I tried to read that. Couldn't get through it. I'm reading a lot of non fantasy right now. But plan to read Red Moon. Sounds pretty good even though I'm not that crazy about werewolves.

message 9: by Thomas (new)

Thomas Cardin I am over halfway through The Bridge at Ardendale by J.W. Kent by J.W. Kent, a fun and bawdy low fantasy. It is making me laugh and smile all the while.

The Name of the WindI had to know what happened next!

Nice choices! A Song of Ice and Fire slows down a lot after Storm of Swords, but it's still worth continuing the series.

Interesting how some of us can go through a particular book easily, while others are stumped.
:)

To each his/her own.

I'm neutral on werewolves.....I just don't like too much descriptive violence.
Let me know your opinion on Red Moon...maybe I'll add it.

I have a friend like that too.She won't read anything unless she thinks it might be really interesting.
I'm the complete opposite I'll read anything just to be reading something, books magazines, the label on the mustard jar..anything.

I enjoyed Blood Song very much! Hope we don't have to wait too long for the sequel.

For me, I'm going with a classic that I missed: The Black Company

Joseph | 1651 comments Finished The Best of Robert E. Howard: Grim Lands and went for something completely different with Phoenix Rising by Philippa Ballantine and Tee Morris.

message 37: by Tracy (new)

Tracy A. | 79 comments Tomorrow I'll finish A Memory of Light. I've only approx. 140 iBook pages left to go. I began this epic in November 2012 for the very first time, happily knowing that I could read it in its entirety from beginning to end with the generosity and guidance of Harriet McDougal Rigney and the incredible writing of both Robert Jordan (a.k.a.: James Oliver Rigney) and Brandon Sanderson. Now, I'm saddened to know that this incredible story is at an end. While I'm quite okay with the story's finality, these novels have been my consummate reading for the past 8 months. Why did it take so long for me to complete the series? Because during the school year I don't have the time I do in the summer months to read endlessly. So, after tomorrow's final chapters, my next anticipated read is Guy Gavriel Kay's, River of Stars. If only I could somehow earn a wage while reading books between Summer Solstice and the beginning of the school year in the third week of August!
