Here's my review:

The author explains how companies have to put at the center of their economy the consumer but not only as a consumer, but as a human being. He wants an economy based on universal values and ideals that stops thinking only about its profit, but has to do also the profit of the consumer and the enviroment. He talks a lot about his own experience, about why and how a person has to change in order to be a better person not only for himself but for society.
The author isn't a dreamer, but he is a management director of one of the biggest banks in Italy and if I don't go wrong he founded also a Corporate University.
Really very very interesting. I loved it.
I have written only an Italian review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Of course I'm reading in publication, not chronological, order, like all true fans. ;-) Review of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe:

My review

I devoured Paul Zindel's books as a teenager and The Undertaker was one of my favourites. Is this a reread or your first go?

This book is since a long time in my wishlist. I really hope to read it this year. But I'm looking for a paperback. It seems that the color of the font changes depending where the story takes place, or something like this.
I had seen and loved the movie as a child but I never got to read the book.
dely wrote: "Jason wrote: "Just finished a long-time tbr special, The Neverending Story by Michael Ende and golly gee do I wish I had read it when I was young, I am sure I would have..."
Interesting dely! I didn't know that about the color of the font. I saw and loved the movie as a child too, and also never read the book. As a child, I didn't even know there was a book version.

Indeed! I have read it in the comments of a friend's review. I add you the link to the review so you can go through the comments if you want: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
It seems that not all the English editions have this thing of the colors so it's good to find out before buying the book, above all online (well, in a bookstore you can leaf through the book).

I too loved the movie as a child, and as one would expect the book holds much more.

A re-read though I couldn't remember much about it. I only had this one and The Pigman, which I've re-read a little while before this.

I read this many years ago in the version that changed colours. Beautifully presented. Our copy was from the library. At the time I thought it was a terrific book and so did my husband and young son. This was long before the movie came out. Sadly the paperback book that appeared after the movie was very ordinary in appearance.

I was disappointed in this one for reasons mentioned in the review

Yes, I think it's an important detail of the book. I have now added in my Amazon basket the German edition with the different colors. I'm waiting to add another book so that I don't have to pay the shipping charges and then I will order it.

I really can't say, Chrissie. I've read 4 of her books so far; all good in their own way. They aren't connected but they all pull something out of Miriam's past. Her life does inspire her stories, I think.
One was a coming of age story where the young girl needs to find her footing in life (A Complicated Kindness)
Another a middle aged woman needs to find her footing after the death of her husband (Irma Voth) (this story would least be triggered from Miriam's life story, I think)
A touching look int the life of her father (Swing Low: A Life)
A look into depression and sisterhood (All My Puny Sorrows)
The writing style is the same in all, which makes me think that a reader will either enjoy her stories or not.
Of the four, All My Puny Sorrows was my favorite; Irma Voth my least favorite (a bit drawn out).

I appreciate your help, Petra.
