PattyMacDotComma One for fans of Charles Dickens. I reckon he'd have been an activist blogger if he'd been around today. My review of Select Short Fiction

Gisela Hausmann | 63 comments Quite fascinating and in a way surprising:
Unmasking Narcissism: A Guide to Understanding the Narcissist in Your Life
however it did not address social media issues. In how far does social media activity (e.g. bragging on FB) lead to people becoming more narcissistic? (just a thought)

Chrissie, I did a little reading on that and what I got was "no" that Staying On stands on its own from both a character and thematic perspective. I certainly didn't feel like my enjoyment of it was in any way negatively affected by a lack of understanding of what had happened during the Raj.

Chrissie I can definitely recommend Life Stories: Profiles from The New Yorker. They are essays and I rarely read essays because they are just too short, but this book is just so very good! Some of these essays are hysterical.

dely | 5214 comments I have finished the edition with all the short stories by Franz Kafka. Not for me, 2 stars.

I also think that it wasn't the best book to read on the beach though I like to read there short stories because from one time to the other I don't miss any plot.

I absolutely loved that one as a kid. then I reread it and, nope, it had lost its shine. I demoted it from five to three stars.

THAT was in fact the very first book I listened to as an audiobook! I thought it would be good to start with something I already knew.

I've been reading classic children's novels from my phone to our daughters when we have spare moments in the car, and we've gotten through Secret Garden, Little Princess, Railway Children and Enchanted Castle, but I hadn't heard of the Lost Prince. I'll have to check that out!
