Sin Undone (Demonica, #5) by Larissa Ione
completed 6/7/13
5♥

Review: I love the Demonica series by Larissa Ione and this did not disappoint. I will say I'm sure I missed a couple of things that will become more clear once I read Ecstasy Unveiled as my library should have it this weekend for me, lol. Still, I appreciate her ability to world build and still keep all of her characters interesting even while introducing new ones. This is Sin and Con's story. Interesting to learn their back stories and watch Sin grow and learn to accept others. I'm looking for ward to Lore's story and then on to Lords of Deliverance series!!

Wait for You (Wait for You, #1) by J. Lynn

Title/Author: Wait for You by J. Lynn
Date finished: 9th June
Rating: ★★★★
Review: This book was a great new adult contemporary romance. I love most of all when the romance builds instead of being instant, and this was what happened here - they build a friendship first.
The issues were handled sensitively and it was actually the first time I'd ever read of (view spoiler) Will definitely read the next one which I'm hoping will be about (view spoiler)

~Melissa~ | 1616 comments Week 2 Book Boyfriends

Perfection (A Neighbor from Hell, #2) by R.L. Mathewson
by R L Mathewson
completed 6/9/13 3.5♥

Review: This was a quick, easy, funny read. This is about Jason's (book 1) cousin Trevor and plain jane Zoe. Trevor has a list of requirements for his future wife 1) must be beautiful with a hot body 2) look good enough that he is envied by other men 3) have a large family ~ so he can still do his own thing with friends and she won't bother him 4) a good cook ~ after all he does have the Bradford appetite we found out about in book 1.... there are several more requirements but you get the picture. His little tenant, Zoe does not meet any of them. In fact in there first face to face encounter he basically tells her that she "doesn't need the order of food that was delivered....because she could stand to lose weight". Yep, Trevor is a *prize* at least in his mind he is,lol. He ends up not being able to keep her shapely figure out of his mind. After one night of finding her drunk at a bar they decide to embark on an *arrangement* where they both get there needs met without a relationship and when they are done they will walk away without any issues. Only problem is the longer this goes on Trevor can't stand the thought of her with another guy. I enjoyed this one. I have to admit not as much as the first one.

Plus, the rating for 'Wait for You' is probably more 4 and a half stars. Good to see you're enjoying 'Spirit' - I remember liking the first book a lot so I'll have to carry on with the series :)

Megan L Harnett On Dublin Street (On Dublin Street, #1) by Samantha Young

Shelf: Book Boyfriends
Finished: 6/11/13
Rating: ★★★★★

Joss looses her family in a car accident when she is a teenager. Her past is full of loniness and heartbreak and learning how to take care of herself. She shields herself by not getting close to people and caring. She moves to Scotland and when she is done with college she moves into a new place on Dublin Street were she meets Ellie and her brother Branden.

This book is one of the must reads! Braden and Elle both get under the hard shell that Joss has put up around herself. Sometimes she is too stubborn and it drove me crazy but over all she is a fun character. I listened to this on audio book and it is great with the accents and everything. I highly recommend this book!!!

Spirit (Elemental, #3) by Brigid Kemmerer

Shelf: Book BoyFriends
Finished: June 13, 2013
Rating: 5 stars

Review:Once again Brigid Kemmerer has managed to create yet another amazing installment in the Elemental series. Hunter's story was touching and very emotional, and more then once it had me reaching for a tissue. This series just keeps getting better and better and the only negative thing I have to say is that I have to wait way to long for the next book to get my Merrick brother's fix :)

Megan L Harnett Embrace The Darkness (Guardians of Eternity, #2) by Alexandra Ivy

Shelf: Assasins
Finished: 6/13/13
Rating: ★★★★☆

This story is about a half human half demon mix whose blood can cure sick vampires. Shay has lived as a slave all her life. She gets bought by a Vampire named Viper who is enthralled with her. While they are getting acquainted an evil darkness is trying to find Shay to drink her blood.

I liked this book. It has been awhile since I read the first book of the series and forgot how good it is. I like the sexy, romantic vampires in the story! I can't wait to read the next one!

