Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Yeah! :D We could just post the book covers and then type our poem underneath.

So I have ideas for 5/7 days. Need 2 more!

Some will just have to be based on reading overall and not directly related to the readathon but I think it would still be fun and it would be a quick thing to give your eyes a little break! LOL!

Angela | 17461 comments What are the other ideas?

message 253: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments These may not be the ones I use. (let me know which ones sound good)

Reading Soundtrack: Get the book you are currently reading and pick a song that fits it and let us know why you chose that song.

Spine Poetry: You know what this is already.

Mid Readathon Questionnaire: This will probably be Day 4 and it will just be a few questions about your progress and how you are enjoying the readathon.

Book Shopping Spree: Someone gave you $100 to spend on books. What books would you get?

Rainbow Book Covers: Tell us your favorite covers. One cover is red, one orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and pink.

message 254: by Angela (new)

Angela | 17461 comments They sound good. :) I like the questionnaire. I'm not sure I get what you mean by "One cover is red, one orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and pink."

message 255: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Like out of any books you pick your favorite cover that is red. You pick your favorite cover that is orange. So on and so forth.

message 256: by Angela (new)

Angela | 17461 comments Oh, LOL, okay.

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Gisbelle and I were thinking of having another week long readathon from March 24-30. Is this a good week?

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Great! Glad that week works for you! Not sure if that is the official week yet but we should have one soon. We have a special twist this time around! :D

message 263: by Angela (new)

Angela | 17461 comments Doesn't work for me. Oh well. :/

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Angela (: wrote: "Doesn't work for me. Oh well. :/"

I'm so sorry to hear that! Since it is a week long though maybe you can get some reading in! :P

message 265: by Angela (new)

Angela | 17461 comments Eh, probably not. I never read unless it's the weekend.

message 266: by Lynn (new)

Lynn Not the greatest week but will still be able to be participate to some extent I would think

message 267: by Mandiann (last edited Mar 09, 2014 07:31AM) (new)

Mandiann (goodreadscommandiann) | 6882 comments It's perfect for me!! I am on holidays that week and I am so behind on reading.

message 268: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1726 comments How does the most recent one work, since it's over several days?

message 269: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Sarah wrote: "How does the most recent one work, since it's over several days?"

I am not entirely too sure what this question is asking. You just read as much as possible over the time span of the one week!

message 270: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1726 comments Oh ok! Some irrational part of my brain thought that I might have to read the entire time... LOL!

message 271: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments OH NO! We aren't that crazy. ;) LOL. Yeah, just read as much as you can!

message 272: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1726 comments Yeah, sometimes I make NO sense :P

LOL! We all have those moments. :P

message 274: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Jacquelyn, no read-a-thon week "works for me" unless it's summer or I'm on a break. But it will give me the impetus I might need to read as much as possible when I might feel like slacking. Lol I am off THIS week for our "spring break." Lol

message 275: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments LOL! Well I will be busy too during the week of the readathon but like you, I will try to read as much as possible.

Enjoy your spring break!

message 276: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Thanks, Jacquelyn! :) The read-a-thons are always fun knowing a bunch of us are all reading together!

message 277: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments You know it just dawned on me that that will be a crazy busy week for me because our last set of pages are due to the publishing plant on the 31st. So I will read as much as I can but now that I think about it I might not get to read nearly as much as I would like to!! :( But I'll join to whatever extent I'm able! :)

That really stinks but you seem to still have good motivation! Just do your best! :D

message 280: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi I am checking the times that people have to start, but sorry I can't really get up out of bed around 4 or 5 am (since I am in CET (at least for now, not sure what it will be when DST comes for my part of the world too)). Do we have to start then? Or is that just a general guideline?

message 281: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments No, that is just a general guideline. So for you all the pages you read from 5 am are the pages that count. You don't have to start at the time it says.

message 282: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi Phew, that is good to hear. I was already worried I would have to get up super early. :) Thanks Jacquelyn.

message 283: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments You're welcome. We aren't that mean. ;P

message 284: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi Are you sure about that? ;) But nah, just kidding, you are all really nice, but just to be sure I had to ask about it. Didn't want to suddenly find out I had to get up early. :)

message 285: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments lol! Why, thank you. And of course! But nope, no waking up early needed!

message 286: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi You're welcome. :)

It would make a nice challenge though (maybe worth some extra dedication points?).

message 287: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Well actually if someone woke up early they would be reading more which would most likely mean more books read which leads to more points. (:

message 288: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi True, that is very true. Though I can't imagine anyone getting up super early, unless they are really dedicated to the challenge. :)

message 289: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Or unless they can't fall to sleep or something! ;) I know I won't be getting up or staying up to start at 12 AM my time because I have states test Monday morning and I don't want to be super tired for them.

message 290: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi True, that can also happen. :) Same here, if I am participating I will just get up at the normal time and not at 4am, especially since I have a busy day I need to extra hours of sleep.

States tests? What is that? Good luck with those!

message 291: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1726 comments In America, every state has its own tests all the students have to take as part of an act passed several years ago to determine if the schools are doing a good job of teaching us. They're really annoying :/

message 292: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi Wow, that sounds annoying indeed. And it is every year? Or every x amount of years?

message 293: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1726 comments Every year. At least, in my state we only have to take it in grades 3-8, but after that we have to take different tests for specific subjects. So many tests... lol

message 294: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi Wow, every year. That sounds annoying and frustrating. Thanks for the explanation. :)

message 295: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1726 comments No problem :D On the bright side, we don't get homework on those days...lol!

message 296: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Yeah, every year grades 3-8. But this year I have to take all four of the tests when most grades only need to take 2: math and reading. I need to take math, reading, writing, and science.

message 297: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi Sarah wrote: "No problem :D On the bright side, we don't get homework on those days...lol!"

Oh that is something at least. :)

o.0 all 4 for them in one go? Good luck Jacquelyn with all that.
