Jennifer, I absolutely loved Keeping the Moon! And I remember reading The Truth About Forever as my next Dessen and not enjoying it as much. I just thought it was such a great book.
I'm reading Swindle by Gordon Korman. His books are rich with humor and kids triumphing over the adult forces conspiring against them.
I am now reading Shadow of the Wind and I can't belive I waited this long to read it. It is truly awesome thus far!

I'll let you know my thoughts on it : )
Donna wrote: "I am now reading Shadow of the Wind and I can't belive I waited this long to read it. It is truly awesome thus far!"I've had that on my tbr forever!

I finished my first meg cabot book, Teen Idol, last night. It was good, about a four star. Now I'm reading All-American Girl by Meg Cabot as well. So far I really like it.
I've started The Day the Falls Stood Still and am really liking it so far (on p.50). I love the mixture of the history Niagara Falls, old pictures, and the story at hand.
Eden wrote: "I'm reading Fablehaven by Brandon Mull."I loved the Fablehaven series, Eden, and have immensely enjoyed the series on audiobook. With Kristen's wedding next week, I have only had time to listen to Peter and the Starcatchers on audiobook - amazing story of how Peter became Peter Pan! Already on the 2nd book despite the wedding details and weather watching (wedding in the backyard!)
I just watched the trailer for the new Percy Jackson movie, it's on youtube..I got the link from someone from the other group I am in...
I requested Perfect Chemistry at my bookstore. Right now I'm reading This Lullaby and loving it. I don't think I'll be getting to bed anytime soon...I want to finish it before sleeping time.
Well so much for my reading schedule! I finished Burned but unexpectedly picked up Push instead of Shiver or Catching Fire. It's off to a good start... Not great but it's keeping me interested.
I started Shadowland yesterday, not sure I'm going to like it......on an unrelated note, yesterday on the bus ride home from uni, a businessman in his mid thirties sat down next to me, then pulled out his bus reading material, which happened to be....Marked! I was quite amused :)
Finished Gil's All Fright Diner (silly) and FINALLY got my hands on a copy of The Forest of Hands and Teeth, so I have started that. Love it so far.
I'm reading The Truth About Forever and I'm liking it. This book is well written and really I'm loving how I can relate to it.
I'm reading Kiss Me, Kill Me by Lauren Henderson. One of my students recommended this book to me. I'm not very far and am having a hard time getting into the story. Hopefully it will pick up soon.
I just finished California Blue. It was really good. I was looking for a compelling read aloud for my students about the environment and this one is a contender!

it's very good so far."I thought that book was very well written. It was dark and depressing. But you could really feel what the character was going through.
Finished Once a Witch and absolutely loved it! I thought it was just this really cute, yet great book. I'm hoping there's a sequel. I'm thinking of picking up The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. I'm not a romance fan (although I do like chick-lit and YA romance) and I do think that the movies based on his books are a tad bit overrated (yes, The Notebook, is good, but the best romance movie of all time it is not, or at least that's what I think), but my sister loves his books so I decided to give it a try. If I don't like it then, ehhh, it was a library read so not that big of a deal.
Just finished Pride and Prejudice... much better as an adult read, I think. I missed all the cattiness and social stuff when I was at school and even at university. Brilliant!!
About to start The Lightning Thief... I'm sooo excited!
EDIT to add: the beginning is so great. I'm hooked!

Yay, Natalee!!!Yay, Hayes!!!
I just finished The Forest of Hands and Teeth, and have started 2:
Y The Last Man Vol. 1 Unmanned
and Her Fearful Symmetry.
Jennifer, I absolutely loved Deb Caletti's books. I read Honey, Baby, Sweetheart, The Queen of Everything, and Wild Roses about two and a half years ago. I just picked up The Fortunes of Indigo Skye from the library yesterday and am looking forward to it.
I finally got Club Dead from the library, so I just started that. Before that I read Hothouse Kids, by Alissa Quart, because I am a teacher, and also the mother of some bright kids. Misty, I really want to read Y The Last Man, but my library didn't have it last time I checked.
So, I gave up on The Last Song. Apparently, Nicholas Sparks...not my thing. I'm getting ready to pick up The Blue Notebook and it seems like a tearjerker.
Jennifer wrote: "Finished Fever 1793 and will start Honey, Baby, Sweetheart soon."What did you think of Fever 1793? It's been on my TBR forever.

I read it in two sittings in a couple of hours...it was really really good. I didn't know much about yellow fever and Philadelphia so I learned a lot. Mattie was a great character and I did get pretty teary eyed. I recommend this book and hope you enjoy it.

I've read a few of Coletti's books already and I really enjoy her. I want to read all of her books!!!
Alisha wrote: "So, I gave up on The Last Song. Apparently, Nicholas Sparks...not my thing. I'm getting ready to pick up The Blue Notebook and it seems like a tearjerker."Sparks is REAAAAAAAAALY not my thing. I just don't get his appeal.
Aww... I love Sparks, but he is the author that got me into reading books other than school assignments in High School.
Keep in mind I've only read one thing by him, but it just seemed to me that he was trying to hard to write sentimental stuff and play with people's emotions. It was like a formula,'if I do this, they'll cry.' It just didn't do it for me. And I didn't think the writing itself was great, either. But lots of people adore him, so whatever. Don't let me talk you out of it.

It's too late for you to talk me out of it. I have already read everything by him and own most! :) Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am curious though... which book did you read by him?

Oh okay. That's the one that I don't own, but the first one I read. :) Well, his writing isn't for everyone.
Misty wrote: "Keep in mind I've only read one thing by him, but it just seemed to me that he was trying to hard to write sentimental stuff and play with people's emotions. Although, if the plot has me engaged enough, I can overlook using the same descriptions for every single thing, but The Last Song didn't do it for me. Plus, I found the character of "Ronnie" supremely bratty and I really couldn't deal with her after the first two chapters.
Currently I'm reading Kitty Kitty by Michele Jaffe and Tunnels by Roderick Gorden. Not sure what I think of Tunnels yet, seems to be moving rather slowly.
Roshini wrote: "Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin. "Roshini, I loved this book! It's one of my favorites.
I'm reading Shiver and loving it. 2/3 of the way through and trying to finish by tomorrow's interview event with Maggie Stiefvater.
