After the huge impact of the Harry Potter series and the success of Casual Vacancy, what would you like to write about next? Will Casual Vacancy have another book related to it?

The Casual Vacancy is a beautiful work of art. Most other examinations of modern society are made easier to swallow with a candy coating of satire or science fiction. Having no coating does make this pill hard to swallow. Was it hard to write because of the harsh nature of the subject? Were you ever tempted to soften some blows or dip the whole concept in candy coating?
How was it writing something that wasn't part of the Harry potter series? Was the change refreshing? Was there relation to Barry and Harry at all?
If a "casual vacancy" should happen in a complex metropolitan like Jakarta, what do you think will happen?
Krystal is such a strong character whose persistence and fight and refusal to take no for an answer is what binds so many readers to her. Why, then, suicide? How does that fit with her personality? If suicide had not been an option, just from a hypothetical standpoint, what would she have done instead? (Krystal is great, but Fats Wall is a brilliant, original, yet very real character. Well done.)
I was intrigued by the Jawandas. What kind of research did you have to do to create those characters? Why was the father so underdeveloped (as compared to Parminder and Sukhvinder)? They were my favorite characters, and I was glad you had some immigrants in the book. Was it an intentional contrast to the usual bucolic and lily white stereotype of the English countryside?
What about the poetic revenge at the end of the book? Didn't you think about finishing everything like in its right place, giving a lesson to every character instead of killing the weakest one?
I have read all your books (and plan on reading your new one.) Is The Casual Vacancy anything like Harry Potter?
Once I began to feel for the characters of The Casual Vacancy, the book ended. Did you ever consider expanding this book into a series? Maybe the first book of a trilogy? As an avid HP fan, I believe that you are brillant at creating a larger world for your readers to dip into - and stay there - for a while.
I missed the deadline, but anyway, I would ask, what I asked her on Goodreads -> who is the protagonist and why....
Were you scared that Casual Vacancy wont get the same attention as Harry Potter did? Did it make you feel insecure about your career as a writer?
what inspired you to write this book?God bless you Mrs Rowling for writing books and inspiring the youth as well.Live long and prosper.
While writing the book, where you visualizing it as a movie? And writing it so it can be easy to adapt as a screenplay?
Have no question, but having lived in an English village for 5 years, want to say it really ringed true!Kathleen
On the same vane, just recd auto email from Indigo stating JK Rowlings new release, under pseudonym Robert Galbraith has just been released, The Cuckoo's Calling...I will def be getting this one also.
What struck me most when I read interviews about you, was how long you had been imagining the Harry Potter characters and story plot for - that they had been brewing away in your head for years and years and developing into such full and vivid characters and situations. Was this a similar process to creating this novel? Were you able to feel as close to these characters or did time constraints mean that you had to use other means?
Do you plan on taking the Harry Potter series any further ? Is there any scene there might be a book about Harry's children...
I hope you read a book about Harry's children plus Ron and Hermione 's children even Draco's children
I love your books i hope one day when im older i can become a writer do you have and tips i can take
Yes, if you like to read about real people with real life situations, that are not all good, you would very much enjoy this bookJK Rowlings writes so well, and it is displayed in this story.

thank you!!!!!
You're welcome - I have just ordered her newest release, The Cuckoo's Calling.I should get it within 3 weeks, I can't wait!!
Seems such a simple question compared to some of the others, but myself and my partner are massive fans of the Harry Potter books, for ourselves and reading them to our children, and also having read 'The Casual Vacancy' I would love to know what genre of book do you prefer to write? Obviously you are amazing at delving into the mind of a child lol, but if you could only write ONE genre, what would you choose? xxx
Now that H.P. is finished, and you've started on this new path of writing, do you think you'll return to fantasy? Set in the H.P. world or otherwise?
Are the characters based on the traits of people you know? Where did you find such inspiration to create such a complete character like Krystal?
What technique you used for writing the book depicts how everything is interconnected? what is the process since you imagine the story until you write it?
Not to do with The Casual Vacany, but do you think you will ever write a prequel to the Potter Series a bit like The Silmarillion by J. R. R. Tolkien or the star wars' prequels?
Please tell me how did you get your inspiration for this book after harry Potter which is so different?
your books all of them Harry Potter, The Casual Vacancy and Cuckoos Calling are different from each other. Was it difficult to write three totally different books?
People who are interested in hearing J K Rowling discuss the writing process of 'The Casual Vacancy' and the books themes, may enjoy this YouTube interview. .
The comment box keeps deleting the URL, but the interview can be found on YouTube, when you look up 'J K Rowling: Writing for Grown Ups'.
Have you ever experienced some of those issues in your real life that the characters in your book did?
This is such a drastic change from your previous books such as the harry potter series; the major themes in the novel deal with social issues like drugs, prostitution and rape. How did you get these social issues across without 'harming anyone's feelings' but still portraying it in the way it really is?
Ms Rowling:I believe that writers learn from every book they write. If you agree with this premise, could you comment on what you learned from writing this particular book?
