fun.
I finished Fantasy in Death by J.D. Robb. I am reading They Call Her Mrs. Doc. It was a gift from a friend who practically insisted I read it right away.
Just Finished City of AshesThinking about what book I should start with next going to try to get into and finish Wings
Ronda wrote: "I'm reading the 2nd book in Jeri Smith-Ready's WVMP series, Bad to the Bone. Great playlists, neat take on vampires and much fun."I LOVE this series and hardly ever see it mentioned on any of the boards. Glad to find someone else reading it! I'm really looking forward to the next one,
.
I just finished Blackout by Connie Willis and loved it!!! Loved it so much I'm making bangers and mash for dinner tonight! (It's set in England during World War II and it's brilliant.) (But it's only half done-- the other half will be out in the fall.)Next up is Underground by Kat Richardson, #3 in her Harper Blaine series.
Katie I really like the series. I was worried that I was bored with the genre, because I had started Guilty Pleasures and it was not pulling me in. But 2 pages into this series and I was hooked. I like how utterly flawed Cat is but Bones just loves her. I liked to see how her evolution of her prejudice is resolved. I am so upset *********spoiler*******they are not together though!!!!! Excited to see what happens in #2. I just found out that (is it #5?) won't be out until 2011 but there will be a short story released in an anthology this summer in
I finished reading Fire and listening to Kitty Raises Hell. I am now listening to Territory and cross stitching while I listen. I don't think that I could get through Territory if I were reading it. Very slow paced and overly descriptive (for my tastes), but well written. The book is 320 pages and the audiobook is 13 hours. Maybe the readers are just extra slow. The Kitty book's audios are around 8 hours unabridged.
