Lauren | 2 comments From what I remember about this book, it was very short, probably for children ages 3-6 or so. It had pictures on the pages. The main character was a girl with frizzy red hair and she was afraid of various things. Some of those things included the dark, being sucked down the drain when she was taking a bath, getting sucked into the escalator when she went to the mall with her mother. I just remember her being scared of all these things, with the pictures illustrating the fears, and somehow she learned to overcome her fears and wasn't scared anymore by the end of the book.

I know that isn't a lot of details but it's all I remember, and I figured I'd give it a shot. Thanks!

Sherri | 74 comments I don't think this is your book but a book that covers similar themes is "Scary Things" by Norah Smaridge- here's a link that shows some interior pages...

Cheryl (cherylllr) Sorry, all I've got are, also, books about the same subject. These are awesome though, and I'll list them in case another searcher, in the future, looks at this thread.

Little Mouse's Big Book of Fears

Moving to Solved.

Google describes the book as "An elf named Kandu helps Sara overcome her fear of elevators, escalators, bathtubs, closets, and the dark until she is brave enough to confront these things on her own."

The protagonist has frizzy red hair and can be seen disappearing into an escalator.
