I'm reading The Unfinished Angel by Sharon Creech. It's okay, but I'm not loving it so far like I did Love That Dog and Hate That Cat: A Novel, both by Creech.

Felina wrote: "Kathy wrote: "I'm reading The Unfinished Angel by Sharon Creech. It's okay, but I'm not loving it so far like I did Love That Dog and [book:Hate That Cat: A Novel|29309..."LOL! The title could easily be changed to Love That Cat by the end of the book, not to spoil it for you.

Kathy wrote: "I'm reading The Unfinished Angel by Sharon Creech. It's okay, but I'm not loving it so far like I did Love That Dog and Hate That Cat: A Novel, both by C..."WOW!! I did not know that she was married to Scott Westerfeld! I think I will have to read that book! It is so intersting when you find out that authors are married to each other like Peter Dickenson and Robin McKinley!!
I've just started Poison this week. It's too soon to tell what I think of it. Looks promising, though!
Donna wrote: "I am reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower"Good luck with that. (Am I the ONLY person who hated this book? Because it sure seems like it.)
I read Alvin Ho Allergic to Girls, School, and Other Scary Things yesterday, and it was SO cute... little juvie book.

No Sara, there are two of us! I didn't hate it, I just didn't like it either. Have you read anything by John Green? (Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns) I wondered what you thought of him if so. I found that Looking for Alaska struck me the same way.
I've read An Abundance of Katherines, which I remember liking (apparently a lot because I rated it 4 stars)... But it wasn't the same for me... I just remember Perks having a ton of language and being all-around crude. This is what I wrote in my review: "I didn't like it. I thought it was... perverse. Too much completely unnecessary language. Gross things I didn't want to think about. To me, it was like watching The Rocky Horror Picture Show... I just kept thinking that it was going to get better, and then it ended. I finished it, because I thought that MAYBE the ending would make up for what the majority of the book lacked, but to no avail."
That one and Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist. WOW, I couldn't believe how much language there was in that book! Gratuitous language. It SHOCKED me, and made me feel really disgusted about the kids of the rising generation, who apparently aren't intelligent enough to use more creative language than the F-word. They're the future? I shudder at the thought. (And my generation (about a half-generation ahead of the high schoolers) isn't much better...)
On a more positive note, I'm rereading The Goose Girl, which is fantastic.
I'm reading How to Take the Ex Out of Ex-Boyfriend. . .sounds intersting - I love it! So far at least. . .don't jinx it Arya. . .
I am reading The Demigod Files and I love getting back into Percy's world! It is such a wonderful place. If you've read the 5 Percy Jackson books, I highly recommend this anthology of stories and tid bits.
I just finished the audio of The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart, which I thought was really fun... Frankie is a snarky, logophilic genius!
I just finished THE YEAR THE SPARROWS CAME EARLY and about to start BAD GIRLS DON'T DIE by Katie Alender.
@Sara: The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks is a great book. I love the way it deals with issues of gender, class, and power. And what a kick-ass girl she is!
Yeah, she was AWESOME! :)I just started Fairest. It's cute so far... I can already anticipate where the storyline is going at 50 pages in, but I don't mind that too much...

Thanks Alyson, I am enjoying it. I didn't know that it is supposed to be a series. It's going to be a painful wait after this. Could you recommend similar books?

Yes I can recommend more. I will check out what is on your Good Reads list first.
I just started Hush: An Irish Princess' Tale and am listening to City of Bones as an audio book. Both have kind of slow starts, but I am sure they'll pick up.

Thanks!
I'm reading Anthem by Ayn Rand, I doubt that this is considered YA by anyone's standards, but it is interesting and slightly disturbing. . .
I just finished Peeled by Joan Bauer, who is one of my favorite authors. I loved it.Now I'm listening to Leviathan on audiobook, and I must say I love the narrator's accent. It takes place during WWI and I hope it doesn't get too complex while I'm driving!

Hey - do you know who reads Leviathan? I tried to read it and didn't get into it enough to finish it. Maybe I should listen to it instead . . .
@Arya--Alan Cumming is the narrator of Leviathan, apparently he is Scottish which explains why the European accents sound so authentic :)
AngelaSunshine wrote: "I just started Princess Academy. I'd heard good things about it! So far so good."This is one of my literature circle books and I love teaching it. It is such an interesting read- Enjoy!
Last night I started the second Erec Rex book The Monsters of Otherness, so far so good. I really enjoyed the first one; Erec Rex and the Eye of the Dragon. Very cute Juvie Fantasy Series. Thanks for the insight on what you are reading I added several books to my TBR pile, like it needed it.

It was good! I could really envision the mountain and the people. Hale did an excellent job describing it all without feeling like I was choking on adjectives and similes!
I just finished Paper Towns by John Green. *shrugs* I don't know what to think about his writing... It was certainly an interesting story, but it just doesn't speak to me.
I am reading Under My Skin by Judith Graves...just pure fun urban fantasy with kick-butt heroine, resident hotties, paranormal beasties, and humor.
Sara ♥ wrote: "I just finished Paper Towns by John Green. *shrugs* I don't know what to think about his writing... It was certainly an interesting story, but it just doesn't speak to me."Really? I love how John Green writes. It is witty yet sensitive and makes me laugh and cry. I listened to them all as audiobooks- maybe that made a difference.
I listened to the audiobook, too... I dunno.... Like I said... his writing just doesn't do much for me... *shrugs*
