Truthfully... as unpopular as this opinion will be, I understand (view spoiler)[ where Anden is coming from. I mean, yes it's a horrific thing to ask for Eden's assistance, but when your whole country's at stake, it's not an unreasonable request. And it isn't like Anden's wanting to reinstate the conditions from before -- if he handles it correctly, Eden's life isn't in danger and he'll be treated like a king. That said, of course Day's knee-jerk reaction is going to be "oh hell no." I can't really blame him for that either, but he has to consider that with his health as precarious as it is, now is the best time to negotiate that... if he dies, he's risking them just coming in and taking Eden which would probably end up a much worse situation. I totally agree with you. Anden's in a tough position. (view spoiler)[ I'm not yet to the part where I understand what exactly Anden wants from Eden. Also, I can't help wondering whether there simply wasn't any other way? Really? Also, I think I'm okay with Eden being used that way. The only thing that makes me hesitate is how this would affect Day... (hide spoiler)]

This is basically exactly how I feel. Not actually worried about (view spoiler)[ Eden, lol, but Day will throw fits and do stupid things so I'm worried about that. (hide spoiler)]

This is a much stronger book than Prodigy, I think. Soo much is happening!

My jury's still out on Anden. I still kind of think (view spoiler)[ he and June might make a good couple. I do have to appreciate Lu's very gutsy move to take both Tess and Anden out of the picture as romantic triangle people this early in the book. Was not expecting that. (hide spoiler)]

I haven't decided if this book repeats itself endlessly or if I really like it or both. I am actually not sure why (view spoiler)[ bloodwork is making Eden throw up, since if you're just drawing blood, that does not make you hurt or throw up, other than the whole needle in the arm thing. So unless they're doing something other than drawing blood to try and develop a cure, that makes zero sense.

I feel like this section didn't really go anywhere even though I'm still very interested to see how this wraps up. While Tess's maturity was nice? I guess? it didn't seem realistic, nor did her "I was depending on you instead of myself so I'm just going to go do that now." But the twist with the plague, while not entirely unexpected was pretty good.

I still really rather like Anden. Yes, he's kind of scary and you can completely see how he could turn into his father, but there's still hope for him.

And just a minor thing but I thought Day leaving the message with the face and red streak of hair so people would know it was him was just kind of cool. I liked it.

Also, I think they did some sort of other tests in him too, didn't they? That was what Day was aftaid of?

I kinda knew Day would live, but making him forget his memories of time with June was so cruel and yet PERFECT. Him forgetting everything he had to loose because of her.... that is convenient but was the most realistically done dystopian ending. I loooved June and Day by the end (hide spoiler)]

Well that was a bit unepected. It was (view spoiler)[ a gutsy move to separate Day and June, and I think I liked it. Because of that, I'm not 100% sure I liked her undoing it at the end.
