message 3403: by Harriet (new)

Harriet Levin | 11 comments Check out How Fast Can You Run by Harriet Levin Millan. It's fiction but it's based on the life of a S. Sudanese refugee the author met in Philadelphia and she and her son helped reunite with his mother. What an amazing story. Details the racism the protagonist met in Philadelphia, which nearly equals the dangers he faced in Sudan.

message 3418: by Sara (new)

Sara | 102 comments I listened to The Poisonwood Bible in audio format, and I loved it even more than the first time I read it in print which was one of the picks for the original Oprah book club.
I started The Story Hour also in audio with a talented narrator who captivates the Indian Accent with broken English perfectly for this audiobook. I highly recommend the audio version of this book.

I do thats the only way I can get my reading challenges done, I completed my reading challenge this year though. Books I am reading right now (Well not at this very second obviously) The Guardians
Book 1: The girl
By Lola StVil
Witch is when it all began (a Witch P I Mystery Book 1)
I read some sample books: White lillies (A mitchell Sisters novel) by Christy, Samantha. Surviving a Borderline Parent: How to heal Your Childhood Wounds and Build Trust, Boundaries and Self Esteem By Kimberlee Roth Goddesses Never Age: The Secret prescription for radiance, Vitality, and Well Being By Dr. Christine Northrup, Sample and I have the ebook I just don't know how to link it together on my kindle. I am sure there are many of us reading a whole bunch of books at one time. I was doing reviews, which I need to get back to a book I needed to do a book review on but still have to finish that book lol I am at 32% done with her book.

Bernice | 5 comments I am currently reading The Burning Girl, I am not liking it very much. There are only 156 pages but it is taking me forever to read. I hate to not finish a book, but this is a candidate for that. The writing is not very good.

message 3449: by Kai (new)

Kai (ky02121) | 28 comments Sourdough by Robin Sloan

message 3450: by Shannon (new)

Shannon Heuston | 1 comments I'm reading the fourth novel in the Game of Thrones series. I've just been reading them one after the other. I love the books, but there are so many characters and some of the situations are so complicated that I am grateful for the ability to read then one after the other.

I'm also reading The Teacher's Wife, which I downloaded for free from one of the bargain books pages. It's actually been pretty gripping thus far. I'm trying to make an effort to read Indie authors to kind of pay it forward.

I was hoping to download the audio version of the Game of Thrones book, so I could listen to it during my 45 minute commute to work, but I think I botched that. Haven't quite figured out how to do it yet.
