Hi Alisha. Yes, I do think Alice writes very candidly about her experience. I've been wanting to read this book for ages but only recently managed to get a copy. It's great so far!
I just finished The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay and I can't decide what to read next:Th Maze Runner, Dust of 100 Dogs, or Flash Burnout.
Suggestions?

The Maze Runner is quite interesting.
Okay after spending today working on my sociology paper, I will now start reading Postcards from No Man's Land.
I just finished The Dark Divine... what a good book. I am still thinking about it. I started Pride and Prejudice on Saturday night.

Let me know what you think about Dust of 100 Dogs. I have had that in my closet forever!
I've got to finish Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer by tomorrow, for my real-life book club... which I'm sorta in charge of... ;)

I loved that book!! I am wanting to read all of her books now!

I started The Maze Runner and I'm liking it, but I'm going to read Dust of 100 Dogs next, so I'll let you know :)
I am between books. Trying to decide whether to start in on sequels like AL CAPONE SHINES MY SHOES or THE QUEEN OF ATTIOLA or read a debut author book like THE SECRET YEAR.
Kellee wrote: "Read Al Capone and let me know how it is :) "The first AlCapone book was wonderful. Characters kids could relate to, historical fiction that wasn't dry, respectful and realistic portrayal of disabilities. Overall just a great book.
Bhumi wrote: "Debut authors are always fun, though there's no guarantee the books are going to be worthwhile."There are some though that have been getting positive reviews.

I loved the first one as well, but I haven't gotten to the second one yet :)
I have that one to read too Jennifer. Right now I'm reading That Summer by Sarah. I really enjoyed Dreamland by her as well.
Right now I'm reading Blood Promise by Richelle Mead, the fourth in the Vampire Academy series. I'm really excited to find out what happens.
Sara ♥ wrote: "I'm reading The Lightning Thief and REALLY enjoying it! The audio is great!"I listened to the whole series on audio. I can't think about Percy without hearing his voice :)

Awesome! Does he get older as the books progress or is he 12ish the whole time? Just curious...

Gets older. Have to find out about the prophecy :)
No spoilers!! ;) I know nothing about the story except for what was in the movie preview, which I've seen a couple of times. He doesn't know he's Poseidon's son yet, even though I think it's pretty dang obvious (if you're familiar with Greek mythology)... I would HOPE that I would have known that even if I HADN'T seen the preview...

I love the Percy Jackson series! Percy is so funny.
My 12 year old son is reading The Lightning Thief and says it's great. He wants me to read it, and my husband to read it aloud to our 9 year old (our younger son reads chapter books only reluctantly; he reads comic books all the time).I am reading the first Vampire Academy book. I like it so far, but am not in love with it yet. Are there VA fans out there who think I should stick with it?

The first book of the Vampire Academy series, to me, isn't the best of the series. However, the second and third books are fantastic, and right now I'm devouring the fourth book. Definitely stick to it! If you don't enjoy the first one, you may still enjoy the others.
Just finished How To Train Your Dragon...kind of fun. Anticipate that the movie will be way different. Starting on the Lightning Thief.
Roshini - I hear The Iron King by Julie Kagawa is very good. It was released early on Amazon. I just ordered it.
Alyson wrote: "Roshini - I hear The Iron King by Julie Kagawa is very good. It was released early on Amazon. I just ordered it."Thanks Alyson! Let me see if I can get it...have u read anything by Tamora Pierce? I've been told the stories are similar as well.
So a friend of mine picked me up a book called POWERLESS by Matthew Cody. It sat on my desk for a week before I started reading it. I was almost late for work this morning because I stayed up so late reading it. It's AWESOME. Can't wait to finish it tonight.
I finally finished Pride and Prejudice and have moved on to Soulless. I love it! It's witty, sassy, smart, and fun... I already recommend it and haven't even finished it. :)
Let's see... last time I reported, I was listening to The Lightning Thief. Today I finished The Battle of the Labyrinth (Book 4) and started The Demigod Files... :) Flying right through them. The audios are awesome!
Finished out the Uglies series with Extras. I gave both Uglies and Extras 4/5 stars. These were the best ones. As for Pretties and Specials, they got 3/5 stars. I was tired of hearing the "language"
