How about a list of bad techno-thrillers? I'll start with Douglas Richards' "Wired," on the list of good ones. I couldn't finish the book. It was poorly edited, the dialog was not believable, and I just didn't get pulled in by the premise.

What did you think of Daniel Suarez's novels?
"Deamon" and "Freedom" were decent, but "Kill Decision" was like he was trying to write to get a movie contract or something. "Influx" was better but I think he ran out of where to go for an ending. Overall they are good books and I gave all of them three stars or higher.

Looking for something in a similar vein to read in the future if you have any suggestions. If this group is active at all.

It was great to hear from you sorry I had to wait till the weekend to reply. Yes I would recommend reading his work. What are you currently reading or would you recommend in a Techo-Thriller?

Have you read any of Alex Berenson's books? He has a whole series about John Wells, a former CIA guy who saves the U.S. from all sorts of disastrous situations. I think the series is probably more espionage than techno, but I definitely recommend them. Much more complex and engaging characters than most thrillers.

I see from your homepage your a military veterinarian, what happens to the injured dogs from the war?

Injured military dogs are usually initially stabilized by their handler or a nearby medic, and then treated by a military veterinarian like me at the closest base. There are two bigger vet hospitals, at Bagram and Kandahar, and they can do even more stabilization. For really severe injuries, the dogs are medevaced out to our main referral hospital in Germany where we have several specialists and round-the-clock care.

Those who read all or most of the Tom Clancy'so Jack Range series of books. In what order would you recommend reading them? In the order that they were written or in the chronological order of how the Jack Ryan'so story develops?

For the most part, they were written in order. "Patriot Games" was written later but predates "Hunt for Red October". "Red Rabbit" was written close to the end of the series and chronologically is book #2.

I suggest you read in the order they were written. The characters are developed in that order. If you read them chronologically, you will 'meet' characters at the same time as Jack and Co. will, but you won't know who they are or why they become important.

Just wanting to share my last techno thriller experience: The Scorpion by John A. Autero was so terrible, I reviewed it as 1-star.
It's not so easy to find good books in this genre..

The Seventh Sun by Kent Lester is a new release and looks interesting.
