Cheryl (cherylllr) Lesley, others, I don't want to steal you from this group, but if you want to join a cozy group that discusses travel memoirs, and badly needs someone like you who has read more than I have, please consider us at Fans of Maps. http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/3...

Maggie Lesley wrote: "Today I started A House in Fez Building a Life in the Ancient Heart of Morocco by Suzanna Clarke. Travel memoirs are a favourite of mine."

I really enjoyed this book even though I dont usually choose books about people renovating homes overseas (just feel there are too many of that style around for anything new to be added). Hope you like it too.

Laurel Lamperd I have finished Stieg Larsson's Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and now am halfway through Girl who Played with Fire. The third one is waiting to be read. all lent to me by my daughter. I'm not sure I would vote the books the bestsellers they seem to be. To me they are average thrillers. I like the way that Stieg L writes about the sex trade which most of don't know anything about though there has been a lot in the news lately about the pedophile industry. I guess any information on these terrible things whether it be fact or fiction must help stamp it out. Hopefully. Laurel http://aussieauthorsatwork.blogspot.com

My mum loved the first one, thought the second one was 'very average', and ditched the third one half way through.

I have just finished Sing You Home by Jodi Picoult..what an amazing book!! I've left a review, and I have to say this would be one of her best books that I've read. I fully recommend it to anyone who loves Jodi's books.

I'm about to start It Is No Secret: The Story Of A Stolen Child by Donna Meehan. Aussie author, so will add to my Aussie Author challenge.....

Jacinta Hoare | 62 comments Good morning all
Finally, finally I have managed to crack open A Fortunate Life.

In the story's progression the author is only fourteen years old and just starting out his droving days. I love the way this is written, its like listening to my grandfathers speak of their younger days (albeit my grandfathers were the next generation along). I can almost hear my own grandfather's voice when talking about droving.

Bronwyn Rykiert | 315 comments There are certainly some good books being read - so much so that my TBR list is growing at a fast rate. I am still reading Nauti Dreams (Nauti, #3) by Lora Leigh - for some reason I am having a little trouble getting through that one. I am also reading Beyond The Darkness (Guardians of Eternity, #6) by Alexandra Ivy and listening to Dreamland by Tom Gilling and Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins - I am really enjoying all of them actually

I just finished The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan. It was wonderful. Possibly my favorite book that I have read so far this year. The setting was fantastic, the writing was suspenseful, the characters were all interesting and likable, the plot was well paced and the ending climax was exceptional!!!
I am immediately about to start the sequel/companion: The Dead-Tossed Waves, which is an equally awesome title and cover:
The Dead-Tossed Waves (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #2) by Carrie Ryan The Dead-Tossed Waves (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #2) by Carrie Ryan

Laura, they are so good...worth a sitting of them, and they are a pretty quick read as well. Very enjoyable!

I also just finished 'Beastly' by Alex Flinn. It seemed sometimes pretty immature and there were some flaws, but for some reason I could not put it down. I hope to see the movie version soon although from the poster it seems very different to the novel.
