2013 August Pick It For Me! Challenge

Me too!

◈Purple {Used to symbolize magic and mystery}:
1) Book with Magic: The Prophet by Amanda Stevens because you seem to like the series and it has magic. I haven't tried this series yet but people have been mentioning it to me.
2) Purple Cover: Never Seduce a Scot by Maya Banks because I love romance and this one was sweet. This was my first book by Maya Banks.

◈Blue {Coolest Color}:
1) Book that is perfect for a lazy day reading: A Knight in Shining Armor because this book was so sweet. It has a bit of time travel, but it is one of my favorite romance novels.
2) Blue cover: On the Island because this book was a 5-star read for me. If you loved the movie Castaway with Tom Hanks, then you will also enjoy this one.

◈Green {Safe Color}:
1)Book from an series you have read and rated highly: By a Thread because I love the Elemental assassin series and you must like it too if you are on book six.
2) Green Cover: Sins & Needles was a good read. It was quite angsty and a little dark, just a little. But it was very engaging.

◈Yellow {Joy & Happiness}:
1) Book with romance: On the Jellicoe Road which I haven't read but it's on my wishlist at audible. I heard it is a sweet book, but that tissue is needed too.

◈Orange {Power Color}:
1) Book from a not-your-norm genre/out of your comfort zone: Hot Head is an m-m book. I plan on reading it this month and I heard good thing about it. It has romance and the reviews indicate it a good read.
2) Orange cover: Backstage Pass while I admit this book didn't do it for me, it's a popular series. It has very hot scenes and quite smexy.

◈Red:
1) Book that's red-hot off the press (released in the last 6 months): If I Were You because it's new. I haven't read this one.
2)Red cover: Seduce Me at Sunrise because I love this series. I am on book 4 of the Hathaways and LK is one of my favorite authors.

◈Black {Absence of color}:
1)Dystopian book: Enclave because I loved this one! It is a YA book, well written and very engaging. I even got my husband to read it!
2)Black cover: Crushed Seraphim I admit it, I know nothing about this book, but it's on your TBR shelf, so you have an interest in it.

◈White {Presence of All colors}:
1)Standalone book: Out of Play because it's new and I am going to read it as soon as it comes out.
2) White cover: In Her Shoes. It's on your TBR shelf, but it looks pretty interesting to me.

Blue: In Bed with a Highlander, it is a great read for a lazy day.
Green: Unveiled, I see that you have read a lot of HR-this one will not disappoint!
Yellow: Too Hot To Touch, as far as I can tell it has roamance...just look at the cover!! I haven't read this one...if you want to do a buddy read I am all for it! Let me know!!
Orange: Firespell, this is a pretty good start to a good series.
Red: Killing Me Softly,I heard that it is a good book!

Nichole, I want you to pick for me next time! I would never get through them all, but I love the options!!! Haha :)

◈Purple: From your shelves I picked Imitation in Death by J.D. Robb. I'm not nearly that far in the series, but I've really enjoyed listening to the ones I have read and it looks like you have too! New to you with a purple cover is When Beauty Tamed the Beast by Eloisa James. I rated the first one higher than you did, but even so this one was better! Also great to listen to!
◈Blue: I will admit that when I can find a lazy day (or night) to read I like me a little smut! =P So I picked a couple of smuttier ones for you here. Saddled and Spurred by Lorelei James - way better than the first in the series! Super sweet and smokin' hot - a great combination in my book!! And it is on your to-read shelf too. A new idea could be, Nauti Temptress by Lora Leigh. I thought it was fun to slip back into the Mackay's world, maybe you will too.
◈Green: It looks like you enjoyed Jennifer Ashley's Highland Pleasure series - me too! I recently listened to The Seduction of Elliot McBride and quite enjoyed it. But you also haven't read A Mackenzie Family Christmas: The Perfect Gift yet, so maybe that one instead. Both are on your preferred shelf, so I felt pretty safe picking them!
◈Yellow: Picked a couple of romance novels here - surprise! From your to-read-2013 shelf I found Jacked Up by Erin McCarthy. I thought it was wonderful. New to you is Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake by Sarah Maclean. I really enjoyed that whole series!
◈Orange: Right, find something out of your comfort zone?! Well, I managed to find two books with orange(ish) covers that are both new to you. First, I picked Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian. I was surprised that you hadn't read that series yet. I think one suffers a little from "first book in a series" syndrome, but I still liked it and really enjoy the series! This pick is a little different, but I loved this book - Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar by Cheryl Strayed. I laughed, I cried and I kept reading long after I should have stopped at night. This is the type of advice I wish I could give people! I liked this book more than her other book Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail, but I thought that was good too - go ahead and read that one if it appeals to you more. =)
◈Red: I picked The Newcomer by Robyn Carr off your preferred shelf - it was published very recently! But I thought you might like Cherish by Tere Michaels too.
◈Black: Three books I haven't read for this color. Archangel's Kiss by Nalini Singh and Crave by J.R. Ward - you rated the first books in both series highly so I thought you might want a push to continue. Or maybe, since it is the group buddy read for August, Wallbanger by Alice Clayton. (This cover is black, not white. That is my story and I'm sticking to it!!)
◈White: It looks like you have Mari Carr's books so I am suggesting Fix You. I liked that one and am going to try to read the second in the series in August. I read Tangled by Emma Chase for the group buddy read this month and thought it was a lot of fun! You have it on your to-read-2013 shelf - you know you want to read it!
I have my fingers crossed that you find something you want to read out of that list!!

