Mega Month Challenge (MMC)

Since July is our group's anniversary, we've decided to do one big challenge that will have a number of individual challenges in it. You don't have to complete all of the individual challenges to enter, but this will be a points challenge, so the more you do, the better your chances of winning.

The challenge will start on July 1st and last all month.


Here are the ways to get points:


PART 1-BUDDY UP!

BUDDY READS
~2 points for each buddy read
~20 bonus points for completing 10 buddy reads
As usual, all buddy reads will count as 2 points instead of 1 point, but if you do 10 buddy reads (they have to be started in July) then you will not only get the 20 points for the 10 books, you will also get 20 bonus points.

Please format your Buddy Reads entries like this:

B-U-D-D-Y R-E-A-D-S
~1 point for each book read that starts with any of the letters in BUDDY READ.
~10 bonus points for completing all 10 books
All books MUST have adequate reviews or updates to count. You can't spell out Buddy Reads more than once. You can use the "T" in the word "The" or you can skip the word "The" and start with the first letter of the next word (for example, I am using the "S" in The Sweetest Dark by Shana Abe in the example below). The same goes for a title that begins with "A".

Please format your B-U-D-D-Y R-E-A-D-S entries like this:

COVER BUDDIES
~1 point for each book you read with two people on the cover.
~10 bonus points for reading 10 books.
There can't be more than 2 people on the cover. There can be other objects (like a bench or a skyline), but absolutely no other people.

Please Note
You CAN combine any challenges that you want. So if you want to read a book for Buddy Reads that also works for Spell Buddy Reads then you can certainly do that, but just make sure that you post that you're using it for both of those parts of the challenge. We won't count it if we don't know we're supposed to! For example:

They can all be completed whenever and in any order except for each mod's individual challenge (like Greta's Clean Your Shelf Challenge, etc.) will have to be done in during specific dates :)

Well, I have two set for that time frame, but I guess I'll just ask (beg, more likely) my partner to arrange the books in such a way that I can still do buddy reads.

I think I figured it out. I first checked it when I had just woken up, and couldn't figure anything out. Then, a couple hours later, when I was properly awake, I re-read it and it made sense.

Keep in mind that you can use 1 book that you read for many different parts of the challenge ;) It's the planning ahead that will help you out in this one!

I have a question - for the spell Buddy Reads challenge, can I consider the first letter of the second word in titles that begin the a "the"?

As in: us the "D" in The Diviners? If that's what you mean, then yes. The same rules apply for a book that starts with the word A. Example: you could use the "B" in A Beautiful Dark.

I would be happy to read it with you in July, actually. I don't have time for the current buddy read because I have a few other books to finish before July begins. That's why I'm not reading it right now.
