Oh how lovely it was to go back to PEI.

I thought it could be boring by Mr. Finkel writes impressively about a young man that went into the woods for 27 years and had no contact with the outside world.

Finished 'Girl of my Dreams' by Durjoy Datta. 2 Stars.

Excited to find out if you enjoyed this one Blue. I have it waiting on my dresser.

Hello, I am a globetrotting mum who enjoys reading books from many different cultural backgrounds.
My latest favourite is a gripping biography entitled "He never deserved me". It is a novel mindful of cultural values. A sharp and sensitive narration of a woman's fight for independence and love. A story that will touch your heart with the acknowledgement that we all need to believe in ourselves.

I did not enjoy this one, the real question is-- should I give the second book a chance? Or bypass the rest of this series?

The reader of this book should walk away thinking about the possiblilty that some experiences from their childhood still impact their adult behaviors today. One woman I spoke with shared her story of being abandoned by her mother at 7 years old. Now in her late fifties she still relives those painful memories whenever she sees, a of all things, a teddy bear. Which her mother left with her before leaving her with a neighbor.
While writing the book my oldest sister shared with me that "while growing up, hearing that I was never going to be more than this or that scarred me; along with the whippings with the ironing cord and being told to get out didn’t nurture me or help me to mature."
This book will help the reader understand that their past does not have to dictate their future and encourages them to take their power back.

I am loving this book. I’ve always loved Gabrielle as an actress, full of elegance and grace. And I love her even more as a person. She’s been through more than we could ever know and made it out stronger.