Lol, I'm always so nervous that I won't pick the right ones! So I go crazy :)
I hope you like them Elizabeth! I just started the Rock Chick series and have had First Grave on the Right on my tbr forever!

No probs, Roxy - I'm flat out myself :) Fran won't see her picks for at least another 10 hours!

Here are your picks. Hopefully there is something that you like. I tried to do half new to you and half from your TBR.
◈Purple: {Used to symbolize magic and mystery}
Purple cover: Half-Bloodby Jennifer Armentrout (from your TBR)
Mystery: Cold Sight by Leslie Parrish (new to you). This book has a mystery plot with a little PNR included. I read this one a few years ago and really liked it. There are more in the series, but I haven't picked them up yet.
◈Blue: {Coolest Color}
Blue cover: Delirium by Lauren Oliver (new to you). I liked this series. This is a young adult/dystopian book.
Blue cover: Entwined by Elizabeth Naughton (from your TBR). I recently read this one and liked it.
◈Green: {Safe Color}
Green cover: Sword of Darkness by Kinley MacGregor (from your TBR).
Green cover: The Valcourt Heiress by Catherine Coulter (new to you). This is a historical romance with a twist. This book is not the first in the series, but it was the only one I was able to get from my library at the time and I really enjoyed the book. I was not lost having not read the first in the series. She also writes FBI thrillers that are very good as well.
◈Yellow: {Joy & Happiness}
Romance (paranormal): Morrigan's Cross by Nora Roberts (new to you). She is one of my favorite authors and this is one of her best books.
◈Orange: {Power Color}
Orange Cover: Quinn's Undying Rose by Tina Folsom (from your TBR).
Orange Cover: Twice Tempted by Jeaniene Frost (from your TBR).
Both of these were great books.
◈Red:
Releasing July 30th: Magic Rises by Ilona Andrews (from your TBR). Definitely qualifies as red-hot off the press. Personally, I can't wait to read it.
Red Cover: Cinder by Marissa Meyer (new to you). You seem to have read a few young adult books, and I know a few people who have said this was good.
◈Black: {Absence of color}
Dystopian: Insurgentby Veronica Roth (from your TBR). Although this book did not get the great reviews that the first one got, it was still good and I would recommend it.
Black cover: Storm Frontby Jim Butcher (from your TBR). This is a great read. I plan on reading the second one this month.
◈White: {Presence of All colors}
White cover: Rush by Maya Banks (new to you). You rated some of Maya's other books well, so I'm thinking you might like this one.
White Cover: Eternal Eden by Nicole Williams (from your TBR)

I hope you find a new favorite "book boyfriend" in this group. HAPPY READING!!!

1. Purple:
To Kill A Warlock Here is a fun book that is a mixture of both mystery and magic. I love HP Mallory books, they are fast paced and full of laughs!
Rock Chick Revolution I'm a huge Kristen Ashley fan. And her newest Rock Chick book is one I'm really looking forward too! Plus it's got that beautiful purple cover we needed! (I'd love to do a buddy read on this one)
2. Blue:
Simply Irresistible To me lazy day reading is all about sweet, simple stories, which I believe Jill Shalvis is perfect for. I didn't see any of her books on your shelf, but I saw you enjoy similar authors.
Pleasure Unbound I remember reading this one, I believe last year sometime. It starts off the creation of an interesting paranormal world.
3. Green:
Burn You've read a lot of her books and rated them pretty highly! You haven't given huge ratings to this sereis, but maybe third time will be the charm.
The Endearment This is a really great western historical that I was recommended awhile back!
4. Yellow
A Kingdom of Dreams I think we're in this group for a reason, so we can probably recommend these all day long! Here is one I was recommended last month that I really loved and couldn't put down!
Forged in FireHaven't read this one... honestly I was just looking through your to-reads for a random yellow cover. But, this one sounds really interesting! If you decide to read it let me know and I'll try to fit it in as another boddy read if possible!
5. Orange
Hot Head A lot of people, myself included, aren't sure they're comfortable with MM, but I did read this one and it wasn't as uncomfortable to read as I thought. Still not sure MM is my thing though... but you can't diss it until you try it.
Straight from the Hip I don't think this is Mallery's best series by any means... but the books are very enjoyable for the most part.
6. Red
Biting Bad Your on deck made this easy, since it has a lot of new releases ;) This one is coming out in about a week, and you've liked the series so far!
The Negotiator I saw you have read some Christian Fiction. Dee Henderson is one of my favorite Christian authors. She writes a lot os suspense that make it hard to put them down.
7. Black
Divergent You enjoyed the Hunger Games, so I think you will definitely enjoy this series. Very action-packed! I made the mistake of reading the first chapter on my computer before I moved it to my ereader... and spent the whole day on my computer reading this one straight through!
The Friday Night Knitting Club I hadn't recommended much Chick Lit.. mainly because I don't read it, but I know this one was crzy popular so hopefully you will enjoy it.
8. White
The Sea of Tranquility This is a beautiful book, that I almost always try to recommend. It's probably one of my favorite reads ever! And I just hope the author will grace us with more great reads.
Simply Irresistible I read this one a long time ago, and really enjoyed it. Athletes are always hot ;)
