Just got done with Chapter 4.

Finished!! Holy moly that was so good! (view spoiler)[ I was so excited about June's plan. It seemed risky, but we all knew it would work, and they'd live happily ever after. BUT THEN IT ALL WENT WRONG! How did Thomas and the Commander find out that June stole that bomb? That, and moving the date forward, stressed me out a lot. It's okay, they're safe now, but it still worried me! I gave this four stars, not five, because the world didn't make sense. Why give the poor people the plague if they've already been separated from the strong? And why did they try to kill Day when he got a perfect score? I want to read the next book to find out, which I guess is the point... But I still wouldn't preferred less loose ends (hide spoiler)]

Starting a day late due to finishing other BR first - but I'm excited!

"Chapter 1" (view spoiler)[ Starts off with a definite bang! I'm curious about this 'star' on the door instead of the 'X' that is on other plague victims homes. I have a ton of questions but I'm only 1 chapter in, so it would make sense that I don't have all the answers yet.
My biggest question, is who is Tess, because she isn't mentioned on the back of the book with June & Day. (hide spoiler)]

page 60 (view spoiler)[ I think I like Day's chapters better, possibly because there's more 'action' in them. I think I see some of June in me, so maybe I'm a little more leery of her sections. Tess is a good friend.
I keep getting confused about who's fighting who. Republicans are the good guys? Against the Colonies who are the bad guys? And even though Day isn't a Colonist, he's still not for the Republicans? I think... (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I liked how this started off. The similarities between Day and June are not many. One main thing they have in common is there love for their family. That X with a line through it bugged me too, what could it mean? When Thomas came to June's door and said that Metias was died I wondered how because a shoulder wound wouldn't result in death, unless it was really bad and the person bled out, but Metias was stabbed in the heart. Maybe that's also part of the conspiracy. Killing Day's mother was just cruel, now he's the one out for revenge. I'm a bit glad that June didn't reveal that Day had a partner though...she has some sense left. (hide spoiler)]

I finished this early this morning.

(view spoiler)[I didn't like Thomas at the beginning of the book and I sure hated him at the end. Kaede being a patriot was slightly shocking. So the plague was intentional, seriously, I feel that the entire republic are lab rats. Day got a perfect score! That was amazing. I wonder why they hid it though. I liked the way the book ended. I wasn't expecting there plan to go well...as planned. Something always goes wrong. Poor John though. I'm glad they got out. (hide spoiler)]

3.5/5 stars. Looking forward to reading Prodigy.
