As I said in my previous post, access to the internet has been pretty hit or miss in the last couple of days. I am working on getting everything updated right now.

In post 45 I listed Running Blind that would fit in the animal challenge and post 52 First thrills. They would both fit in the animal challenge - Jellyfish. Is that how it works. Then do I need to keep trying to fill in Jellyfish or can I pick another animal with other letters for next time if I need it.J

No, Don help yourself to anything left on Jellyfish. I am reading a book now for the J but anything else is open.

Animals do not necessarily need to be completed, but I am going to assign books to animals in progress to see how many can be completed, unless specifically told which animal to use it for.
With yours and Don's next planned books, Jellyfish will be almost halfway done.

This book is still on your currently reading shelf and not tagged with the team shelf. I am adding it to your list here, but the mods will not officially count it until it is tagged correctly.
FYI - I am going out of town and will not have access to the internet except from my phone on Saturday or Sunday. I will be making sure everything has been updated on Friday night, but anything finished over the weekend will have to wait until I get back. I will be able to check in and respond to posts, but I will not be updating the spreadsheets and the September Mod Challenge until I get back.

Judge & Jury by James Pattersonwould work for Day 11 - b. book with only one survivor
b. book with only one survivor - MC is on a sequestered jury that is bussed to the courthouse everyday. The bus gets blown up and she is the sole survivor.
VV if I am understanding the challenge correctly that should complete the Book a Day requirement for
9.9% or 9 BAPs. Is that right? Then I can concentrate on filling in the alphabet and animal challenges.

Yes, that will bring the total up to 32, which is the 1/3 for reading 9.9%. You have definitely filled your part of the Book a Day challenge and can focus on alphabet or animals now if you want. If they will fit, I may add a few more of the other players books to that challenge until it reaches 42 which is the most that would be needed if everyone decided to join, just in case. (I don't really expect everyone to want to participate, I just like to err on the side of caution.)
Since they can decide to participate up until the end of the month, it will be easier to slot books into spell-out at the last minute than the Book a Day Challenge.
I was too tired when I got back last night, but I will update everything tonight. Great reading this weekend.

Sure, Sapir. Do you want me to activate your numbers on that section of the the Sunday Update spreadsheet?

Sapir wrote: "Can I join the challenge now? :)"I added you to my list and now I will add your books to the 3 challenges.
Viscountess Viridian Now that more of the team are joining the challenge does that change the # of books that need to be read?

Yes, I have updated the list of participants and team members in the first posts of this thread. The team is still on track to read close to 9.9%. You have already reached your individual goal for 9.9%, so any more books you read will help out the other teammates. Sapir had already read her individual goal when she joined, so any more books she reads in September will help out the other members too.
I was wondering how many additional books had to fit the book a day since the numbers have been increased.
Sheila wrote: "I was wondering how many additional books had to fit the book a day since the numbers have been increased."There are plenty of books for the Book a Day challenge. After today no one can drop out, but I had added extra books to that challenge in case someone did. On Wed when I updated everything, there was 43 and only 37 needed. You don't need to worry about fitting books to a day.

I just wondered because I am reading a book with a horse on the cover and we didn't have anything listed on that particular day.
Thanks for answering so quickly VV. I appreciate all you do for the team.

I can put more books into that challenge if you want. The 1/3 of the total books is only a minimum number.
Sheila wrote: "How was the Rowling book Erin?"I would be interested in this too. I put it on hold at my library, but it is going take a while before I get it since there are a lot of holds on it now.
I will not be updating the spreadsheet and the first posts in this thread again until Sunday when I go home. My truck broke down and I am stuck where I am dogsitting with no wifi and internet access only through my phone or at work. The team is doing really well, though, and looks to be on track to reaching the 9.9% goal.I can do minor edits of posts so I might update totals of books read if you post them here, just not the listing of where each book fits until Sunday.
Sheila wrote: "No Wifi?? HORRORS"I know, I did not really realize how much I relied on it until I started dogsitting for this person.
My totals have the team at 72 books right now, from what was posted here after I updated. The goals are 80, 94, or 111 respectively for 7%, 8.33%, or 9.9%.

I like Harry Potter much better, and I found that in the grand scheme of mystery, Cuckoo's Calling was only OK. It felt a little jumbled to me, and I didn't really get into it until the last 100 pages or so. I will be writing a review of it, I am just really far behind right now on my reviews >.<
Rest assured, Forest Green, the Mods' September Challenge of the SU-your Team's page updates when a members joins or leaves.
We added a line on everyone's page of the SU, below the totals, that reflect what 1/3 of the books would be (for the 'Book a Day...' portion of the challenge) for that percent. Indicated below, with the pink arrow:
By the way, the 'Book a Day...' portion is a Team goal total. In other words, you may have a participating member not fit any of their books into that challenge, and another do all their books so they apply.

Please note: We change the rules - to simplify the math - so that you only have to have a minimum of one (1) book in either of the other two challenges. That box is coded so that it changes, too.![]()
