Wonderful series, Amy!I have so many RS books that I really love that I will have a hard time listing them all but Shannon McKenna would be on my list for sure.
Some others I likeJulie Garwood Buchanan/Renard series
Lucky's Lady by Tami Hoag
Mr. Perfect, Open Season, Dream Man, Cry No More by Linda Howard
Pamela Clare's I-Team series
Lisa Marie Rice's Midnight series
Jaycee Clark's deadly series
Marliss Melton's SEAL Team 12 series
Maya Banks's KGI series
Karen Rose
Christy Reece
Allison Brennan
Laura Griffin
Bella Andre Hot Shots: Men of Fire seriesLora Leigh Elite Ops series

I consider MB's KGI series Romantic Suspense...you know, Special Ops, hostages, intelligence...And I love them all! Also, again, Nora Roberts has a few books that have good romantic suspense themes...murder...who done it...etc.

Whiskey Beach
Sanctuary

I haven't tried
, but it is on my radar. I also haven't read anything by Julie Miller; while my library doesn't have
, I may try something else of hers.
My latest romance falls in the romantic suspense category: Cinnamon Girl Explains It All
Here's a brief synopsis:
Four years after the tragic loss of her family, newspaper reporter C.G. Harrellson is still a splintered soul. Blaming herself, she denies herself any opinions save the syndicated opinion column she anonymously writes as a release valve: Cinnamon Girl Explains It All.
Even though Detective Wolf Hunter is in the midst of trying to track down a serial killer, he can't help being intrigued by the strange, little reporter who has been assigned to meet with him weekly to write a crime report.
Despite C.G.'s initial fear of the brown eyes that remind her of her late husband and the tender touches that make her feel not just new love but old pain, Wolf patiently pulls her out of her numb, emotionless existence to start again.
Meanwhile, Wolf's partner notices similarities between the Cinnamon Girl column and the murder scenes, sending Wolf in search of the elusive Cinnamon Girl, herself.
Little does he realize, she's as close as a kiss.
A detective, a reporter, her best friend, a cheating husband, a serial killer, Bingo...

I'm very fond of The Nursery Rhyme Killer series by Lena Diaz. I know her, but don't let that stop you. Chilling, well written, and SMART heroines!(I read an RS once where the cop heroine kept saying, I shouldn't do that, it's a stupid thing to do, and then DOING IT ANYWAY!!! ARGH!!!!)

Tara Janzen - author of Crazy Hot - writes more light-hearted romantic suspense. Not quite 'funny', but definitely not serious hostage-rescue kind of stuff. I usually go for the serious stuff, but I really, really love her books.
Julie Miller has about a gazillion romantic suspense books out for Harlequin. They're sort of connected, but all work on their own. I can't say I read a lot of category (Harlequin) romantic suspense - I prefer longer books in this genre - but she's one I always look out for.

"That can be such a problem with romantic suspense. It is my absolute favourite genre when done properly. When not done properly, it can be worse than anything!
I can forgive people for making mistakes (especially if they're not military characters or whatever), but when they constantly do stupid things to prove they're 'tough and capable too' - they don't deserve a happy ending as far as I'm concerned!
I wanted to make that book a wallbanger. But a friend wrote it, so I slogged through. It was her second book, and those are usually not as good as the first.
Luckily, Sonya, I went to San Francisco today - just to get a library card to download eBooks. They have several Julie Miller books. Not
, though!
You have no idea how much I wish I could say, "I went to San Francisco today - just to get a library card"! Everyone I know who has been there loves it!

Sonya Heaney wrote: "You have no idea how much I wish I could say, "I went to San Francisco today - just to get a library card"! Everyone I know who has been there loves it!"Yes, it was a beautiful, crisp clear day, too. And the drive up 280, one of the most beautiful highways in the world, was lovely.

[bookcover:Tactical ..."Mr Perfect by Linda Howard is, well, Perfect!
Evie wrote: "Mr Perfect by Linda Howard is, well, Perfect! "As much as I love books in a series (and I DO love them to bits!), I do wish more authors would produce single title suspense books. There aren't that many Linda Howards around these days...
Lisa Kay wrote: "Yes, it was a beautiful, crisp clear day, too. And the drive up 280, one of the most beautiful highways in the world, was lovely."
Yep. Still jealous!
Evie wrote: "Mr Perfect by Linda Howard is, well, Perfect!"Also, I remember I put off reading it for ages, because the title made me think it was going to be ridiculous! How wrong I was!
Sonya Heaney wrote: "Also, I remember I put off reading it for ages, because the title made me think it was going to be ridiculous! How wrong I was!"**chuckles**
Sonya Heaney wrote: It happens so often. Authors are so focused on perfecting that first one that the others seem rushed...Or they have a faster deadline. But I'm scared to read anything else for fear it's her. :)
Also, that! There's one RS author I've noticed has been putting out more and more books each year, and she's getting worse and worse reviews with each one. There's no time to write something good when you're in that much of a rush!
This is my absolute favorite genre, so my next novel will be just that "hot romance and suspense", most definitely some violence too.
