Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments It's all right, Jacquelyn. I have no problem with that, I just wasn't sure. Glad it wasn't my other book that doesn't count because I had 6 words from that one. LOL

message 366: by Miodrag ★❥ (last edited Jun 02, 2014 04:38AM) (new)

Miodrag ★❥ | 889 comments I am planning to read one parody book this read-a-thon:
The Hunger Pains A Parody by The Harvard Lampoon
now my question: Is this counted as standalone or not?

message 367: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 95 comments I have a question about the points. Is the pages read for each book or for all the pages read in the read-a-thon? Also, if it is the third or fourth in a series, how do you calculate points for that? Is that counted as sequel points?

Yeah, you can count that as a standalone!

Just pages you read during the readathon. But to get points for a book you have to of started and finished the book during the readathon. And yes, they would be counted as sequel points. :)

message 370: by Emily~ (last edited Jun 02, 2014 02:33PM) (new)

Emily~ | 114 comments A quick question for Manga, if it is a first volume will it count as the first in the series and manga point wise or would it just count for manga.

message 371: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments It would just be the 1 point for the manga plus the points for the pages. :)

Ashly (ashlyh) Does companion novels count as sequels?

I'm reading Lola and the Boy Next door

Yes, I would say count them as sequels.

message 378: by Kathy (last edited Jun 09, 2014 10:55PM) (new)

Kathy | 7669 comments I know this question has been asked already but I can't find it, so I will ask again because I want to be clear on this.

If I started a book Sunday, I know I can't use it for points but can I still count it and the number of pages I read today? Thanks! :D

message 379: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Yes, the pages you read during the actual readathon can be counted towards your final page count for the end of the week. :)

message 380: by Kathy (new)

Kathy | 7669 comments Yay! Thanks Jacquelyn! :D

message 381: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Yay! I didn't know that. I'll update mine then and add my Harry Potter pages. Lol

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments You're welcome! :D

message 383: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Anybody interested in another readathon? I know some people's summers end sooner than others so I wanted to try to schedule one that doesn't have a ton of people missing out. :)

message 384: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 30284 comments I'm in! Just name the day!!!

message 385: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Awesome, Trisha!

Another question: Do we like the week long or 24 hour readathons better?

message 386: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Jacque, I'd love to join!!! But I start back to work August 1 and I'll be at our annual Cousins Camp July 23-30. IF at all possible to schedule it before that, I'll be able to join.

message 387: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 30284 comments ummm....I'll leave that up to everyone else
I'm good either way
but definitely thought week long was fun :)

message 388: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments I will definitely keep that in mind, Vicki! I may have to make it soon (like July 7th soon) because we also have plans later in the month of July.

I personally like the week long ones better too. I'll see what some other people say as well. :)

message 390: by Mandiann (new)

Mandiann (goodreadscommandiann) | 6882 comments I will join as much as possible but will be working 5 of 7 days.

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Mandiann wrote: "I will join as much as possible but will be working 5 of 7 days."

Is this for the July 7th week? I think that is the only week I could do in July or else it would have to be in August and a lot of people's summers are over by then.

message 392: by Trinity (new)

Trinity The 24 hour readathon was really fun! I hope we get to do another one soon, but I dk lime the week long one as well! :)

message 393: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments I loved the week long one as well, but I was not able to be on a computer most of that time cuz I was on vacation so I got a little lost recording my days/page read. Hopefully this time will be different.

It's for pretty much any week this summer unless it incorporates a holiday.

message 395: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Alright, I am thinking that we do a week long in July and a 24 hour readathon in August.

Mandiann (goodreadscommandiann) | 6882 comments Jacquelyn wrote: "Alright, I am thinking that we do a week long in July and a 24 hour readathon in August."

What about a 48 hour one in August over a weekend?

message 398: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (last edited Jul 02, 2014 10:06AM) (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments With so many people, it is very hard to get a week or even a day that works for everyone. If I could, I would make it a week that no one has any big plans but that is nearly impossible.

I think I will make the readathon for July 7th through the 13th.

Then maybe we can do a 48 hour readathon in August as suggested by Mandiann.

Actually, I do like that idea, Mandiann! Maybe we can do that instead!

message 400: by Mandiann (new)

Mandiann (goodreadscommandiann) | 6882 comments Sounds like fun! I will join in the week long as much as my schedule permits and try to book off a few days for the August one!!!
