Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments Hi everyone!!!! So excited to start :)

message 7: by Lilac (new)

Lilac (lilac_wales) | 46 comments Hi Jenne! Have you played before?

message 8: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments Yep, have you Lilac?

message 9: by Lilac (new)

Lilac (lilac_wales) | 46 comments Nope, this is my first time. It looks like a lot of fun. :)

message 10: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments It's super easy. We do need to decide on a team name, captain, and pick our frees pace books in the near future.

message 11: by Lilac (new)

Lilac (lilac_wales) | 46 comments Okay. I'm in school and have exams coming up in the next few weeks so I'd prefer not to be a captain if possible.

As for our team name, should it have something to do with number 4?

message 12: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments Here are some name ideas

awesome foursome
FOURget the competition
FOURmidable foursome
four way stop

I might can come up with some more in a bit.

message 13: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments We were typing at the same time lol, it doesn't have to have 4 in it but most teams usually use their # in some way.

message 14: by Lilac (new)

Lilac (lilac_wales) | 46 comments Cool! I love awesome foursome... and all the rest to be honest. :)

message 15: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments I liked it and FOURget the competition too the most. I know Alyssa has played before. I'm not sure if Lauren and Kimberly have.

message 16: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (lyssad87) | 974 comments Yep, Jenne, is correct. I've played before.

I'd rather not be captain. I'm not really online a whole lot besides checking in and posting my reviews.

What about making it 4get the Competition?

message 17: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments I like that too! I can captain if nobody wants to.

message 18: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (lyssad87) | 974 comments Works for me.

So, where does everyone live?

message 19: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments I'm in Texas.

message 20: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (lyssad87) | 974 comments I guess I could have said where I live earlier. I live in Illinois.

message 21: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (gravy) | 530 comments Hey team!!!
I'm Kimberly from California. I've played before and can't wait to start.
I like 4get the Competition as a team name.

message 22: by Lilac (new)

Lilac (lilac_wales) | 46 comments 4get the Competition is great with me too. :)
I'm from Wales (in the UK).

message 23: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Hi everyone,

I'm Lauren and I live in Israel. I've played in the last two rounds and had a blast!

I like the name 4get the Competition as well and I'm willing to be captain if no one else is interested. The only problem is that Sunday morning Japan time is early in the AM here so someone else in the team might have to announce the shelf.

message 24: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments I'm good with you being captain Lauren. It's usually late Saturday afternoon here when the shelf is called. So I can help announce the shelf.

message 25: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments I guess I'm going to go try and pick my free space read.

message 26: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments I'm going to read Darkness Unmasked (Dark Angels, #5) by Keri Arthur for my free space book.

message 27: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (gravy) | 530 comments I'M READY TO PLAY!!! :)
So are we all good with Lauren being captain?

I'm going to read Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #3) by J.R. Ward for the free space.

message 28: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (lyssad87) | 974 comments Works for me. Did we all agree on 4get the Competition for the name too?

Haven't picked a free space book yet. I'll look at it some time soon.

message 29: by Lilac (new)

Lilac (lilac_wales) | 46 comments Lauren as captain is good with me too.

For free space I'll either read The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1) by Julie Kagawa or A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire, #2) by George R.R. Martin , depending on what the first shelf announcement is.

message 30: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Right then, so I;ll be captain and our team name is 4get the Competition. I'll pop on over to the discussion thread and post it.

I'm going to read Edge of Dawn (Midnight Breed, #11) by Lara Adrian for my free space book. Ive been putting it off for some reason so now is the time to get to it.

message 31: by Jenne (last edited May 31, 2013 06:16AM) (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments Here's the link to search for shelves if anyone needs/wants it.
http://www.goodreads.com/shelf

@ Lauren I read that one and it wasn't as good as Chase's book but she had to set up the new world so it was kind of like a first book in a way. It did set it up nicely for the next one though.

message 32: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Thanks Jenne.
I think I will approach it as I would any first book in a series - it will probably make me more tolerant.

message 33: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments That's a good attitude to have for this one. It's not like any of the other MB books.

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments I'm on the gr app so can't link the book but I'm gonna read Spider's Revenge by Jennifer Estep.

message 43: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Thanks for posting the shelf, Kimberly. Looks like the announcement comes at about 1:30 AM my time :0(

I was planning on reading The Templar Legacy (Cotton Malone, #1) by Steve Berry for this shelf but I'm reading Inferno (Robert Langdon, #4) by Dan Brown now and they are too similar. So I think I will go with Marked (Eternal Guardians, #1) by Elisabeth Naughton instead.

Review:
Couldn't put this one down! Action packed from the first page to the last page! The Spider is out to get her revenge and will go to any means necessary to do so. (view spoiler) If you haven't tried this series yet, what are you waiting for?!?! Highly recommend it to anyone who's a fan of a unique world, lovable characters, and one kick butt assassin.

Lauren (laurenjberman) Way to go Jenne. I'm looking forward to the Spider's Bite (Elemental Assassin, #1) by Jennifer Estep buddy read!

message 48: by Alyssa (last edited Jun 04, 2013 07:51PM) (new)

Alyssa (lyssad87) | 974 comments Since ya'll are ranting and raving about the Elemental Assassins series.... I'm going to read Spider's Bite (Elemental Assassin, #1) by Jennifer Estep for the Assassins shelf.

I've also picked One Grave at a Time (Night Huntress, #6) by Jeaniene Frost for my Free Space book. (I haven't checked to be positive that it's on the group bookshelf, but I'm betting it is and I will definitely check before I start reading.)

message 49: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 1179 comments I hope you like it Alyssa! I really like that series a lot. The characters are so like able and the way it's written you feel like you know them.

Finished: 4 June
Rating 3 Stars

I wasn’t feeling it for this book.
I remember reading the first two books and remember what happened that lead to Brenna being rescued, but I felt like I was missing something between the point when she was rescued and then now they’re buddy-buddy on the verge of being mated. I didn’t connect to Brenna at all. Judd, on the other hand, I totally got. But I think it’s because I’m cold blooded and think I’m a secret ninja.
It took the last 20 chapters for me to really get into it and that was for the fact that Council was being the arrogant pain in the pinky toes that they seem to excel at being. And the Ghost! How excited am I that he’s trying to pour salt in their Kool-Aid!
If I ever get to it, Hawke’s book is going to be sweet! He’s like a nice version of Heathcliff.
