I don't think I've ever seen the name Lissianna anywhere else.

Sheila (sheilaj) | 1 comments Dawn I'm still searching books for planet. Do any of these work?

1. The planet teetered than spun out of orbit

2. Its not like he's telling me he's Superman from the planet Krypton, right?

3. disappeared from the face of the earth

4. She's the most lively yet down-to-earth person I've ever met

5. they need only the shortest amount of time on Earth

6. sun boils into the Gulf like a molten red planet

7. Women were the biggest gossips on the planet

3, 4 & 7 don't work because it is in the term of earth/planet as a realm not an actual planet orbiting a sun.

The rest of them would work.

Sheila (sheilaj) | 1 comments OK Thanks Dawn, I guess I am having a hard time with seeing the difference. I will hold one of those approved books back in case Mr. R. gets it in his head to call planet. :)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Sheila wrote: "OK Thanks Dawn, I guess I am having a hard time with seeing the difference. I will hold one of those approved books back in case Mr. R. gets it in his head to call planet. :)"

The easiest way to know is if you are using the word earth it needs to be capitalized. The proper noun Earth is a planet. The word earth can be dirt, soil, a realm of existence etc.

message 159: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Ok looking harder at it Sheila I would take #7 too. It isn't quite what I wanted, but it does reference the planet.

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Ok, I took my daughter to school and while I was gone my puppy spilled my coffee on my keyboard. While it dries out I am on my iPad which is harder to reply. So if I miss a question please ask again.

message 174: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Melanie,
Felt like a ball will work.

In order for Earth to count as a planet it needs to be the proper noun. With a capital E.

message 175: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Pat, like a football player would work for pro sport but not a ball, since the actual ball is not referenced just the person.

message 176: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Lauren a ball of yarn or light would work.

message 177: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

I'm with Sheila, I don't see much of a difference on that earth thing.

What book is that, so I can write the author a nasty email?
Native African grab isn't a "Costume", just like an Indian Sari isn't a "Costume" but traditional attires.
SMH.

would this be ok for planet-->“If the aliens are trying to control Buffalo Bill's thoughts from another planet, Senator Martin can protect him — is that the pitch?”

message 186: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Gea all would work.

message 187: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Ezi, the word earth has several meanings. It can be the physical dirt that our planet is made of. It can be a realm of existence, as in heaven and earth are different realms. If it is capitalized as a proper noun then that is in reference to the planet.

A lot of the examples given refer to the realm of existence.

message 188: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Lizz and Megan, not quite what I was looking for but I'll take them both.

message 189: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Rain needs to be water from the sky. So rain check won't work.

Metropolitan Area is a large city, you can list a city name (New York, Chicago, L.A., London, etc)

There is a slight difference between shadow and silhouette. If the shadow has clear definable lines in the shape of a person or thing, then it would be a silhouette. Just a regular shadow will not work.

Yes, ice cream will work.