Katherine (katdylan) | 34 comments Free Space Book:
Pride Mates by Jennifer Ashley

Pride Mates (Shifters Unbound, #1) by Jennifer Ashley

I've read a lot of shifter books, some of them are ok, some are good, and some like this one are great!
Shifters are not a secret to humans anymore, now they live among people, and not hiding out pretending they are something else. However, they are not liked. There's a lot of hate toward them, since stupid people hate what they can overpower.
When their numbers started to drop years ago, the shifters decided to be put on collars. The collars are made of technology and magic. It helps to cool their temper, and to keep their instincts at bay.

Kim is a human lawyer, designed to defend a shifter on a murder case. She believes him innocent,a nd will do just about everything to set him free.
The only way she can get answers, is through Liam, who at first is only a bar manager, but who's got ties with everybody inside the pride.
Taking info from him, won't be easy, though. There's also the clan leader whose plans are very dark, and which could start a whole war between shifters and humans again.

I really, really liked this book. Both main characters are awesome. I fell in love with both of them, and even tho I think their relationship was a bit too fast, it didn't wrecked the story for me. I loved Liam's family and the pride. They were more human, than a lot of people I wouldn't like to call human beings.
5 Stars, no brainer!

Katherine (katdylan) | 34 comments Week Three: Strong Heroines

Book: Breaking Point
Author: Pamela Clare
Strong Heroine: Natalie Kick-Ass Benoit.
Rating: 5 Stars
Date read: 06/18/2013

Breaking Point (I-Team, #5) by Pamela Clare

I really really really like these series and this genre.
Natalie is an journalist from Denver on a seminar in Mexico with fellow other journalists. One day cartel members invade the bus they are all in, kill most of the people inside and kidnap her.
Taken in captivity, she learns she will be part of a ritual with a sick man, to be tortured, raped and killed. But from the darkness comes a voice, the one voice that will change her life forever.

Zack knows he's gonna die, and he's resigned to it. He was betrayed by an interpol agent and accused of stealing from a cartel. He's been tortured already and knows his time is running out. But when he discovers there's a woman very close to him now, he wishes to save himself, in order to save her.

When they finally manage to run away from their life sentences, they discover their nightmare is far from over.

Natalie is no withering flower. She does what she must in order to stay alive and to help Zack.
There's a price on their heads, and they have to be clever to outsmart the bad guys.
I really enjoyed this book. 5 Stars!

Twice Tempted (Night Prince, #2) by Jeaniene Frost
by Jeaniene Frost
finished 6/17/13

Review: This is the second book in this series. Love Leila and the fact that she doesn't put up with Vlad's crap. He was an ass in the beginning of the book - I wanted to throw my book a couple of times. Not exactly what he thought was going to happen when he springs asking her to become "one of his line" in front of a room full of vamps she doesn't know without discussing it with her in private to begin with, hmmm ~ what an idiot!?!? ( that is the only spoiler - promise) Vlad as usual is awesomely arrogant and Leila is able to put him in his place. Felt sorry for both Maximus and Shrapnel with what happens to them. Absolutely ready for book #3!!

~Melissa~ | 1616 comments Week Three:
Shelf: strong heroines

Fragile (Rafferty, #1) by Shiloh Walker
by Shiloh Walker
Stong Heroine: Devon Manning
Finished 6/18/13
4♥

Review: Devon has not had an easy life ~ she lost her parent's when she was a child; her aunt takes her in and uses up all the $$ her parent's left her; she is raped by her stepfather; her aunt throws her out for being a "whore" and she ends up turning to drugs. Finally winds up with a good family in the foster system. Turns her life around and becomes a social worker.
In comes sexy Dr Luke Rafferty who takes one look at her and can't stay away. Surprisingly she opens up to him and feels safe with him when she hasn't with any other man. Her past as well as a present case and his past all work against them in this suspense/thriller. This was a thrilling ride.

Free Space

On the Edge (The Edge, #1) by Ilona Andrews
By Ilona Andrews
Finished: June 22,13
Rating: 4.5 stars

Review: This is the first book in The Edge series by husband and wife team Ilona Andrews. For anyone who had read the Kate Daniels series by Andrews, the Edge is equally as good, and I very much enjoyed this book. The world building is fantastic and I love how Andrews develops her characters and then makes you love them. This book was full of Magic and Mystery and I for one can't wait to read the next book in the series and see what's in store for the next set of characters.
