What are you reading? (Part 1)

I really believed that Hamilton was making fun of Jean-Claude by giving him this terrible taste in fashion, and then eventually Anita would convince him that he needed to hire a stylist or something. Hmmm. I just read a scene in Burnt Offerings (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #7) where Anita was admiring the way he had straightened his hair and curled it under at the ends. Seriously? Ewww. That's creepy. Maybe I'm just imagining it wrong?
@ Melissa, good to know because so far it's not really sucking me in. @ Melodie, the fact that James Marsters does the audiobook is why I read the first one. I didn't buy the audiobook then, but that was when everybody was hoping he's get the part for Harry in the tv series. For Fool Moon I got the audiobook!
I actually started reading
. I might put down Magic Bites until I'm finished with the last Blue Bloods. I usually don't read two of the same genre at the same time. It might still be fantasy but say one urban and one YA or epic.
I heard that Disney bought rights to blue bloods to make a movie. It looks as though they did the same with Adrian Phoenix's Makers Song series. Here's the link for the Adrian Phoenix movie gossip...http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/3399...
Blood Vice I'm reading Blood Vice by Keith Melton (Urban Fantasy), I have about 100 pages to go. So far it has been dark intense read. It's about a vampire in Boston, who works as a hit man for the mafia. He gets tangled up with one of a mob boss's daughter and things are getting very complicated. Very good so far. I hope to finish it tonight.
Carrie wrote: "^^ Hmmmm, that sounds interesting!"It is! I haven't read any wise-guy vampire themed novels before, and I'm finding, I like it.
I'm reading Charlaine Harris' Grave Secrets, the 4th in her Harper Connelly mysteries. I like that she's jumping into the family stuff full force. It's what needed to happen next.
Valorie wrote: "I heard that Disney bought rights to blue bloods to make a movie. It looks as though they did the same with Adrian Phoenix's Makers Song series. I'm halfway through Burnt Offerings (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #7), and I really like it! Lots of action!

Melodie wrote: "Valorie wrote: "I heard that Disney bought rights to blue bloods to make a movie. It looks as though they did the same with Adrian Phoenix's Makers Song series. I tend to prefer my books to stay in my head, as film adaptations as so rarely done well.
I've so far read 2/3 of Graceling and I'm *loving* it. I've requested Fire by Kristin Cashore which looks like it's set in the same place but with different characters.
Next, I never know! I've got Bad Mother
Oryx and Crake
The Forest of Hands and Teeth
Lullaby for Morons ftom the library
and borrowed from a friend Mistress of the Art of Death
and just bought Blood Lite...
Julia wrote: "and just bought Blood Lite......"I thought BLOOD LITE was terribly disappointing. I read it last year, and there was very little in it that was really worth the trouble.

I've heard that this was the last in the Harper series.
I've heard that this was the last in the Harper series.
I just finished
and really enjoyed it. I think it was the best one so far from the Walker Papers series. I'm now starting on
I am reading The Graveyard Book and Specials right now. Hoping to finish both soon because I have a long list of books at home waiting for me!
Currently listening to The Reader by Bernhard Schlink on an audiobook from the library. Also reading The Darkest Night by Gena Showalter. I read a book in her other series, Alien Huntress, and didn't even finish it because it was not good, in my opinion. After hearing many good things about her Lords of the Underworld series, I decided to give her one more chance. So far, I'm loving it! :)
Up next is The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman on audiobook and On the Edge by Ilona Andrews.

I'm enjoying Many Bloody Returns more than I though I would. I have really liked the majority of the short stories in this one!
I finished Fade Out by Rachel Caine. Obviously beginning of new story arc. Liked it a lot. Now readingOnce Upon Stilletos (Katie Chandler #2).
I just finished
. Wow another fantastic book in the Riley Jenson saga! I could not put it down! I'm now starting
Reading Kushiel's Dart- Jacqueline Carey. I find I have to really pay attention due to the writing. Took me the first couple of chapters to get into but I'm liking it. Anyone else have a similiar experience?
I just started reading
I've heard great things about it and it's by Richelle Mead so I'm thinking it will be a great read, but I've read too little of it to say for sure.
Dawn, I love Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel series. I think the style does take getting used to especially if you've been reading a lot of faster paced books, but its worth it. Stick with it. The world building is fascinating and her characters are all rich and easy to love.
Hey Dawn, I have that one on my list, but haven't started it. I'll keep you posted when I do.

I pretty much feel the same way. Plot's interesting, characters are good, love story is the same old, same old.
Just started listening to
And currently reading
--I'm about 1/3 into it and it's getting good. Slogged through some world building in the beginning, but considering how much I love her Kate Daniels series and the world building totally paid off in that series, I have no problem with some set-up in the 1st book of this series.
Lazuline,What are you thinking about Liar? I really enjoyed her Magic series...
This week I've read Graceling, which I loved, Lullaby for Morons, which is interesting, Bad Mother which was a good read.
Am about to start Glass.

really enjoyed it. It's more of an Urban Fantasy opposed to Paranormal Romance. Not to much romance in it, but a good read all the same. Great plot and smart, witty writing. I really liked the main heroine, Lily. She was a sarcastic kick ass character! I'm now starting on

Finished Stargazer yesterday.Lazuline and Melodie - I think I prefer Balthazar to Lucas. The storyline is interesting enough to make me want to read the next one. If nothing else, they are fast reads!
I just finished
I enjoyed it. It took me a few chapters to get past Morgan's negativity towards demons but still a good read once you get into it. It does have some S&M and M/M scenes, so if that is not your cup of tea you might not enjoy it. The scenes are nothing too extravagant and few and far between. I still enjoyed the plot and the smart writing. I am definitely adding the next book to my TBR pile! I'm now starting on
I've been on a comic book kick lately. Right now I'm reading
. I just finished up
. I'm really loving these! On a different note, I think I'm going to go ahead and return Blue Moon andObsidian Butterfly to the library. I just can't get into Anita Blake right now. I think the whole Jean-Claude dressing like something out of the Three Musketeers finally did me in.
I just finished
by S.J. Day and loved it!! Her take on the Cain & Abel story was fantastic!! Great plot and spectacular writing! Two hot brothers fighting over one woman, can't beat it! I can't wait to jump into the next book in the series (I have to wait until next month, it's in one of my challenges). I'm starting on

again. All this hype over the New Moon move has made me get sentimental over the book that started it all. *sigh*

and reread it after the holidays. The movie comes out in June and I want to refresh my memory before then.

I love his Dresden Files series also!! I've read them all and they seem to just keep getting better as you go!"

The first Harry Dresden, STORM FRONT, was, IMHO, terrible! A friend insisted I give the series another chance and I am so glad I did as the books have just gotten better and better. And if you can listen to the audios, even STORM FRONT is better! James Marsters, who played Spike on Buffy, is the reader and he is perfect.
