Oh, I'll be ready! I'm going on vacation next week and I won't have much time for reading, so I'm hoping to get my reading fix in before then. ;)

That's great! :) I am just going to get a few more opinions on what others think and I will set up everything.
So we are going to be having a 48 hour readathon this weekend! Posts and threads will be going up very soon. :)
Dang, I'm away for the weekend and won't have much time to read :( Hopefully I can participate in the next one!
I have a few questions regarding the readathon. :)1. I'm not entirely clear or how to score the points. Some of the books I want to read are like a three in one book and so does that count as one book or three???
2. Do sequels cover series? So more than two books? If so does that count for more points?
I think that's it. >.>
Oh and can I read books from my other challenges or do those not count?
Jacquelyn, can we read comics for read-a-thon? I am planning to read just comics this weekend, but I see that comics are not in point system, or is it counting as manga, prequels?
Vicki wrote: "Yay! I'll be in but not able to read as much as I'd like."Yes...me either. :(
but hopefully we will surprise ourselves with how much we can read :)

Okay!
I will try to give you the best answers as possible.
#1. You would count that as three books. If you need help once you finish them and are trying to claim points, you can come back here and I will help you. But yes, count them all individually.
#2. If it is not a book #1 in a series but a book further in a series, you get more points. If you read a sequel, you get 4 points plus the points for the pages you read.
And yes, you can use books from other challenges! You can read anything you like for this. :D
If you have any further questions, let me know.

Vagos wrote: "Should I start a new book or can I continue with something that i have already started?"If you continue what you've already started you cannot claim points since books need to have been started and finished during the readathon if you want to claim points. However, if you continued with your current read you could still count the pages you read in your final page count. Just no points.

oh ok, now I am going to get ready and see what comics I am reading this weekend and also going to 'join' in 8th readathon. LOL Thanks, Jacquelyn! <3

Thank you that helps. :)
Not at the moment, unfortunately. School just started so I want to settle in and then will think about planning another. :)
I was just wondering if there will be challenges for the ninth readathon? I'm planning my tbr soon but I will hold off if there will be some reading challenges posted. :)
Hey Jessica! :)I don't think there will be any challenges for this one. Pretty casual, just read whatever you want/"need" to read! :)
Great. Thanks, Jacque! That works out awesome because I have so many books already lined up to read soon!
After this week long readathon, our next one will most likely be a 24 hour readathon! Do you guys have any specific dates/months that would work best for you or even some suggestions?
Weekends would be my best bet. There's no school and most people don't go to work on the weekend, so we'll have more time to read. As far as month, I would say December, because that's when winter break is, but some people will be taking finals and then getting ready for Christmas...So, maybe November (before Thanksgiving) or early January?
Yes, definitely a weekend. I want to stay away from December since everyone is always so busy. I think we could squeeze it in before Thanksgiving but I feel like early January would be our best bet.
What about a day between Christmas and New Years in December? A lot of people probably have that week off so it might work well.
That's true! I'm hoping to read a ton over the break (I bet a lot of others are too) so including a readathon would be pretty fun I think.
That would work really well for me. I hope everyone else will be able to join if we do that day too. :)
So, we were talking about a 24-hour readathon on December 27th. Do you guys like this or would you rather have me try and find time for a week long readathon? :)
Well what other days would work better for you? I can make a list of a few days and we can take a survey/poll. I think that would be fair.
hmmm...I might be wrong. Might have 27 off. Not sure of anything anymore. Will check in 20 mins when I am at work.
