I'm hoping it's keepers because I think we're the only team who'll get 5 in a row with that. If it's vampires we'll have to read quickly to beat the other team. I have a book for keepers and vampires ready anyway so if one of them is called I'll start reading straight away.I think I'll probably finish my aliens books by the shelf announcement or on Sunday morning.
I think we want the Vampires shelf to be called. According to Rachel over in the Discussion Thread, Team 3 also has a chance at a Bingo if Keepers is called.

If keepers does get called we have to read like the devil lol. Based on the stats it's a pretty good chance the game will be over after the next shelf.

I'm not sure how I feel about this one. It was good but not as great as the first two books. Sure there were some laughs at the beginning, but the end was filled with some sadness and the looming consequences of what happened. I'm glad I have the next book handy so I can see what happens next.

The Immortals After Dark is an entertaining series with a host of quirky and lovable, if somewhat disturbed, characters. Unfortunately, the hero of this particular installment is neither quirky nor lovable, although he is seriously disturbed, and it is virtually impossible to find anything appealing about him.As such, it is with a sad heart that Dreams of a Dark Warrior becomes my least favorite book in the series.
Declan Chase is the reincarnated lover of the Valkyrie, Regin, but is doomed to die once he remembers his past with her. In his current incarnation, Declan is a member of the Order, an organization aimed at destroying Loreans by capturing, imprisoning and torturing them in particularly gruesome ways - something that Declan actively and gleefully participates in. The fact that he suddenly regrets his actions after recognizing Regin as his mate in no way mitigates his behavior and neither does his painful personal history.
Despite being an exceptional writer, Kresley Cole has met an obstacle that she cannot overcome with Declan and her attempts to redeem his character are a dismal failure. Consequently, Declan's romance with Regin, as engaging as she is, is completely incomprehensible - what woman falls in love with the man responsible for stabbing, poisoning and eviscerating her?
In contrast, the secondary characters, especially Lothaire, somehow manage to salvage the book from being a complete waste of time. Natalya, Brandr and Thad are all intriguing and I hope we will be seeing more of them.

Not that it matters much now but I finally finished my aliens book.
- ★★☆☆☆ - 05/08/13Dune was far far too slow and boring for my liking. For the first 400 pages reading it was like a chore, and I found myself wanting to do anything else but read it. I should have known it'd be slow and boring from the comparison to The Lord of the Rings on the front cover but I still read it and discovered for myself that it is indeed as dragging and tiresome as the Fellowship. It's true the the last 100 pages were enjoyable and I wanted to know what would happen next and cared for the characters, but that didn't make up for the really long descriptions and pointless ramblings of Frank Herbert for the first three quarters.
Long boring books are no fun. But you can now say you read it.
I read Dune probably when I was a teenager, so I liked it back then. Hate to think what I'd make of it now.

Tortured Hero

I liked the possible story lines that came out of this book more than I liked the story of Theron and Casey. I thought Theron was an ass in the beginning when the only thing he thought of when he was with Casey was getting in her pants. The man doesn't know what Star Wars is and that is just wrong. And the fact that Casey brought him home with him was ridiculous. Sorry, but I would have called the cops and then gotten the hell out of there when I heard the sirens coming. Nick was creepy as well.
Why is it that these guys think keeping stuff from people is going to make things safer for them? Look at what happened to Dana. Ha! You thought I spoiled something for you but you have to read the book to understand what I'm talking about.
Things started to get interesting once there were scenes in Argolea. I found the side characters intriguing and sort of looked forward to reading the books that follow in the series. Maybe the next few books have all the kinks ironed out.
So, have we given up on the possibility of winning?
