That was made into a horror flick right? :P
The Nun"
I know it has been made into movies, but I haven't seen them.

Diane wrote: "The Ghost Road by Pat Barker."I have The Eye in the Door queued up for someday, but I thought Regeneration was kind of boring, so I've been putting it off. Have you liked this series so far?

Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Am hoping for more than I got out of his Hundred Years of Solitude.

Where did you find a copy? English translation copies are scarce/expensive. Are you reading it in Portuguese or Spanish? The university library here has it only in Portuguese. They do have his Third Bank of the River and his Sagarana in English and I am planning to read one of those though they aren't on the list. I'll have to try interlibrary loan.

Really? My local library has it in English (so the catalog claims) Maybe I should get it sooner than later. I will do so the day it reopens!

海辺のカフカ〈上〉 by Haruki Murakami.Taking the plunge here and picked up Murakami's Kafka On the Shore in the original. It comes in two volumes unlike most translated editions.
Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens.I was not planning on tackling this mammoth any time soon but I will need to be familiar with it if I am ever to finish the final chapter of Between Men: English Literature and Male Homosocial Desire, which drills down on OMF.

It is very hard to find. I borrowed an English copy before the libraries closed. It was a fairly old edition with yellowing pages. I imagine the book has been out of print for quite some time. It is definitely worth finding. It is one of my favorites from the list.

Matigari by Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o of Kenya. Translated to English from Gikuyu. I previously read and liked his The River Between.

On Saturday, I started Everything Is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer.
So far, a little bizarre, and a lot funny... or maybe vice versa...
